Il peccato di Adamo e la prima promessa

1 Il serpente era il più astuto di tutti gli animali dei campi che Dio il Signore aveva fatti. Esso disse alla donna: «Come! Dio vi ha detto di non mangiare da nessun albero del giardino?» 2 La donna rispose al serpente: «Del frutto degli alberi del giardino ne possiamo mangiare; 3 ma del frutto dell’albero che è in mezzo al giardino Dio ha detto: “Non ne mangiate e non lo toccate, altrimenti morirete”». 4 Il serpente disse alla donna: «No, non morirete affatto; 5 ma Dio sa che nel giorno che ne mangerete, i vostri occhi si apriranno e sarete come Dio, avendo la conoscenza del bene e del male». 6 La donna osservò che l’albero era buono per nutrirsi, che era bello da vedere e che l’albero era desiderabile per acquistare conoscenza; prese del frutto, ne mangiò e ne diede anche a suo marito, che era con lei, ed egli ne mangiò. 7 Allora si aprirono gli occhi ad entrambi e si accorsero che erano nudi; unirono delle foglie di fico e se ne fecero delle cinture. 8 Poi udirono la voce di Dio il Signore, il quale camminava nel giardino sul far della sera; e l’uomo e sua moglie si nascosero dalla presenza di Dio il Signore fra gli alberi del giardino. 9 Dio il Signore chiamò l’uomo e gli disse: «Dove sei?» 10 Egli rispose: «Ho udito la tua voce nel giardino e ho avuto paura, perché ero nudo, e mi sono nascosto». 11 Dio disse: «Chi ti ha mostrato che eri nudo? Hai forse mangiato del frutto dell’albero che ti avevo comandato di non mangiare?» 12 L’uomo rispose: «La donna che tu mi hai messa accanto, è lei che mi ha dato del frutto dell’albero, e io ne ho mangiato». 13 Dio il Signore disse alla donna: «Perché hai fatto questo?» La donna rispose: «Il serpente mi ha ingannata e io ne ho mangiato». 14 Allora Dio il Signore disse al serpente: «Poiché hai fatto questo, sarai il maledetto fra tutto il bestiame e fra tutte le bestie selvatiche! Tu camminerai sul tuo ventre e mangerai polvere tutti i giorni della tua vita. 15 Io porrò inimicizia fra te e la donna, e fra la tua progenie e la progenie di lei; questa progenie ti schiaccerà il capo e tu le ferirai il calcagno». 16 Alla donna disse: «Io moltiplicherò grandemente le tue pene e i dolori della tua gravidanza; con dolore partorirai figli; i tuoi desideri si volgeranno verso tuo marito ed egli dominerà su di te». 17 Ad Adamo disse: «Poiché hai dato ascolto alla voce di tua moglie e hai mangiato del frutto dall’albero circa il quale io ti avevo ordinato di non mangiarne, il suolo sarà maledetto per causa tua; ne mangerai il frutto con affanno tutti i giorni della tua vita. 18 Esso ti produrrà spine e rovi, e tu mangerai l’erba dei campi; 19 mangerai il pane con il sudore del tuo volto, finché tu ritorni nella terra da cui fosti tratto; perché sei polvere e in polvere ritornerai». 20 L’uomo chiamò sua moglie Eva^[1], perché è stata la madre di tutti i viventi. 21 Dio il Signore fece ad Adamo e a sua moglie delle tuniche di pelle, e li vestì. 22 Poi Dio il Signore disse: «Ecco, l’uomo è diventato come uno di noi, quanto alla conoscenza del bene e del male. Guardiamo che egli non stenda la mano e prenda anche del frutto dell’albero della vita, ne mangi e viva per sempre». 23 Perciò Dio il Signore mandò via l’uomo dal giardino di Eden, perché lavorasse la terra da cui era stato tratto. 24 Così egli scacciò l’uomo e pose a oriente del giardino di Eden i cherubini, che vibravano da ogni parte una spada fiammeggiante, per custodire la via dell’albero della vita.

1 Und die Schlange war listiger als alle Tiere auf dem Felde, die Gott der HERR gemacht hatte, und sprach zu der Frau: Ja, sollte Gott gesagt haben: Ihr sollt nicht essen von allen Bäumen im Garten? (Ap 12,9; Ap 20,2) 2 Da sprach die Frau zu der Schlange: Wir essen von den Früchten der Bäume im Garten; (Gen 2,16) 3 aber von den Früchten des Baumes mitten im Garten hat Gott gesagt: Esset nicht davon, rühret sie auch nicht an, dass ihr nicht sterbet! (Gen 2,17) 4 Da sprach die Schlange zur Frau: Ihr werdet keineswegs des Todes sterben, (Giov 8,44) 5 sondern Gott weiß: an dem Tage, da ihr davon esst, werden eure Augen aufgetan, und ihr werdet sein wie Gott und wissen, was gut und böse ist. 6 Und die Frau sah, dass von dem Baum gut zu essen wäre und dass er eine Lust für die Augen wäre und verlockend, weil er klug machte. Und sie nahm von seiner Frucht und aß und gab ihrem Mann, der bei ihr war, auch davon und er aß. (1Ti 2,14; Giac 1,14) 7 Da wurden ihnen beiden die Augen aufgetan und sie wurden gewahr, dass sie nackt waren, und flochten Feigenblätter zusammen und machten sich Schurze. (Gen 2,25) 8 Und sie hörten Gott den HERRN, wie er im Garten ging, als der Tag kühl geworden war. Und Adam versteckte sich mit seiner Frau vor dem Angesicht Gottes des HERRN zwischen den Bäumen im Garten. (Sal 139,7; Ger 23,24) 9 Und Gott der HERR rief Adam und sprach zu ihm: Wo bist du? 10 Und er sprach: Ich hörte dich im Garten und fürchtete mich; denn ich bin nackt, darum versteckte ich mich. 11 Und er sprach: Wer hat dir gesagt, dass du nackt bist? Hast du gegessen von dem Baum, von dem ich dir gebot, du solltest nicht davon essen? 12 Da sprach Adam: Die Frau, die du mir zugesellt hast, gab mir von dem Baum und ich aß. 13 Da sprach Gott der HERR zur Frau: Warum hast du das getan? Die Frau sprach: Die Schlange betrog mich, sodass ich aß. (2Co 11,3) 14 Da sprach Gott der HERR zu der Schlange: Weil du das getan hast, seist du verflucht vor allem Vieh und allen Tieren auf dem Felde. Auf deinem Bauche sollst du kriechen und Staub fressen dein Leben lang. 15 Und ich will Feindschaft setzen zwischen dir und der Frau und zwischen deinem Samen und ihrem Samen; er wird dir den Kopf zertreten, und du wirst ihn in die Ferse stechen. (Ap 12,4; Ap 12,15) 16 Und zur Frau sprach er: Ich will dir viel Mühsal schaffen, wenn du schwanger wirst; unter Mühen sollst du Kinder gebären. Und dein Verlangen soll nach deinem Mann sein, aber er soll dein Herr sein. (Ef 5,22; 1Ti 2,12) 17 Und zum Mann sprach er: Weil du gehorcht hast der Stimme deiner Frau und gegessen von dem Baum, von dem ich dir gebot und sprach: Du sollst nicht davon essen –, verflucht sei der Acker um deinetwillen! Mit Mühsal sollst du dich von ihm nähren dein Leben lang. (Gen 8,21; Giob 31,38) 18 Dornen und Disteln soll er dir tragen, und du sollst das Kraut auf dem Felde essen. 19 Im Schweiße deines Angesichts sollst du dein Brot essen, bis du wieder zu Erde wirst, davon du genommen bist. 20 Und Adam nannte seine Frau Eva; denn sie wurde die Mutter aller, die da leben. 21 Und Gott der HERR machte Adam und seiner Frau Röcke von Fellen und zog sie ihnen an. 22 Und Gott der HERR sprach: Siehe, der Mensch ist geworden wie unsereiner und weiß, was gut und böse ist. Nun aber, dass er nur nicht ausstrecke seine Hand und nehme auch von dem Baum des Lebens und esse und lebe ewiglich! 23 Da wies ihn Gott der HERR aus dem Garten Eden, dass er die Erde bebaute, von der er genommen war. 1 La serpiente era más astuta que todos los animales del campo que Dios el Señor había hecho, así que le preguntó a la mujer: —¿Es verdad que Dios les dijo que no comieran de ningún árbol del jardín? 2 —Podemos comer del fruto de todos los árboles —respondió la mujer—. 3 Pero, en cuanto al fruto del árbol que está en medio del jardín, Dios nos ha dicho: “No coman de ese árbol, ni lo toquen; de lo contrario, morirán.” 4 Pero la serpiente le dijo a la mujer: —¡No es cierto, no van a morir! 5 Dios sabe muy bien que, cuando coman de ese árbol, se les abrirán los ojos y llegarán a ser como Dios, conocedores del bien y del mal. 6 La mujer vio que el fruto del árbol era bueno para comer, y que tenía buen aspecto y era deseable para adquirir sabiduría, así que tomó de su fruto y comió. Luego le dio a su esposo, y también él comió. 7 En ese momento se les abrieron los ojos, y tomaron conciencia de su desnudez. Por eso, para cubrirse entretejieron hojas de higuera. 8 Cuando el día comenzó a refrescar, oyeron el hombre y la mujer que Dios andaba recorriendo el jardín; entonces corrieron a esconderse entre los árboles, para que Dios no los viera. 9 Pero Dios el Señor llamó al hombre y le dijo: —¿Dónde estás? 10 El hombre contestó: —Escuché que andabas por el jardín, y tuve miedo porque estoy desnudo. Por eso me escondí. 11 —¿Y quién te ha dicho que estás desnudo? —le preguntó Dios—. ¿Acaso has comido del fruto del árbol que yo te prohibí comer? 12 Él respondió: —La mujer que me diste por compañera me dio de ese fruto, y yo lo comí. 13 Entonces Dios el Señor le preguntó a la mujer: —¿Qué es lo que has hecho? —La serpiente me engañó, y comí —contestó ella. 14 Dios el Señor dijo entonces a la serpiente: «Por causa de lo que has hecho, ¡maldita serás entre todos los animales, tanto domésticos como salvajes! Te arrastrarás sobre tu vientre, y comerás polvo todos los días de tu vida. 15 Pondré enemistad entre tú y la mujer, y entre tu simiente y la de ella; su simiente te aplastará la cabeza, pero tú le morderás el talón.» 16 A la mujer le dijo: «Multiplicaré tus dolores en el parto, y darás a luz a tus hijos con dolor. Desearás a tu marido, y él te dominará.» 17 Al hombre le dijo: «Por cuanto le hiciste caso a tu mujer, y comiste del árbol del que te prohibí comer, ¡maldita será la tierra por tu culpa! Con penosos trabajos comerás de ella todos los días de tu vida. 18 La tierra te producirá cardos y espinas, y comerás hierbas silvestres. 19 Te ganarás el pan con el sudor de tu frente, hasta que vuelvas a la misma tierra de la cual fuiste sacado. Porque polvo eres, y al polvo volverás.» 20 El hombre llamó Eva^[1] a su mujer, porque ella sería la madre de todo ser viviente. 21 Dios el Señor hizo ropa de pieles para el hombre y su mujer, y los vistió. 22 Y dijo: «El ser humano ha llegado a ser como uno de nosotros, pues tiene conocimiento del bien y del mal. No vaya a ser que extienda su mano y también tome del fruto del árbol de la vida, y lo coma y viva para siempre.» 23 Entonces Dios el Señor expulsó al ser humano del jardín del Edén, para que trabajara la tierra de la cual había sido hecho. 24 Luego de expulsarlo, puso al oriente del jardín del Edén a los querubines, y una espada ardiente que se movía por todos lados, para custodiar el camino que lleva al árbol de la vida.
