1 So Bezalel, Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the sanctuary are to do the work just as the Lord has commanded.’ 2 Then Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord had given ability and who was willing to come and do the work. 3 They received from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought to carry out the work of constructing the sanctuary. And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning. 4 So all the skilled workers who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left what they were doing 5 and said to Moses, ‘The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the Lord commanded to be done.’ 6 Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: ‘No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.’ And so the people were restrained from bringing more, 7 because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work.

The tabernacle

8 All those who were skilled among the workers made the tabernacle with ten curtains of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn, with cherubim woven into them by expert hands. 9 All the curtains were the same size – twenty-eight cubits long and four cubits wide.^[1] 10 They joined five of the curtains together and did the same with the other five. 11 Then they made loops of blue material along the edge of the end curtain in one set, and the same was done with the end curtain in the other set. 12 They also made fifty loops on one curtain and fifty loops on the end curtain of the other set, with the loops opposite each other. 13 Then they made fifty gold clasps and used them to fasten the two sets of curtains together so that the tabernacle was a unit. 14 They made curtains of goat hair for the tent over the tabernacle – eleven altogether. 15 All eleven curtains were the same size – thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.^[2] 16 They joined five of the curtains into one set and the other six into another set. 17 Then they made fifty loops along the edge of the end curtain in one set and also along the edge of the end curtain in the other set. 18 They made fifty bronze clasps to fasten the tent together as a unit. 19 Then they made for the tent a covering of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of other durable leather.^[3] 20 They made upright frames of acacia wood for the tabernacle. 21 Each frame was ten cubits long and a cubit and a half wide,^[4] 22 with two projections set parallel to each other. They made all the frames of the tabernacle in this way. 23 They made twenty frames for the south side of the tabernacle 24 and made forty silver bases to go under them – two bases for each frame, one under each projection. 25 For the other side, the north side of the tabernacle, they made twenty frames 26 and forty silver bases – two under each frame. 27 They made six frames for the far end, that is, the west end of the tabernacle, 28 and two frames were made for the corners of the tabernacle at the far end. 29 At these two corners the frames were double from the bottom all the way to the top and fitted into a single ring; both were made alike. 30 So there were eight frames and sixteen silver bases – two under each frame. 31 They also made crossbars of acacia wood: five for the frames on one side of the tabernacle, 32 five for those on the other side, and five for the frames on the west, at the far end of the tabernacle. 33 They made the centre crossbar so that it extended from end to end at the middle of the frames. 34 They overlaid the frames with gold and made gold rings to hold the crossbars. They also overlaid the crossbars with gold. 35 They made the curtain of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen, with cherubim woven into it by a skilled worker. 36 They made four posts of acacia wood for it and overlaid them with gold. They made gold hooks for them and cast their four silver bases. 37 For the entrance to the tent they made a curtain of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen – the work of an embroiderer; 38 and they made five posts with hooks for them. They overlaid the tops of the posts and their bands with gold and made their five bases of bronze.

And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning. 4 And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came every man from his work which they made; 5 And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the LORD commanded to make. 6 And Moses gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing. 7 For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much. 8 And every wise hearted man among them that wrought the work of the tabernacle made ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work made he them. 9 The length of one curtain was twenty and eight cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: the curtains were all of one size. 10 And he coupled the five curtains one unto another: and the other five curtains he coupled one unto another. 11 And he made loops of blue on the edge of one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling: likewise he made in the uttermost side of another curtain, in the coupling of the second. 12 Fifty loops made he in one curtain, and fifty loops made he in the edge of the curtain which was in the coupling of the second: the loops held one curtain to another. 13 And he made fifty taches of gold, and coupled the curtains one unto another with the taches: so it became one tabernacle. 14 And he made curtains of goats'hair for the tent over the tabernacle: eleven curtains he made them. 15 The length of one curtain was thirty cubits, and four cubits was the breadth of one curtain: the eleven curtains were of one size. 16 And he coupled five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves. 17 And he made fifty loops upon the uttermost edge of the curtain in the coupling, and fifty loops made he upon the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second. 18 And he made fifty taches of brass to couple the tent together, that it might be one. 19 And he made a covering for the tent of rams'skins dyed red, and a covering of badgers'skins above that . 20 And he made boards for the tabernacle of shittim wood, standing up. 21 The length of a board was ten cubits, and the breadth of a board one cubit and a half. 22 One board had two tenons, equally distant one from another: thus did he make for all the boards of the tabernacle. 23 And he made boards for the tabernacle; twenty boards for the south side southward: 24 And forty sockets of silver he made under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for his two tenons, and two sockets under another board for his two tenons. 25 And for the other side of the tabernacle, which is toward the north corner, he made twenty boards, 26 And their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board. 27 And for the sides of the tabernacle westward he made six boards. 28 And two boards made he for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides. 29 And they were coupled beneath, and coupled together at the head thereof, to one ring: thus he did to both of them in both the corners. 30 And there were eight boards; and their sockets were sixteen sockets of silver, under every board two sockets. 31 And he made bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle, 32 And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle for the sides westward. 33 And he made the middle bar to shoot through the boards from the one end to the other. 34 And he overlaid the boards with gold, and made their rings of gold to be places for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold. 35 And he made a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen: with cherubims made he it of cunning work. 36 And he made thereunto four pillars of shittim wood , and overlaid them with gold: their hooks were of gold; and he cast for them four sockets of silver. 37 And he made an hanging for the tabernacle door of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, of needlework; 38 And the five pillars of it with their hooks: and he overlaid their chapiters and their fillets with gold: but their five sockets were of brass.

2 Und Mose rief Bezaleel und Oholiab und alle Männer, die ein weises Herz hatten, denen der HERR Weisheit ins Herz gelegt hatte, auch alle, die ihr Herz dazu trieb, dass sie herzukamen, um an dem Werk zu arbeiten. (Ex 28:3; Ex 35:10; Ex 35:35; Ezr 1:5)

3 Und sie empfingen von Mose alle freiwilligen Gaben, welche die Kinder Israels zu dem Werk des Dienstes am Heiligtum gebracht hatten, damit es ausgeführt werde; und sie brachten immer noch jeden Morgen ihre freiwilligen Gaben. (Ex 35:5) 4 Da kamen alle weisen Männer, die an allem Werk des Heiligtums arbeiteten, jeder von seiner Arbeit, die sie machten, (2Ch 24:13; 1Co 3:10) 5 und sie redeten mit Mose und sprachen: Das Volk bringt zu viel, mehr als zum Werk dieses Dienstes notwendig ist, das der HERR auszuführen geboten hat! (2Ch 31:5) 6 Da gebot Mose, dass man durch das Lager ausrufen und sagen ließ: Niemand, es sei Mann oder Frau, soll mehr etwas anfertigen als freiwillige Gabe für das Heiligtum! Die Zeltbahnen für die Stiftshütte

8 Und alle Männer, die weisen Herzens waren unter den Arbeitern am Werk, fertigten die Wohnung an, zehn Zeltbahnen aus gezwirntem Leinen, aus blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin, mit Cherubim in kunstvoller Arbeit stellte man sie her. (Ex 26:1) 9 Die Länge einer Zeltbahn war 28 Ellen und ihre Breite 4 Ellen; die Zeltbahnen hatten alle ein Maß. (Ex 26:2) 10 Und er fügte je fünf Zeltbahnen [zu einem Ganzen] zusammen, eine an die andere. (Ex 26:3) 11 Und er fertigte Schleifen aus blauem Purpur an am Saum der einen Zeltbahn, bei der Verbindungsstelle, und ebenso machte er es am Saum der äußersten Zeltbahn, bei der anderen Verbindungsstelle. (Ex 26:4) 12 Er machte 50 Schleifen am [Ende der] einen Zeltbahn und 50 Schleifen an dem äußersten Ende der anderen Zeltbahn, bei der anderen Verbindungsstelle; von diesen Schleifen stand je eine der anderen gegenüber. (Ex 26:5; Ex 26:10) 13 Und er stellte 50 goldene Klammern her und fügte die Zeltbahnen mit den Klammern zusammen, eine an die andere, sodass die Wohnung ein Ganzes wurde. (Ex 26:6) 14 Und er fertigte Zeltbahnen aus Ziegenhaar als ein Zeltdach über die Wohnung; elf solche Zeltbahnen machte er. (Ex 26:7) 15 Die Länge einer Zeltbahn war 30 Ellen, die Breite aber 4 Ellen. Und alle elf Zeltbahnen hatten ein Maß; (Ex 26:8) 16 und er fügte fünf Zeltbahnen für sich zusammen und sechs Zeltbahnen auch für sich, (Ex 26:9) 17 und er machte 50 Schleifen am Saum der einen, äußersten Zeltbahn, an der einen Verbindungsstelle, und 50 Schleifen machte er am Saum der anderen Zeltbahn, an der anderen Verbindungsstelle. (Ex 26:10) 18 Dazu fertigte er 50 eherne Klammern an, damit das Zeltdach ein Ganzes würde. (Ex 26:11) 19 Und er machte für das Zeltdach eine Decke aus rötlichen Widderfellen und darüber noch eine Decke aus Seekuhfellen. (Ex 26:14)

Die Bretter für die Wände der Stiftshütte

20 Er fertigte auch aufrecht stehende Bretter aus Akazienholz für die Wohnung an. (Ex 26:15) 21 Die Länge eines Brettes war 10 Ellen und die Breite eines Brettes anderthalb Ellen; (Ex 26:16) 22 zwei Zapfen hatte ein Brett, einer dem anderen gegenüberstehend. So machte er es bei allen Brettern der Wohnung. (Ex 26:17) 23 Und er fertigte die Bretter für die Wohnung so an, dass 20 Bretter auf der Seite nach Süden zu standen; (Ex 26:18) 24 und er machte 40 silberne Füße unter die 20 Bretter, je zwei Füße unter ein Brett für seine beiden Zapfen; und wieder zwei Füße unter ein Brett für seine zwei Zapfen. (Ex 26:19) 25 Ebenso machte er auch auf der anderen Seite der Wohnung, nach Norden zu, 20 Bretter (Ex 26:20) 26 und ihre 40 silbernen Füße, je zwei Füße unter ein Brett. (Ex 26:21) 27 Aber an der Rückseite der Wohnung, nach Westen zu, fertigte er sechs Bretter, (Ex 26:22; Ex 26:27) 28 und zwei Bretter für die beiden Ecken an der Rückseite der Wohnung. (Ex 26:23) 29 Diese waren doppelt von unten an, und oben zusammengefügt mit einem Ring: So machte er sie beide, an beiden Ecken. (Ex 26:24) 30 Und es waren acht Bretter mit ihren silbernen Füßen, 16 Füße, je zwei Füße unter einem Brett. Die Vorhänge der Stiftshütte

35 Und er fertigte den Vorhang an aus [Garnen von] blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin und aus gezwirntem Leinen, und wirkte Cherubim in kunstvoller Arbeit hinein. (Ex 26:31; Heb 6:19; Heb 10:19) 36 Und er machte für ihn vier Säulen aus Akazienholz und überzog sie mit Gold, und machte ihre Haken aus Gold, und goss; dazu vier silberne Füße. (Ex 26:32) 37 Und er fertigte einen Vorhang für den Eingang des Zeltes, aus [Garnen von] blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin und aus gezwirntem Leinen, in Buntwirkerarbeit, (Ex 26:36) 38 und fünf Säulen dazu mit ihren Haken, und er überzog ihre Köpfe und ihre Verbindungsstäbe mit Gold; ihre fünf Füße aber waren aus Erz. 1 So sollen denn arbeiten Bezalel und Oholiab und alle kundigen Männer, denen der HERR Weisheit und Verstand gegeben hat zu wissen, wie sie alle Arbeit ausführen sollen zum Dienst des Heiligtums, ganz nach dem Gebot des HERRN. 2 Und Mose berief Bezalel und Oholiab und alle kundigen Männer, denen der HERR Weisheit ins Herz gegeben hatte, alle, die sich freiwillig erboten, ans Werk zu gehen und es auszurichten. 3 Und sie empfingen von Mose alle Abgaben, die die Israeliten gebracht hatten, um die Arbeiten zum Dienst des Heiligtums auszuführen. Und man brachte auch weiterhin alle Morgen freiwillige Gaben zu ihm. 4 Da kamen alle kundigen Männer, die am Werk des Heiligtums arbeiteten, ein jeder von der Arbeit, die er machte, 5 und sprachen zu Mose: Das Volk bringt zu viel, mehr als zum Dienst dieses Werkes nötig ist, das der HERR zu machen geboten hat. 6 Da gebot Mose, dass man durchs Lager rufen ließe: Niemand, weder Mann noch Frau, soll hinfort noch etwas hinzutun zur Abgabe für das Heiligtum. Da brachte das Volk nichts mehr. 7 Denn es war genug gebracht worden zu allen Arbeiten, die zu machen waren, und es war noch übrig geblieben.

Die Herstellung der Stiftshütte

8 So machten alle kundigen Männer unter den Arbeitern die Wohnung aus zehn Teppichen von gezwirntem feinem Leinen, blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin, und Cherubim waren eingewebt, wie es ein Kunstweber macht. (Ex 26:1) 9 Die Länge eines Teppichs war achtundzwanzig Ellen und die Breite vier Ellen, und alle waren von ein und demselben Maß. 10 Und er fügte je fünf Teppiche zu einer Bahn zusammen, einen an den andern. 11 Und er machte blaue Schlaufen an beiden Bahnen jeweils an dem Rand, an dem sie zusammengeheftet werden, 12 fünfzig Schlaufen an jeder Bahn, dass eine Schlaufe der andern gegenüberstünde. 13 Und er machte fünfzig goldene Haken und heftete die Teppiche mit den Haken einen an den andern zusammen, auf dass die Wohnung ein Ganzes sei. 14 Und er machte elf Teppiche von Ziegenhaaren zum Zelte über die Wohnung, 15 dreißig Ellen lang und vier Ellen breit, die alle dasselbe Maß haben; 16 und fügte fünf aneinander und die sechs andern auch. 17 Und er machte fünfzig Schlaufen an jeder Bahn am Rand, wo die Bahnen zusammengeheftet werden, 18 und machte je fünfzig Haken aus Bronze, damit das Zelt zusammengefügt werde und ein Ganzes sei. 19 Und er machte eine Decke über das Zelt von rot gefärbten Widderfellen und darüber noch eine Decke von Leder. 20 Und er machte Bretter für die Wohnung, aus Akazienholz, zum Aufstellen, 21 ein jedes zehn Ellen lang und anderthalb Ellen breit 22 und an jedem zwei Zapfen, damit eins an das andere gesetzt würde. So machte er alle Bretter für die Wohnung, 23 dass zwanzig Bretter nach Süden standen. 24 Und er machte vierzig silberne Füße unter die zwanzig Bretter, unter jedes Brett zwei Füße für seine zwei Zapfen. 25 Ebenso machte er auf der andern Seite der Wohnung nach Norden zwanzig Bretter 26 mit vierzig silbernen Füßen, unter jedes Brett zwei Füße. 27 Und für die Rückseite der Wohnung nach Westen machte er sechs Bretter 28 und zwei andere für die zwei Ecken an der Rückseite der Wohnung. 29 Und sie waren doppelt gelegt von unten her und gut aneinandergefügt bis oben hin zum ersten Ring. So machte er es für beide Eckbretter. 30 Und es waren acht Bretter und sechzehn silberne Füße, unter jedem Brett zwei Füße. 31 Und er machte Riegel aus Akazienholz, fünf zu den Brettern auf der einen Langseite der Wohnung 32 und fünf auf der andern Langseite und fünf auf der Rückseite nach Westen. 33 Und er machte den Mittelriegel, dass er in halber Höhe an den Brettern entlanglief von einem Ende zum andern. 34 Und er überzog die Bretter mit Gold, und ihre Ringe machte er aus Gold, dass man die Riegel hineintäte, und überzog die Riegel mit Gold. 35 Und er machte den Vorhang aus blauem und rotem Purpur, Karmesin und gezwirntem feinem Leinen. Wie ein Kunstweber machte er ihn mit Cherubim. 36 Und er machte für ihn vier Säulen aus Akazienholz und überzog sie mit Gold und ihre Nägel waren aus Gold, und er goss dazu vier silberne Füße. 37 Und er machte eine Decke für den Eingang des Zeltes, bunt gewebt aus blauem und rotem Purpur, Karmesin und gezwirntem feinem Leinen, 38 und dazu fünf Säulen mit ihren Nägeln und überzog ihre Köpfe und Ringbänder mit Gold und machte fünf Füße aus Bronze daran.
