Saul unto re d’Israele

1 Allora Samuele prese un vasetto d’olio, lo versò sul capo di lui, baciò Saul e disse: «Il Signore non ti ha forse unto perché tu sia capo della sua eredità^[1]? 2 Oggi, quando tu sarai partito da me, troverai due uomini presso la tomba di Rachele, ai confini di Beniamino, a Selsa, i quali ti diranno: “Le asine che stavi cercando sono state trovate; tuo padre non è più in pensiero per le asine, ma è in pena per voi e si domanda: ‘Che dovrei fare per mio figlio?’”. 3 Quando sarai andato oltre e arriverai alla quercia di Tabor, incontrerai tre uomini che salgono ad adorare Dio a Betel. Uno di loro porterà tre capretti, l’altro tre pani e il terzo un otre di vino. 4 Essi ti saluteranno e ti daranno due pani, che riceverai dalla loro mano. 5 Poi arriverai a Ghibea di Dio dove c’è la guarnigione dei Filistei; entrando in città, incontrerai una schiera di profeti che scendono dall’alto luogo, preceduti da saltèri, timpani, flauti e cetre. Essi profetizzeranno. 6 Lo Spirito del Signore t’investirà, e tu profetizzerai con loro e sarai cambiato in un altro uomo. 7 Quando questi segni saranno avvenuti, fa’ quello che avrai occasione di fare, poiché Dio è con te. 8 Poi scenderai prima di me a Ghilgal; e io scenderò verso di te per offrire olocausti e sacrifici di riconoscenza. Tu aspetterai sette giorni finché io giunga da te e ti faccia sapere quello che devi fare». 9 Non appena egli ebbe voltato le spalle per separarsi da Samuele, Dio gli cambiò il cuore e tutti quei segni si verificarono in quel medesimo giorno. 10 Appena giunsero a Ghibea, una schiera di profeti si fece incontro a Saul; allora lo Spirito di Dio lo investì ed egli si mise a profetizzare in mezzo a loro. 11 Tutti quelli che lo avevano conosciuto prima lo videro profetizzare con i profeti e dicevano l’uno all’altro: «Che è mai accaduto al figlio di Chis? Saul è anche lui tra i profeti?» 12 Un uomo del luogo rispose e disse: «Chi è il loro padre?» Di qui venne il proverbio: «Saul è anche lui tra i profeti?» 13 Quando Saul ebbe finito di profetizzare, si recò all’alto luogo. 14 Lo zio di Saul disse a lui e al suo servo: «Dove siete andati?» Saul rispose: «A cercare le asine; ma, vedendo che non riuscivamo a trovarle, siamo andati da Samuele». 15 Lo zio di Saul disse: «Raccontami, ti prego, quello che vi ha detto Samuele». 16 Saul rispose a suo zio: «Egli ci ha assicurato che le asine erano state ritrovate». Ma di quello che Samuele aveva detto riguardo al regno non gli riferì nulla. 17 Poi Samuele convocò il popolo davanti al Signore a Mispa 18 e disse ai figli d’Israele: «Così dice il Signore, il Dio d’Israele: “Io feci salire Israele dall’Egitto e vi liberai dalle mani degli Egiziani e dalle mani di tutti i regni che vi opprimevano”. 19 Ma oggi voi respingete il vostro Dio che vi salvò da tutti i vostri mali e da tutte le vostre angosce, e gli dite: “Stabilisci su di noi un re!” Dunque presentatevi davanti al Signore per tribù e per migliaia». 20 Poi Samuele fece accostare tutte le tribù d’Israele e la tribù di Beniamino fu designata dalla sorte. 21 Fece quindi accostare la tribù di Beniamino secondo le sue famiglie e la famiglia di Matri fu designata dalla sorte. Poi fu designato Saul, figlio di Chis; e lo cercarono, ma senza riuscire a trovarlo. 22 Allora consultarono di nuovo il Signore: «Quell’uomo è già venuto qua?» Il Signore rispose: «Guardate, si è nascosto fra i bagagli». 23 Corsero a farlo uscire di là; e quando egli si presentò in mezzo al popolo, era più alto di tutta la gente, dalle spalle in su. 24 Samuele disse a tutto il popolo: «Vedete colui che il Signore si è scelto? Non c’è nessuno come lui in tutto il popolo». Tutto il popolo mandò grida di gioia esclamando: «Viva il re!» 25 Allora Samuele espose al popolo la legge del regno e la scrisse in un libro, che depose davanti al Signore. Poi Samuele rimandò tutto il popolo, ciascuno a casa sua. 26 Anche Saul andò a casa sua a Ghibea e con lui andarono gli uomini valorosi a cui Dio aveva toccato il cuore. 27 Ma degli uomini malvagi dissero: «Come potrebbe salvarci costui?» Lo disprezzarono e non gli portarono regali. Ma egli fece finta di non udire.

1 Da nahm Samuel den Krug mit Öl und goss es auf sein Haupt und küsste ihn und sprach: Siehe, der HERR hat dich zum Fürsten über sein Erbteil gesalbt. 2 Wenn du jetzt von mir gehst, so wirst du zwei Männer finden bei dem Grabe Rahels an der Grenze Benjamins bei Zelzach; die werden zu dir sagen: Die Eselinnen sind gefunden, die du zu suchen ausgezogen bist; aber siehe, dein Vater hat die Eselinnen nicht mehr im Sinn und sorgt sich um euch und spricht: Was soll ich wegen meines Sohnes tun? (Gen 35,19) 3 Und wenn du von da weitergehst, wirst du zur Eiche Tabor kommen; dort werden dich drei Männer treffen, die hinaufgehen zu Gott nach Bethel. Einer trägt drei Böcklein, der andere drei Brote, der dritte einen Krug mit Wein. 4 Und sie werden dich freundlich grüßen und dir zwei Brote geben. Die sollst du von ihren Händen annehmen. 5 Danach wirst du nach Gibea Gottes kommen, wo die Wache der Philister ist; und wenn du dort in die Stadt kommst, wird dir eine Schar von Propheten begegnen, die von der Höhe herabkommen, und vor ihnen her Harfe und Pauke und Flöte und Zither, und sie werden in Verzückung sein. 6 Und der Geist des HERRN wird über dich kommen, dass du mit ihnen in Verzückung gerätst; da wirst du umgewandelt und ein anderer Mensch werden. (Giudic 13,25; 1Sam 18,10; 1Sam 19,20) 7 Wenn für dich nun diese Zeichen eintreffen, so tu, was dir vor die Hand kommt; denn Gott ist mit dir. 8 Du sollst aber vor mir hinabgehen nach Gilgal; siehe, da will ich zu dir hinabkommen, um Brandopfer und Dankopfer zu opfern. Sieben Tage sollst du warten, bis ich zu dir komme und dir kundtue, was du tun sollst. (1Sam 13,8) 9 Und als Saul sich wandte, um von Samuel wegzugehen, gab ihm Gott ein anderes Herz, und alle diese Zeichen trafen ein an demselben Tag. 10 Und als sie nach Gibea kamen, siehe, da kam ihm eine Prophetenschar entgegen, und der Geist Gottes geriet über ihn, dass er mit ihnen in Verzückung geriet. (1Sam 19,20) 11 Als aber alle, die ihn von früher gekannt hatten, sahen, dass er mit den Propheten in Verzückung war, sprachen die Leute untereinander: Was ist nur mit dem Sohn des Kisch geschehen? Ist Saul auch unter den Propheten? 12 Und einer von dort antwortete und sprach: Wer ist denn schon ihr Vater? Daher ist das Sprichwort gekommen: Ist Saul auch unter den Propheten? 13 Und als seine Verzückung aufgehört hatte, kam er nach Gibea. 14 Es sprach aber Sauls Oheim zu ihm und zu seinem Knecht: Wo seid ihr hingegangen? Er antwortete: Die Eselinnen zu suchen; und als wir sahen, dass sie nicht da waren, gingen wir zu Samuel. 15 Da sprach der Oheim Sauls: Sage mir doch, was sagte euch Samuel? 16 Saul antwortete seinem Oheim: Er sagte uns, dass die Eselinnen gefunden seien. Aber was Samuel von dem Königtum gesagt hatte, sagte er ihm nicht.

Saul wird zum König gewählt

17 Samuel aber rief das Volk zusammen zum HERRN nach Mizpa (1Sam 7,5) 18 und sprach zu den Israeliten: So sagt der HERR, der Gott Israels: Ich habe Israel aus Ägypten geführt und euch aus der Hand der Ägypter errettet und aus der Hand aller Königreiche, die euch bedrängten. (Eso 29,46) 19 Ihr aber habt heute euren Gott verworfen, der euch aus aller eurer Not und Bedrängnis geholfen hat, und habt gesprochen: Nein, setze vielmehr einen König über uns! Wohlan, so tretet nun vor den HERRN nach euren Stämmen und Tausendschaften! (1Sam 8,7) 20 Als nun Samuel alle Stämme Israels herantreten ließ, fiel das Los auf den Stamm Benjamin. (Gios 7,16; 1Sam 14,41) 21 Und als er den Stamm Benjamin herantreten ließ mit seinen Geschlechtern, fiel das Los auf das Geschlecht Matri, und als er das Geschlecht Matri herantreten ließ, Mann für Mann^[1], fiel das Los auf Saul, den Sohn des Kisch. Und sie suchten ihn, aber sie fanden ihn nicht. 22 Da befragten sie abermals den HERRN: Ist der Mann hierhergekommen? Der HERR antwortete: Siehe, er hat sich bei dem Tross versteckt. 23 Da liefen sie hin und holten ihn von dort. Und als er unter das Volk trat, war er um eine Haupteslänge größer als alles Volk. 24 Und Samuel sprach zu allem Volk: Da seht ihr, wen der HERR erwählt hat; denn ihm ist keiner gleich im ganzen Volk. Da jauchzte das ganze Volk und sprach: Es lebe der König! (Mat 21,9) 25 Samuel aber tat dem Volk das Recht des Königtums kund und schrieb’s in ein Buch und legte es vor dem HERRN nieder. Und Samuel entließ das ganze Volk, einen jeden in sein Haus. (De 17,14) 26 Auch Saul ging heim nach Gibea, und mit ihm gingen die vom Heer, denen Gott das Herz gerührt hatte. 27 Aber einige ruchlose Leute sprachen: Was soll der uns helfen? Und sie verachteten ihn und brachten ihm kein Geschenk. Aber er tat, als hörte er’s nicht. (1Sam 11,12)

Ellos te dirán: “Ya encontramos las burras que andabas buscando. Pero tu padre ya no piensa en las burras, sino que ahora está preocupado por ustedes y se pregunta: ‘¿Qué puedo hacer para encontrar a mi hijo?’ ” 3 »Más adelante, cuando llegues a la encina de Tabor, te encontrarás con tres hombres que se dirigen a Betel para adorar a Dios. Uno de ellos lleva tres cabritos; otro, tres panes; y el otro, un odre de vino. 4 Después de saludarte, te entregarán dos panes. 9 Cuando Saúl se dio vuelta para alejarse de Samuel, Dios le cambió el corazón, y ese mismo día se cumplieron todas esas señales. 10 En efecto, al llegar Saúl y su criado a Guibeá, un grupo de profetas les salió al encuentro. Entonces el Espíritu de Dios vino con poder sobre Saúl, quien cayó en trance profético junto con ellos. 11 Los que desde antes lo conocían, al verlo profetizar junto con los profetas se preguntaban unos a otros: —¿Qué le pasa a Saúl hijo de Quis? ¿Acaso él también es uno de los profetas? 12 Alguien que vivía allí replicó: —¿Y quién es el responsable^[2] de ellos? De ahí viene el dicho: «¿Acaso también Saúl es uno de los profetas?» 13 Cuando Saúl acabó de profetizar, subió al santuario del cerro. 14 Su tío les preguntó a él y a su criado: —¿Y ustedes dónde estaban? —Andábamos buscando las burras —respondió Saúl—; pero como no dábamos con ellas, fuimos a ver a Samuel. 15 —Cuéntame lo que les dijo Samuel —pidió el tío de Saúl. 16 —Nos aseguró que ya habían encontrado las burras.
