Propositi di un re integro

1 Salmo di Davide. Canterò la bontà e la giustizia; a te, o Signore, salmeggerò. 2 Avrò cura di camminare nell’integrità; quando verrai a me? Camminerò con cuore integro, dentro la mia casa. 3 Non mi proporrò nessuna cosa malvagia; detesto il comportamento dei perversi; non mi lascerò contagiare. 4 Allontanerò da me il cuore perverso; il malvagio non voglio conoscerlo. 5 Sterminerò chi sparla del suo prossimo in segreto; chi ha l’occhio altero e il cuore superbo non lo sopporterò. 6 Avrò gli occhi sui fedeli del paese per tenerli vicini a me; chi cammina per una via irreprensibile sarà mio servitore. 7 Chi agisce con inganno non abiterà nella mia casa; chi dice menzogne non potrà restare davanti ai miei occhi. 8 Ogni mattina sterminerò tutti gli empi del paese per estirpare dalla città del Signore tutti i malfattori.

1 Ein Psalm Davids. Von Gnade und Recht will ich singen und dir, HERR, Lob sagen. 2 Ich will mich halten an den rechten Weg. / Wann kommst du zu mir? Ich wandle mit lauterem Herzen in meinem Hause. 3 Ich nehme mir keine böse Sache vor; ich hasse es, Unrecht zu tun, das soll nicht an mir haften. (Prov 20,8; Prov 20,28) 4 Ein falsches Herz muss von mir weichen. Böses leide ich nicht. 5 Wer seinen Nächsten heimlich verleumdet, den bring ich zum Schweigen. Ich mag den nicht, der stolze Gebärde und Hochmut hat. 6 Meine Augen sehen nach den Treuen im Lande, / dass sie bei mir wohnen; Wer auf rechtem Wege geht, der dient mir. (Prov 22,11) 7 Falsche Leute dürfen in meinem Hause nicht bleiben, die Lügner bestehen nicht vor mir. 8 Jeden Morgen bring ich zum Schweigen alle Frevler im Lande, dass ich alle Übeltäter ausrotte aus der Stadt des HERRN. (Prov 20,26)

1 A Psalm of David. I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing. 2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. 3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. 4 A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person . 5 Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer. 6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me. 7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight. 8 I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.

1 Quiero cantar al amor y a la justicia: quiero, Señor, cantarte salmos. 2 Quiero triunfar en el camino de perfección: ¿Cuándo me visitarás? Quiero conducirme en mi propia casa con integridad de corazón. 3 No me pondré como meta nada en que haya perversidad. Las acciones de gente desleal las aborrezco; no tendrán nada que ver conmigo. 4 Alejaré de mí toda intención perversa; no tendrá cabida en mí la maldad. 5 Al que en secreto calumnie a su prójimo, lo haré callar para siempre; al de ojos altivos y corazón soberbio no lo soportaré. 6 Pondré mis ojos en los fieles de la tierra, para que habiten conmigo; sólo estarán a mi servicio los de conducta intachable. 7 Jamás habitará bajo mi techo nadie que practique el engaño; jamás prevalecerá en mi presencia nadie que hable con falsedad. 8 Cada mañana reduciré al silencio a todos los impíos que hay en la tierra; extirparé de la ciudad del Señor a todos los malhechores.
