Giacobbe e la sua famiglia in Egitto

1 Israele partì con tutto quello che aveva e, giunto a Beer-Sceba, offrì sacrifici al Dio d’Isacco suo padre. 2 Dio parlò a Israele in visioni notturne e disse: «Giacobbe, Giacobbe!» Ed egli rispose: «Eccomi». 3 Dio disse: «Io sono Dio, il Dio di tuo padre. Non temere di scendere in Egitto, perché là ti farò diventare una grande nazione. 4 Io scenderò con te in Egitto, te ne farò anche sicuramente risalire e Giuseppe ti chiuderà gli occhi». 5 Allora Giacobbe partì da Beer-Sceba; e i figli d’Israele fecero salire Giacobbe loro padre, i loro bambini e le loro mogli sui carri che il faraone aveva mandati per trasportarli. 6 Essi presero il loro bestiame e i beni che avevano acquisiti nel paese di Canaan e scesero in Egitto: Giacobbe con tutta la sua famiglia. 7 Egli fece venire con sé in Egitto i suoi figli, i figli dei suoi figli, le sue figlie, le figlie dei suoi figli e tutta la sua famiglia. 8 Questi sono i nomi dei figli d’Israele che vennero in Egitto: Giacobbe e i suoi figli. Il primogenito di Giacobbe: Ruben. 9 I figli di Ruben: Chenoc, Pallu, Chesron e Carmi. 10 I figli di Simeone: Iemuel, Iamin, Oad, Iachin, Soar e Saul, figlio di una Cananea. 11 I figli di Levi: Gherson, Cheat e Merari. 12 I figli di Giuda: Er, Onan, Sela, Perez e Zarac; ma Er e Onan morirono nel paese di Canaan; i figli di Perez furono: Chesron e Camul. 13 I figli d’Issacar: Tola, Puva, Iob e Simron. 14 I figli di Zabulon: Sered, Elon e Ialeel. 15 Questi sono i figli che Lea partorì a Giacobbe a Paddan-Aram, oltre a Dina, figlia di lui. I suoi figli e le sue figlie erano in tutto trentatré persone. 16 I figli di Gad: Sifion, Agghi, Suni, Esbon, Eri, Arodi e Areli. 17 I figli di Ascer: Imna, Tisva, Tisvi, Beria e Serac loro sorella; i figli di Beria: Eber e Malchiel. 18 Questi furono i figli di Zilpa che Labano aveva dato a sua figlia Lea; lei li partorì a Giacobbe: in tutto sedici persone. 19 I figli di Rachele, moglie di Giacobbe: Giuseppe e Beniamino. 20 A Giuseppe, nel paese d’Egitto, nacquero Manasse ed Efraim, i quali Asenat, figlia di Potifera, sacerdote di On, gli partorì. 21 I figli di Beniamino: Bela, Becher, Asbel, Ghera, Naaman, Ei, Ros, Muppim, Cuppim e Ard. 22 Questi sono i figli di Rachele che nacquero a Giacobbe: in tutto quattordici persone. 23 I figli di Dan: Cusim. 24 I figli di Neftali: Iacseel, Guni, Ieser e Sillem. 25 Questi sono i figli di Bila, che Labano aveva dato a sua figlia Rachele; lei li partorì a Giacobbe: in tutto sette persone. 26 Le persone che vennero con Giacobbe in Egitto, discendenti da lui, senza contare le mogli dei figli di Giacobbe, erano in tutto sessantasei. 27 I figli di Giuseppe, natigli in Egitto, erano due. Il totale delle persone della famiglia di Giacobbe che vennero in Egitto era di settanta. 28 Giacobbe mandò davanti a sé Giuda verso Giuseppe, perché questi lo guidasse nel paese di Goscen. Giunsero nella terra di Goscen. 29 Giuseppe fece attaccare il suo carro e salì in Goscen a incontrare Israele, suo padre; gli si presentò, gli si gettò al collo e pianse a lungo sul suo collo. 30 Israele disse a Giuseppe: «Ora, che io muoia pure, giacché ho visto il tuo volto e tu vivi ancora!» 31 Giuseppe disse ai suoi fratelli e alla famiglia di suo padre: «Io andrò a informare il faraone e gli dirò: “I miei fratelli e la famiglia di mio padre, che erano nel paese di Canaan, sono venuti da me. 32 Questi uomini sono pastori, perché sono sempre stati allevatori di bestiame e hanno condotto con sé le loro greggi, i loro armenti e tutto quello che posseggono”. 33 Quando il faraone vi farà chiamare e vi dirà: “Qual è la vostra occupazione?”, risponderete: 34 “I tuoi servi sono stati allevatori di bestiame dalla loro infanzia fino ad ora: noi come i nostri padri”. Così abiterete nella terra di Goscen, perché gli Egiziani hanno in abominio tutti i pastori».

Jakobs Reise nach Ägypten. Seine Kinder und Enkel

1 Israel zog hin mit allem, was er hatte. Und als er nach Beerscheba kam, brachte er Schlachtopfer dar dem Gott seines Vaters Isaak. (Gen 26,23) 2 Und Gott sprach zu Israel des Nachts in einer Erscheinung: Jakob, Jakob! Er sprach: Hier bin ich. 3 Und er sprach: Ich bin Gott, der Gott deines Vaters; fürchte dich nicht, nach Ägypten hinabzuziehen; denn daselbst will ich dich zum großen Volk machen. (Gen 47,27; Eso 1,7) 4 Ich will mit dir hinab nach Ägypten ziehen und will dich auch wieder heraufführen, und Josef soll dir mit seinen Händen die Augen zudrücken. 5 Da machte sich Jakob auf von Beerscheba. Und die Söhne Israels hoben Jakob, ihren Vater, mit ihren Kindern und Frauen auf die Wagen, die der Pharao gesandt hatte, um ihn zu holen, 6 und nahmen ihr Vieh und ihre Habe, die sie im Lande Kanaan erworben hatten, und kamen so nach Ägypten, Jakob und alle seine Nachkommen mit ihm. 7 Seine Söhne und seine Enkel, seine Töchter und seine Enkelinnen und alle seine Nachkommen brachte er mit sich nach Ägypten. 8 Dies sind die Namen der Söhne Israels, die nach Ägypten kamen: Jakob und seine Söhne. Der erstgeborene Sohn Jakobs: Ruben. (Eso 1,1) 9 Die Söhne Rubens: Henoch, Pallu, Hezron und Karmi. 10 Die Söhne Simeons: Jemuël, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar und Schaul, der Sohn der Kanaaniterin. 11 Die Söhne Levis: Gerschon, Kehat und Merari. 12 Die Söhne Judas: Ger, Onan, Schela, Perez und Serach. Aber Ger und Onan waren gestorben im Lande Kanaan. Die Söhne aber des Perez: Hezron und Hamul. (Gen 38,3; Gen 38,29) 13 Die Söhne Issachars: Tola, Puwa, Jaschub und Schimron. 14 Die Söhne Sebulons: Sered, Elon und Jachleel. 15 Das sind die Söhne der Lea, die sie Jakob gebar in Paddan-Aram, dazu seine Tochter Dina. Das sind zusammen mit ihren Söhnen und Töchtern dreiunddreißig Nachkommen. 16 Die Söhne Gads: Zifjon, Haggi, Schuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arod und Areli. 17 Die Söhne Assers: Jimna, Jischwa, Jischwi, Beria, dazu Serach, ihre Schwester; und die Söhne Berias: Heber und Malkiël. 18 Das sind die Söhne der Silpa, die Laban seiner Tochter Lea gegeben hatte. Diese sechzehn gebar sie dem Jakob. (Gen 29,24) 19 Die Söhne Rahels, der Frau Jakobs: Josef und Benjamin. 20 Und dem Josef wurden geboren in Ägyptenland Manasse und Ephraim, die ihm Asenat gebar, die Tochter Potiferas, des Priesters zu On. (Gen 41,50) 21 Die Söhne Benjamins: Bela, Becher, Aschbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosch, Muppim, Huppim und Ard. 22 Das sind die Söhne der Rahel, die Jakob geboren wurden, insgesamt vierzehn. 23 Der Sohn Dans: Schuham. 24 Die Söhne Naftalis: Jachzeel, Guni, Jezer und Schillem. 25 Das sind die Söhne der Bilha, die Laban seiner Tochter Rahel gegeben hatte. Diese sieben gebar sie dem Jakob. (Gen 29,29) 26 Alle Nachkommen, die mit Jakob nach Ägypten kamen, waren sechsundsechzig, ausgenommen die Frauen seiner Söhne. (Eso 1,1) 27 Die Söhne Josefs, die in Ägypten geboren sind, waren zwei, sodass alle zusammen vom Hause Jakobs, die nach Ägypten kamen, siebzig waren.

Jakobs Wiedersehen mit Josef

28 Und Jakob sandte Juda vor sich her zu Josef, dass dieser ihm Goschen anwiese. So kamen sie in das Land Goschen. 29 Da spannte Josef seinen Wagen an und zog hinauf seinem Vater Israel entgegen nach Goschen. Und als der ihn sah, fiel er ihm um den Hals und weinte lange an seinem Halse. 30 Da sprach Israel zu Josef: Ich will nun gerne sterben, nachdem ich dein Angesicht gesehen habe, dass du noch lebst. (Gen 45,28) 31 Josef sprach zu seinen Brüdern und zu seines Vaters Hause: Ich will hinaufziehen und dem Pharao ansagen und zu ihm sprechen: Meine Brüder und meines Vaters Haus sind zu mir gekommen aus dem Lande Kanaan 32 und sind Viehhirten, denn es sind Leute, die Vieh haben; ihr Kleinvieh und Großvieh und alles, was sie haben, haben sie mitgebracht. 33 Wenn euch nun der Pharao wird rufen und sagen: Was ist euer Gewerbe?, 34 so sollt ihr sagen: Deine Knechte sind Leute, die Vieh haben, von unserer Jugend an bis jetzt, wir und unsere Väter –, damit ihr wohnen dürft im Lande Goschen. Denn alle Viehhirten sind den Ägyptern ein Gräuel. (Gen 43,32)

1 And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac. 2 And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I. 3 And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation: 4 I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again : and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes. 5 And Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him. 6 And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him: 7 His sons, and his sons'sons with him, his daughters, and his sons'daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt. 8 And these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob' firstborn. 9 And the sons of Reuben; Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi. 10 And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman. 11 And the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. 12 And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. Jacob viaja a Egipto

1 Israel emprendió el viaje con todas sus pertenencias. Al llegar a Berseba, ofreció sacrificios al Dios de su padre Isaac. 2 Esa noche Dios le habló a Israel en una visión: —¡Jacob! ¡Jacob! —Aquí estoy —respondió. 3 —Yo soy Dios, el Dios de tu padre —le dijo—. No tengas temor de ir a Egipto, porque allí haré de ti una gran nación. 4 Yo te acompañaré a Egipto, y yo mismo haré que vuelvas. Además, cuando mueras, será José quien te cierre los ojos. 5 Luego Jacob salió de Berseba, y los hijos de Israel hicieron que su padre Jacob, y sus hijos y sus mujeres, subieran en los carros que el faraón había enviado para trasladarlos. 6 También se llevaron el ganado y las posesiones que habían adquirido en Canaán. Fue así como Jacob y sus descendientes llegaron a Egipto. 7 Con él se llevó a todos sus hijos, hijas, nietos y nietas, es decir, a todos sus descendientes. 8 Éstos son los nombres de los israelitas que fueron a Egipto, es decir, Jacob y sus hijos: Rubén, el primogénito de Jacob. 9 Los hijos de Rubén: Janoc, Falú, Jezrón y Carmí. 10 Los hijos de Simeón: Jemuel, Jamín, Oad, Jaquín, Zojar y Saúl, hijo de una cananea. 11 Los hijos de Leví: Guersón, Coat y Merari. 12 Los hijos de Judá: Er, Onán, Selá, Fares y Zera. Sus descendientes eran en total dieciséis personas. 19 Los hijos de Raquel, la esposa de Jacob: José y Benjamín. 20 En Egipto, José tuvo los siguientes hijos con Asenat, hija de Potifera, sacerdote de On: Manasés y Efraín. 21 Los hijos de Benjamín: Bela, Béquer, Asbel, Guerá, Naamán, Ehí, Ros, Mupín, Jupín y Ard. 22 Éstos fueron los descendientes de Jacob y Raquel, en total catorce personas. 23 El hijo de Dan: Jusín. 24 Los hijos de Neftalí: Yazel, Guní, Jéser y Silén. 25 Éstos fueron los hijos que Jacob tuvo con Bilhá. Ella era la esclava que Labán le regaló a su hija Raquel. El total de sus descendientes fue de siete personas. 26 Todos los familiares de Jacob que llegaron a Egipto, y que eran de su misma sangre, fueron sesenta y seis, sin contar a las nueras. 27 José tenía dos hijos que le nacieron en Egipto. En total los familiares de Jacob que llegaron a Egipto fueron setenta. 28 Jacob mandó a Judá que se adelantara para que le anunciara a José su llegada y éste lo recibiera en Gosén. Cuando llegaron a esa región, 29 José hizo que prepararan su carruaje, y salió a Gosén para recibir a su padre Israel. Cuando se encontraron, José se fundió con su padre en un abrazo, y durante un largo rato lloró sobre su hombro. 30 Entonces Israel le dijo a José: —¡Ya me puedo morir! ¡Te he visto y aún estás con vida! 31 José les dijo a sus hermanos y a la familia de su padre: —Voy a informarle al faraón que mis hermanos y la familia de mi padre, quienes vivían en Canaán, han venido a quedarse conmigo. 32 Le diré que ustedes son pastores que cuidan ganado, y que han traído sus ovejas y sus vacas, y todo cuanto tenían. 33 Por eso, cuando el faraón los llame y les pregunte a qué se dedican, 34 díganle que siempre se han ocupado de cuidar ganado, al igual que sus antepasados. Así podrán establecerse en la región de Gosén, pues los egipcios detestan el oficio de pastor.
