Trionfo della potenza di Dio

1 Al direttore del coro. Per strumenti a corda. Salmo di Asaf. Canto. Dio è ben conosciuto in Giuda; il suo nome è grande in Israele. 2 Il suo tabernacolo è in Salem^[1], e la sua dimora in Sion. 3 Qua egli ha spezzato le frecce dell’arco, lo scudo, la spada e le armi da guerra. [Pausa] 4 Tremendo sei tu, o Potente, quando ritorni dalle montagne della preda. 5 I valorosi sono stati spogliati, hanno dormito il loro ultimo sonno, tutti gli uomini prodi sono stati ridotti all’impotenza. 6 Alla tua minaccia, o Dio di Giacobbe, carri e cavalli sono stati presi da torpore. 7 Tu, tu sei tremendo! E chi può resistere davanti a te quando esplode la tua ira? 8 Dal cielo facesti udire la tua sentenza; la terra ebbe paura e tacque, 9 quando Dio si alzò per giudicare, per salvare tutti gli infelici della terra. [Pausa] 10 Anche il furore degli uomini ritornerà a tua lode; ti cingerai degli ultimi avanzi dei loro furori. 11 Fate voti al Signore, al Dio vostro, e adempiteli; tutti quelli che gli stanno attorno portino doni al Tremendo. 12 Egli stronca lo spirito dei potenti, egli è tremendo per i re della terra.

1 Dem Chorleiter. Mit Saitenspiel. Ein Psalm. Von Asaf. Ein Lied. (Sal 50,1) 2 Bekannt ist Gott in Juda, in Israel ist groß sein Name. (Sal 48,2; Giov 4,22) 3 In Salem entstand seine Hütte, und seine Wohnung auf dem Zion. (Sal 9,12) 4 Dort zerstörte er des Bogens Brände^[1], Schild und Schwert und Krieg. // (Sal 37,15) 5 Glanzvoller bist du, herrlicher als die Berge des Raubes^[2]. 6 Beraubt stehen da die Heldenmütigen^[3], sie schlafen ihren Schlaf; und keiner der starken Männer findet seine Hände. (2Cr 32,21) 7 Von deinem Schelten, Gott Jakobs, sinken in tiefen Schlaf Wagen wie Ross. (Eso 15,1) 8 Du, du bist furchtbar, und wer kann vor dir bestehen, sobald du zürnst! (Ne 1,5; Na 1,6; Ap 6,17) 9 Du ließest Gericht hören vom Himmel her. Die Erde fürchtete sich und wurde stille, (Abac 2,20) 10 als Gott aufstand zum Gericht, um zu retten alle Demütigen auf Erden. // (Sal 12,6; Sal 82,8; Is 11,4) 11 Denn ⟨selbst⟩ der Grimm des Menschen wird dich preisen; ⟨auch noch⟩ mit dem Rest des Grimmes wirst du dich gürten. 12 Sprecht Gelübde und erfüllt sie dem HERRN, eurem Gott, alle, die ihr rings um ihn her seid. Bringt Geschenke dem Furchtbaren! (Sal 50,14) 13 Er demütigt den Geist der Fürsten, er ist furchtbar den Königen der Erde. (Is 24,21; Is 40,23)

1 In Judah God is known; his name is great in Israel. (Sal 48,3) 2 His abode has been established in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion. (Gen 14,18; Sal 9,11; Sal 27,5; Sal 74,2; Lam 2,6)

1 Dios es conocido en Judá; su nombre es exaltado en Israel. 2 En Salén se halla su santuario; en Sión está su morada. 3 Allí hizo pedazos las centelleantes saetas, los escudos, las espadas, las armas de guerra. Selah 4 Estás rodeado de esplendor; eres más imponente que las montañas eternas.^[1] 5 Los valientes yacen ahora despojados; han caído en el sopor de la muerte. Ninguno de esos hombres aguerridos volverá a levantar sus manos. 6 Cuando tú, Dios de Jacob, los reprendiste, quedaron pasmados jinetes y corceles. 7 Tú, y sólo tú, eres de temer. ¿Quién puede hacerte frente cuando se enciende tu enojo? 8 Desde el cielo diste a conocer tu veredicto; la tierra, temerosa, guardó silencio 9 cuando tú, oh Dios, te levantaste para juzgar, para salvar a los pobres de la tierra.
