La vedova e il giudice

1 Propose loro una parabola per mostrare che dovevano pregare sempre e non stancarsi: 2 «In una certa città vi era un giudice, che non temeva Dio e non aveva rispetto per nessuno; 3 e in quella città vi era una vedova, la quale andava da lui e diceva: “Rendimi giustizia sul mio avversario”. 4 Egli per qualche tempo non volle farlo; ma poi disse fra sé: “Benché io non tema Dio e non abbia rispetto per nessuno, 5 pure, poiché questa vedova continua a importunarmi, le renderò giustizia, perché, venendo a insistere, non finisca per rompermi la testa”». 6 Il Signore disse: «Ascoltate quel che dice il giudice ingiusto. 7 Dio non renderà dunque giustizia ai suoi eletti che giorno e notte gridano a lui? Tarderà nei loro confronti? 8 Io vi dico che renderà giustizia con prontezza. Ma quando il Figlio dell’uomo verrà, troverà la fede sulla terra?»

Il fariseo e il pubblicano

9 Disse ancora questa parabola per certuni che erano persuasi di essere giusti e disprezzavano gli altri: 10 «Due uomini salirono al tempio per pregare; uno era fariseo e l’altro pubblicano. 11 Il fariseo, stando in piedi, pregava così dentro di sé: “O Dio, ti ringrazio che io non sono come gli altri uomini, ladri, ingiusti, adùlteri; neppure come questo pubblicano. 12 Io digiuno due volte la settimana, pago la decima su tutto quello che possiedo”. 13 Ma il pubblicano se ne stava a distanza e non osava neppure alzare gli occhi al cielo; ma si batteva il petto, dicendo: “O Dio, abbi pietà di me, peccatore!” 14 Io vi dico che questo tornò a casa sua giustificato, piuttosto che quello; perché chiunque s’innalza sarà abbassato, ma chi si abbassa sarà innalzato».

Gesù benedice i bambini

15 Portavano a Gesù anche i bambini, perché li toccasse; ma i discepoli, vedendo ciò, li sgridavano. 16 Allora Gesù li chiamò a sé e disse: «Lasciate che i bambini vengano a me, e non glielo vietate, perché il regno di Dio è di chi è come loro. 17 In verità vi dico: chiunque non avrà ricevuto il regno di Dio come un bambino, non vi entrerà affatto».

Il giovane ricco

18 Uno dei capi lo interrogò, dicendo: «Maestro buono, che devo fare per ereditare la vita eterna?» 19 Gesù gli disse: «Perché mi chiami buono? Nessuno è buono, tranne uno solo, cioè Dio. 20 Tu conosci i comandamenti: Non commettere adulterio; non uccidere; non rubare; non dire falsa testimonianza; onora tuo padre e tua madre^[1]». 21 Ed egli rispose: «Tutte queste cose io le ho osservate fin dalla mia gioventù». 22 Gesù, udito questo, gli disse: «Una cosa ti manca ancora: vendi tutto quello che hai e distribuiscilo ai poveri, e avrai un tesoro nei cieli; poi vieni e seguimi». 23 Ma egli, udite queste cose, ne fu afflitto, perché era molto ricco. 24 Gesù, vedendolo {così triste}, disse: «Quanto è difficile, per quelli che hanno delle ricchezze, entrare nel regno di Dio! 25 Perché è più facile per un cammello passare attraverso la cruna di un ago, che per un ricco entrare nel regno di Dio». 26 Quelli che udirono dissero: «Chi dunque può essere salvato?» 27 Egli rispose: «Le cose impossibili agli uomini sono possibili a Dio». 28 Pietro disse: «Ecco, noi abbiamo lasciato le nostre cose e ti abbiamo seguito». 29 Ed egli disse loro: «Vi dico in verità che non c’è nessuno che abbia lasciato casa, o moglie, o fratelli, o genitori, o figli a causa del regno di Dio, 30 il quale non ne riceva molte volte tanto in questo tempo e, nell’età futura, la vita eterna».

Gesù predice per la terza volta la Passione

31 Poi prese con sé i dodici e disse loro: «Ecco, noi saliamo a Gerusalemme, e saranno compiute riguardo al Figlio dell’uomo tutte le cose scritte dai profeti. 32 Infatti egli sarà consegnato ai pagani, e sarà schernito e oltraggiato e gli sputeranno addosso; 33 e, dopo averlo flagellato, lo uccideranno; ma il terzo giorno risusciterà». 34 Ed essi non capirono nulla di tutto questo; quel discorso era per loro oscuro e non capivano ciò che Gesù voleva dire.

Gesù guarisce un cieco

35 Come egli si avvicinava a Gerico, un cieco che sedeva presso la strada, mendicando, 36 udì la folla che passava e domandò che cosa fosse. 37 Gli fecero sapere che passava Gesù il Nazareno. 38 Allora egli gridò: «Gesù, Figlio di Davide^[2], abbi pietà di me!» 39 E quelli che precedevano lo sgridavano perché tacesse; ma lui gridava più forte: «Figlio di Davide, abbi pietà di me!» 40 Gesù, fermatosi, comandò che il cieco fosse condotto a lui; e, quando gli fu vicino, gli domandò: 41 «Che vuoi che io ti faccia?» Egli disse: «Signore, che io recuperi la vista». 42 E Gesù gli disse: «Recupera la vista; la tua fede ti ha salvato». 43 Nello stesso momento recuperò la vista, e lo seguiva glorificando Dio; e tutto il popolo, visto ciò, diede lode a Dio.

Gleichnis vom ungerechten Richter

1 Er sagte ihnen aber auch ein Gleichnis dafür, dass sie allezeit beten und nicht ermatten sollten, (Lu 21,36; At 1,14; Ro 12,12; Ef 6,18; Col 4,2; 1Te 5,17)

2 und sprach: Es war ein Richter in einer Stadt, der Gott nicht fürchtete und vor keinem Menschen sich scheute. 3 Es war aber eine Witwe in jener Stadt; und sie kam zu ihm und sprach: Schaffe mir Recht gegenüber meinem Widersacher! (Is 1,17) 4 Und eine Zeit lang wollte er nicht; danach aber sprach er bei sich selbst: Wenn ich auch Gott nicht fürchte und vor keinem Menschen mich scheue, (Is 1,23) 5 so will ich doch, weil diese Witwe mir Mühe macht, ihr Recht verschaffen, damit sie nicht am Ende kommt und handgreiflich wird^[1]. (Lu 11,8) 6 Der Herr aber sprach: Hört, was der ungerechte Richter sagt! 7 Gott aber, sollte er das Recht seiner Auserwählten nicht ausführen, die Tag und Nacht zu ihm schreien, und sollte er es bei ihnen lange hinziehen? (Sal 55,18; Sal 88,2) 8 Ich sage euch, dass er ihr Recht ohne Verzug ausführen wird. Doch wird wohl der Sohn des Menschen, wenn er kommt, den Glauben finden auf der Erde?

Gleichnis vom Pharisäer und Zöllner

9 Er sprach aber auch zu einigen, die auf sich selbst vertrauten, dass sie gerecht seien, und die Übrigen verachteten, dieses Gleichnis: 10 Zwei Menschen gingen hinauf in den Tempel, um zu beten, der eine ein Pharisäer^[2] und der andere ein Zöllner. 11 Der Pharisäer stand und betete bei sich selbst so: Gott, ich danke dir, dass ich nicht bin wie die übrigen der Menschen: Räuber, Ungerechte, Ehebrecher oder auch wie dieser Zöllner. 12 Ich faste zweimal in der Woche, ich verzehnte alles, was ich erwerbe. (Mat 9,14; Mat 23,23; Lu 11,42) 13 Der Zöllner aber stand weitab und wollte sogar die Augen nicht aufheben zum Himmel, sondern schlug an seine Brust und sprach: Gott, sei mir, dem Sünder, gnädig! (Esd 9,6; Sal 51,3) 14 Ich sage euch: Dieser ging gerechtfertigt hinab in sein Haus, im Gegensatz zu jenem; denn jeder, der sich selbst erhöht, wird erniedrigt werden; wer aber sich selbst erniedrigt, wird erhöht werden. Jesus und die Kinder

15 Sie brachten aber auch die ⟨kleinen⟩ Kinder^[3] zu ihm, dass er sie anrührte. Als aber die Jünger es sahen, fuhren sie sie an. 16 Jesus aber rief sie^[4] herbei und sprach: Lasst die Kinder zu mir kommen und wehrt ihnen nicht! Denn solchen gehört das Reich^[5] Gottes. 17 Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer das Reich^[6] Gottes nicht annehmen wird wie ein Kind, wird nicht hineinkommen. (Mat 19,16; Mar 10,17)

Frage eines Reichen nach dem ewigen Leben

18 Und es fragte ihn ein Oberster und sprach: Guter Lehrer, was muss ich getan haben, um ewiges Leben zu erben? (Lu 10,25) 19 Jesus aber sprach zu ihm: Was nennst du mich gut? Niemand ist gut als nur einer, Gott. 20 Die Gebote weißt du: »Du sollst nicht ehebrechen; du sollst nicht töten; du sollst nicht stehlen; du sollst nicht falsches Zeugnis geben; ehre deinen Vater und die Mutter!« (Eso 20,12; Mat 5,21; Mat 5,27; Mat 15,4)

Dritte Leidensankündigung

31 Er nahm aber die Zwölf zu sich und sprach zu ihnen: Siehe, wir gehen hinauf nach Jerusalem, und es wird alles vollendet werden, was durch die Propheten auf den Sohn des Menschen hin geschrieben ist; (Mat 26,24; Lu 9,51; Lu 24,44) 32 denn er wird den Nationen überliefert werden und wird verspottet und geschmäht und angespien werden; (Lu 22,63; Lu 23,11) 33 und wenn sie ihn gegeißelt haben, werden sie ihn töten, und am dritten Tag wird er auferstehen. Heilung eines Blinden

35 Es geschah aber, als er sich Jericho näherte, saß ein Blinder bettelnd am Weg. 36 Und als er eine Volksmenge vorbeiziehen hörte, erkundigte er sich, was das sei. 37 Sie verkündeten ihm aber, dass Jesus, der Nazoräer^[12], vorübergehe. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? 9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. 15 And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein. 18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. 20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. 21 And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. 22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. 23 And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. 24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 26 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? 27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. 28 Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee. 29 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, 30 Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting. 31 Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. 32 For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: 33 And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. 34 And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken. 35 And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging: 36 And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant. 37 And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. 38 And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. 39 And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. 40 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him, 41 Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. 42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. 43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
