Il Signore protegge il suo popolo

1 Canto dei pellegrinaggi. Quelli che confidano nel Signore sono come il monte di Sion, che non può vacillare, ma sta saldo in eterno. 2 Gerusalemme è circondata dai monti; e così il Signore circonda il suo popolo, ora e per sempre. 3 Lo scettro dell’empio non rimarrà per sempre sull’eredità dei giusti, affinché i giusti non tendano le loro mani verso il male. 4 O Signore, fa’ del bene ai buoni e ai retti di cuore. 5 Ma quanti deviano per sentieri tortuosi, il Signore li disperderà insieme ai malfattori. Pace sia sopra Israele.

Der Herr ist um sein Volk her

1 Ein Wallfahrtslied. Die auf den HERRN hoffen, werden nicht fallen, sondern ewig bleiben wie der Berg Zion. 2 Um Jerusalem her sind Berge, und der HERR ist um sein Volk her von nun an bis in Ewigkeit. 3 Denn das Zepter des Frevels wird nicht bleiben / über dem Erbteil der Gerechten, damit die Gerechten ihre Hände nicht ausstrecken zur Ungerechtigkeit. 4 HERR, tu wohl den Guten und denen, die frommen Herzens sind. 5 Die aber abweichen auf ihre krummen Wege, / wird der HERR dahinfahren lassen mit den Übeltätern. Friede sei über Israel! (Sal 128,6; Ga 6,16)

1 A Song of degrees. They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. 2 As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever. 3 For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity. 4 Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts. 5 As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the LORD shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.

1 Los que confían en el Señor son como el monte Sión, que jamás será conmovido, que permanecerá para siempre. 2 Como rodean las colinas a Jerusalén, así rodea el Señor a su pueblo, desde ahora y para siempre. 3 No prevalecerá el cetro de los impíos sobre la heredad asignada a los justos, para que nunca los justos extiendan sus manos hacia la maldad. 4 Haz bien, Señor, a los que son buenos, a los de recto corazón. 5 Pero a los que van por caminos torcidos deséchalos, Señor, junto con los malhechores. ¡Que haya paz en Israel!
