1 Für den Chorleiter: Ein Psalm der Nachkommen Korachs, nach der Melodie »Jungfrauen« zu singen.[1] Ein Lied. 2 Gott ist unsre Zuflucht und unsre Stärke, er hat sich als Hilfe in der Not bewährt. (5Mo 4,7; Ps 9,10; Ps 14,6; Ps 62,8; Ps 145,18) 3 Deshalb fürchten wir uns nicht, auch wenn die Erde bebt und die Berge ins Meer stürzen, (Ps 18,8; Ps 23,4; Ps 82,5) 4 wenn die Ozeane wüten und schäumen und durch ihre Wucht die Berge erzittern! 5 Ein Fluss erfrischt die Stadt unseres Gottes, die heilige Wohnung des Höchsten. (Ps 87,3; Offb 3,12; Offb 22,1) 6 Gott selbst wohnt in dieser Stadt, deshalb ist sie uneinnehmbar. Gott wird sie jeden einzelnen Tag aufs Neue beschützen. (Jes 12,6; Jes 41,14; Hes 43,7; Lk 1,54) 7 Die Völker sind in Aufruhr und Königreiche fallen, denn Gott lässt seine Stimme erschallen, und die Erde vergeht! (Ps 2,1; Mi 1,4) 8 Der allmächtige HERR ist bei uns; der Gott Israels[2] ist unser Schutz. (4Mo 14,9; 2Chr 13,12; Ps 9,10) 9 Kommt und seht die mächtigen Taten des HERRN, der Zerstörung über die Welt bringt (Ps 66,5; Jes 61,4; Jer 51,43) 10 und den Kriegen überall ein Ende setzt. Er zerbricht die Bögen und spaltet die Speere; er verbrennt die Streitwagen im Feuer. (Jes 2,4; Jes 9,4; Mi 4,3) 11 »Hört auf und erkennt, dass ich Gott bin! Ich will von allen Völkern verehrt werden, verehrt werden auf der ganzen Welt!« (Ps 100,3; Jes 2,11) 12 Der allmächtige HERR ist bei uns; der Gott Israels ist unser Schutz.

1 God is our place of safety. He gives us strength. He is always there to help us in times of trouble. 2 The earth may fall apart. The mountains may fall into the middle of the sea. But we will not be afraid. 3 The waters of the sea may roar and foam. The mountains may shake when the waters rise. But we will not be afraid. 4 God’s blessings are like a river. They fill the city of God with joy. That city is the holy place where the Most High God lives. 5 Because God is there, the city will not fall. God will help it at the beginning of the day. 6 Nations are in disorder. Kingdoms fall. God speaks, and the people of the earth melt in fear. 7 The LORD who rules over all is with us. The God of Jacob is like a fort to us. 8 Come and see what the LORD has done. See the places he has destroyed on the earth. 9 He makes wars stop from one end of the earth to the other. He breaks every bow. He snaps every spear. He burns every shield with fire. 10 He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God. I will be honoured among the nations. I will be honoured in the earth.’ 11 The LORD who rules over all is with us. The God of Jacob is like a fort to us.

1 To the choirmaster. Of the Sons of Korah. According to Alamoth.[1] A Song. God is our refuge and strength, a very present[2] help in trouble. (5Mo 4,7; 1Chr 15,20; Ps 9,9; Ps 14,6; Ps 42,1; Ps 145,18) 2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, (Ps 18,7; Hes 27,26) 3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. (Ps 93,3; Jer 5,22) 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. (Ps 36,8; Ps 43,3; Ps 48,1; Ps 65,9; Ps 84,1; Ps 87,3; Jes 8,6; Jes 33,21; Jes 60,14; Offb 22,1) 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.
