1Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.2And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps.3And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No-one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.4These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among mankind and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb.5No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.
The three angels
6Then I saw another angel flying in mid-air, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth – to every nation, tribe, language and people.7He said in a loud voice, ‘Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.’8A second angel followed and said, ‘ “Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great,” which made all the nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries.’ (Isa 21:9)9A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: ‘If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand,10they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulphur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb.11And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.’12This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus.13Then I heard a voice from heaven say, ‘Write this: blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ‘Yes,’ says the Spirit, ‘they will rest from their labour, for their deeds will follow them.’
Harvesting the earth and trampling the winepress
14I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one like a son of man[1] with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. (Da 7:13)15Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, ‘Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.’16So he who was seated on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.17Another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle.18Still another angel, who had charge of the fire, came from the altar and called in a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, ‘Take your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of grapes from the earth’s vine, because its grapes are ripe.’19The angel swung his sickle on the earth, gathered its grapes and threw them into the great winepress of God’s wrath.20They were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed out of the press, rising as high as the horses’ bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia.[2]

Sunetul pe care l‑am auzit era ca al kitharozilor[1] care cântă la kitharele lor. (Re 5:8)3Ei cântau o cântare nouă înaintea tronului și înaintea celor patru ființe vii și a bătrânilor. Nimeni nu putea să învețe acea cântare, în afară de cei o sută patruzeci și patru de mii care fuseseră răscumpărați de pe pământ.4Aceștia sunt cei care nu s‑au pângărit cu femei, căci sunt virgini. Ei Îl urmează pe Miel oriunde merge. Aceștia au fost răscumpărați dintre oameni ca prime roade pentru Dumnezeu și pentru Miel.5Și în gura lor nu s‑a găsit minciună; ei sunt fără cusur.
Mesajele celor trei îngeri
6Am văzut un alt înger, care zbura în înaltul cerului. El avea de vestit Evanghelia veșnică celor ce trăiesc pe pământ – la fiecare neam, seminție, limbă și popor.7El spunea cu glas tare: „Fiți temători de Dumnezeu și dați‑I slavă, pentru că a sosit ceasul judecății Lui! Închinați‑vă Celui Ce a făcut cerul, pământul, marea și izvoarele de apă!“8Un alt înger, al doilea, a urmat, zicând: „A căzut, a căzut Babilonul, cetatea cea mare, care a dat să bea la toate neamurile din vinul[2] furiei curviei ei[3]!“ (Isa 51:17; Jer 25:15; Eze 23:32)9Un alt înger, al treilea, le‑a urmat, zicând cu glas tare: „Dacă se închină cineva fiarei și chipului ei și primește un semn pe frunte sau pe mână,10va bea și el din vinul furiei lui Dumnezeu, turnat neamestecat[4] în paharul mâniei Lui, și va fi chinuit în foc și sulf înaintea îngerilor sfinți și înaintea Mielului.11Fumul chinului lor se ridică în vecii vecilor. Și nu au odihnă nici ziua, nici noaptea, cei ce se închină fiarei și chipului ei și cei ce primesc semnul numelui ei.“12Aici este răbdarea sfinților – a celor ce păzesc poruncile lui Dumnezeu și credința în Isus.[5]13Am auzit un glas din cer, zicând: „Scrie: fericiți sunt cei morți, cei care, de acum încolo, mor în Domnul! Da, zice Duhul, pentru că ei se vor odihni de ostenelile lor, căci faptele lor îi urmează.“14Apoi m‑am uitat și iată că era un nor alb, iar pe nor ședea „cineva care era ca un fiu al omului“[6]. Avea pe cap o coroană de aur, iar în mână avea o seceră ascuțită. (Da 7:13; Mt 13:39; Re 1:13)15Un alt înger a ieșit din Templu, strigându‑i cu glas tare celui ce ședea pe nor: „Trimite secera ta și seceră, întrucât a sosit ceasul să seceri, pentru că recolta pământului este coaptă!“16Cel ce ședea pe nor și‑a aruncat secera pe pământ și pământul a fost secerat.17Un alt înger a ieșit din Templul care este în cer, având și el o seceră ascuțită.18Un alt înger, care are autoritate peste foc, a ieșit de la altar și a strigat cu glas tare către cel ce avea secera ascuțită, zicând: „Trimite secera ta ascuțită și culege ciorchinii de struguri ai viței pământului, pentru că strugurii ei sunt copți!“19Îngerul și‑a aruncat secera pe pământ, a cules vița pământului și a aruncat strugurii în teascul cel mare al furiei lui Dumnezeu.20Teascul a fost călcat în picioare în afara cetății și din teasc a ieșit sânge până la zăbalele cailor, pe o distanță de o mie șase sute de stadii[7].
