1After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” (Ex 19,19; Zjv 1,1; Zjv 1,10; Zjv 1,19; Zjv 11,12; Zjv 22,6)2At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne. (1 Kr 22,19; Ž 11,4; Ž 103,19; Iz 66,1; Mt 5,34; Mt 23,22; Zjv 1,10)3And he who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald. (Gn 9,13; Ez 1,28; Zjv 10,1; Zjv 21,11)4Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments, with golden crowns on their heads. (Jak 1,12; Zjv 3,4; Zjv 4,10; Zjv 11,16)5From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings[1] and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God, (Ex 19,16; Zach 4,2; Zjv 1,4; Zjv 8,5; Zjv 11,19; Zjv 16,18)6and before the throne there was as it were a sea of glass, like crystal. And around the throne, on each side of the throne, are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind: (Ž 77,19; Ez 1,5; Ez 10,12; Zjv 15,2; Zjv 21,18; Zjv 21,21)7the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight. (Ez 1,10; Ez 10,14)8And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” (Iz 6,2; Iz 6,3; Zjv 1,4; Zjv 4,6; Zjv 14,11)9And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, (Dan 4,34; Dan 12,7; Zjv 1,18; Zjv 5,13; Zjv 15,7)10the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying, (Zjv 4,4; Zjv 5,8; Zjv 5,14; Zjv 7,11; Zjv 11,16; Zjv 19,4)11“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” (Gn 1,1; Ž 33,9; Sk 14,15; Ef 1,11; Zjv 5,12; Zjv 10,6; Zjv 14,7)
