Salmo 107

English Standard Version

di Crossway
1 Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! (Sal 100,5; Sal 105,1)2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble[1] (Sal 106,10; Is 62,12; Is 63,4)3 and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south. (De 30,3; Sal 106,47; Is 11,12; Is 43,5; Is 56,8; Ger 29,14; Ger 31,8; Ger 31,10; Ez 20,34; Ez 20,41; Ez 39,27)4 Some wandered in desert wastes, finding no way to a city to dwell in; (De 32,10; Sal 107,36; Sal 107,40)5 hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them. (Sal 77,3)6 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. (Sal 106,44; Sal 107,19; Sal 107,28)7 He led them by a straight way till they reached a city to dwell in. (Esd 8,21; Sal 107,4)8 Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! (Sal 107,21; Sal 107,31)9 For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things. (Sal 34,10; Sal 146,7; Lu 1,53)10 Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in affliction and in irons, (Giob 10,21; Giob 36,8; Sal 107,14; Is 42,7; Is 49,9; Mi 7,8; Lu 1,79)11 for they had rebelled against the words of God, and spurned the counsel of the Most High. (De 31,20; Sal 78,40; Sal 106,7; Sal 106,33; Sal 106,43; Prov 1,30; Prov 5,12; Prov 15,5; Lu 7,30)12 So he bowed their hearts down with hard labor; they fell down, with none to help. (Sal 22,11)13 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. (Sal 107,19; Sal 107,28)14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds apart. (Sal 2,3; Sal 10,1)15 Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! (Sal 107,21; Sal 107,31)16 For he shatters the doors of bronze and cuts in two the bars of iron. (Is 45,2)17 Some were fools through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction; (Prov 1,7; Prov 14,9)18 they loathed any kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death. (Giob 33,20; Giob 33,22; Giob 38,17; Sal 88,3)19 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. (Sal 107,13; Sal 107,28)20 He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. (2Re 20,5; Giob 33,29; Giob 33,30; Sal 30,2; Sal 30,3; Sal 103,4; Sal 147,15; Sal 147,18; Mat 8,8)21 Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! (Sal 107,15; Sal 107,31)22 And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his deeds in songs of joy! (Sal 9,11; Sal 50,14; Sal 105,43; Sal 118,17)23 Some went down to the sea in ships, doing business on the great waters; (Is 42,10)24 they saw the deeds of the LORD, his wondrous works in the deep.25 For he commanded and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea. (Sal 105,31; Sal 105,34; Sal 148,8; Gion 1,4)26 They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their evil plight; (Sal 22,14; Sal 119,28)27 they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits’ end.[2] (Giob 12,25; Is 19,3; Is 24,20; Is 29,9)28 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. (Sal 107,13; Sal 107,19)29 He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. (Sal 65,7)30 Then they were glad that the waters[3] were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven.31 Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man! (Sal 107,15; Sal 107,21)32 Let them extol him in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders. (Sal 22,22; Sal 22,25; Sal 99,5)33 He turns rivers into a desert, springs of water into thirsty ground, (Is 42,15; Is 50,2)34 a fruitful land into a salty waste, because of the evil of its inhabitants. (Gen 13,10; Gen 14,3; De 29,23)35 He turns a desert into pools of water, a parched land into springs of water. (Giob 38,26; Giob 38,27; Sal 114,8; Is 35,6; Is 35,7; Is 41,18; Is 43,19; Is 43,20)36 And there he lets the hungry dwell, and they establish a city to live in; (Sal 107,4)37 they sow fields and plant vineyards and get a fruitful yield.38 By his blessing they multiply greatly, and he does not let their livestock diminish. (Gen 12,2; Gen 17,20; Eso 1,7)39 When they are diminished and brought low through oppression, evil, and sorrow,40 he pours contempt on princes and makes them wander in trackless wastes; (De 32,10; Giob 12,21; Giob 12,24)41 but he raises up the needy out of affliction and makes their families like flocks. (1Sam 2,8; Giob 21,11; Sal 113,7; Sal 113,8)42 The upright see it and are glad, and all wickedness shuts its mouth. (Giob 22,19; Sal 63,11)43 Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things; let them consider the steadfast love of the LORD. (Sal 64,9; Ger 9,12; Os 14,9)

Salmo 107

King James Version

1 O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so , whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.4 They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.6 Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.7 And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:12 Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.13 Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.15 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!16 For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.19 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.21 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;24 These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits'end.28 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.31 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.33 He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;34 A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.35 He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.36 And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;37 And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.38 He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.39 Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.40 He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.41 Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.42 The righteous shall see it , and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things , even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.
