1A Song of Ascents. Remember, O Lord, in David’s favor, all the hardships he endured, (1Cr 22,14; Sal 120,1)2how he swore to the Lord and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob, (Gen 49,24; Sal 50,14; Sal 132,5; Is 49,26; Is 60,16)3“I will not enter my house or get into my bed,4I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, (Prov 6,4)5until I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.” (1Cr 22,7; Sal 132,2; At 7,46)6Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of Jaar. (Gen 35,19; 1Sam 7,1; 1Sam 17,12)7“Let us go to his dwelling place; let us worship at his footstool!” (Sal 5,7; Sal 99,5)8Arise, O Lord, and go to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. (2Cr 6,41; Sal 68,1; Sal 78,61; Sal 132,14)9Let your priests be clothed with righteousness, and let your saints shout for joy. (Giob 29,14; Sal 132,16; Sal 149,5)10For the sake of your servant David, do not turn away the face of your anointed one. (1Re 1,39; 2Re 18,24; Sal 132,17)11The Lord swore to David a sure oath from which he will not turn back: “One of the sons of your body[1] I will set on your throne. (2Sam 7,12; 2Cr 6,16; Sal 89,3; Sal 89,34; Sal 110,4; Lu 1,32; At 2,30)12If your sons keep my covenant and my testimonies that I shall teach them, their sons also forever shall sit on your throne.” (1Re 8,25; Giob 36,7)13For the Lord has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling place: (Sal 68,16; Sal 78,68; Sal 135,21)14“This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it. (Sal 132,8; Mat 23,21)15I will abundantly bless her provisions; I will satisfy her poor with bread. (Ru 1,6; Sal 147,14)16Her priests I will clothe with salvation, and her saints will shout for joy. (Sal 132,9)17There I will make a horn to sprout for David; I have prepared a lamp for my anointed. (1Re 11,36; 1Re 15,4; 2Re 8,19; 2Cr 21,7; Sal 132,10; Ez 29,21; Lu 1,69)18His enemies I will clothe with shame, but on him his crown will shine.” (Giob 8,22)

King James Version
1A Song of degrees. LORD, remember David, and all his afflictions:2How he sware unto the LORD, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob;3Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;4I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,5Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.6Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.7We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.8Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.9Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.10For thy servant David' sake turn not away the face of thine anointed.11The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.12If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.13For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.14This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.15I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.16I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.17There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.18His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.
