1If any of you has a dispute with another, do you dare to take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the Lord’s people?2Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases?3Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!4Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, do you ask for a ruling from those whose way of life is scorned in the church?5I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers?6But instead, one brother takes another to court – and this in front of unbelievers!7The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?8Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters.9Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[1]10nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.11And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
Sexual immorality
12‘I have the right to do anything,’ you say – but not everything is beneficial. ‘I have the right to do anything’ – but I will not be mastered by anything.13You say, ‘Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy them both.’ The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.14By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.15Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never!16Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, ‘The two will become one flesh.’ (Ge 2:24)17But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.[2]18Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.19Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;20you were bought at a price. Therefore honour God with your bodies.
1Îndrăznește cineva dintre voi, care are o problemă[1] cu altul, să se judece cu el înaintea celor nedrepți, și nu înaintea celor sfinți?2Sau nu știți că cei sfinți vor judeca lumea? Iar dacă lumea va fi judecată prin voi, sunteți voi nevrednici[2] să judecați cazuri foarte neînsemnate?3Nu știți că noi îi vom judeca pe îngeri? Cu cât mai mult lucrurile acestei vieți!?4Dacă aveți deci cazuri privitoare la lucrurile acestei vieți, voi îi puneți judecători pe aceia care sunt desconsiderați de către biserică?![3]5Spun aceasta spre rușinea voastră. Nu există între voi nici măcar un singur om înțelept care să fie în stare să judece în mijlocul fraților săi?6Mai mult, se judecă un frate cu fratele său, și încă înaintea necredincioșilor?!7Într-adevăr, faptul că aveți judecăți între voi este deja cu totul o înfrângere pentru voi. De ce nu suferiți, mai degrabă, nedreptatea? De ce nu vă lăsați, mai degrabă, păgubiți?8Însă tocmai voi sunteți cei care nedreptățiți și păgubiți, și încă pe frați!9Sau nu știți că cei nedrepți nu vor moșteni Împărăția lui Dumnezeu? Nu vă înșelați! Nici curvarii, nici idolatrii, nici adulterii, nici catamiții[4], nici homosexualii,10nici hoții, nici cei lacomi, nici bețivii, nici bârfitorii, nici tâlharii nu vor moșteni Împărăția lui Dumnezeu.11Și așa erați unii dintre voi. Dar ați fost curățiți, ați fost sfințiți, ați fost îndreptățiți în Numele Domnului Isus Cristos și prin Duhul Dumnezeului nostru.
Despre curvie
12„Toate îmi sunt îngăduite“ – dar nu toate îmi sunt de folos. „Toate îmi sunt îngăduite“ – dar nu voi fi stăpânit de nimic!13„Mâncărurile sunt pentru stomac, iar stomacul este pentru mâncăruri“, și Dumnezeu le va distruge și pe unul, și pe celelalte. Dar trupul nu este pentru curvie, ci este pentru Domnul, iar Domnul pentru trup.14Și Dumnezeu L‑a înviat pe Domnul și ne va învia și pe noi prin puterea Lui.15Nu știți că trupurile voastre sunt mădulare ale lui Cristos? Așadar, voi lua eu mădularele lui Cristos și le voi face mădulare ale unei prostituate?! În niciun caz!16Sau nu știți că cel ce se unește cu o prostituată este un singur trup cu ea? Căci este spus: „Cei doi vor fi un singur trup.“[5] (Ge 2:24)17Dar cel ce se unește cu Domnul este un singur duh cu El.18Fugiți de curvie[6]! Toate celelalte păcate pe care le face omul sunt în afara trupului, dar cine curvește, păcătuiește împotriva propriului său trup.19Sau nu știți că trupul vostru este templul Duhului Sfânt Care este în voi, pe Care‑L aveți de la Dumnezeu, și că voi nu sunteți ai voștri?20Căci ați fost cumpărați cu un preț. Slăviți‑L deci pe Dumnezeu în trupul și în duhul vostru, care sunt ale lui Dumnezeu.
