1It is actually reported that there is sexual sin among you. I’m told that a man is sleeping with his father’s wife. Even people who don’t know God don’t let that kind of sin continue.2And you are proud! Shouldn’t you be very sad instead? Shouldn’t you have thrown out of your church the man doing this?3Even though I am not right there with you, I am with you in spirit. And because I am with you in spirit, I have already judged the man doing this. I have judged him in the name of our Lord Jesus.4So when you come together, I will be with you in spirit. The power of our Lord Jesus will also be with you.5When you come together like this, hand this man over to Satan. Then the power of sin in his life will be destroyed. His spirit will be saved on the day the Lord returns.6Your boasting is not good. It is like yeast. Don’t you know that just a little yeast makes the whole batch of dough rise?7Get rid of the old yeast. Then you can be like a new batch of dough without yeast. That is what you really are. That’s because Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been offered up for us.8So let us keep the Feast, but not with the old bread made with yeast. The yeast I’m talking about is hatred and evil. Let us keep the Feast with bread made without yeast. Let us keep it with bread that is honesty and truth.9I wrote a letter to you to tell you to stay away from people who commit sexual sins.10I didn’t mean the people of this world who sin in this way. I didn’t mean those who always want more and more. I didn’t mean those who cheat or who worship statues of gods. In that case you would have to leave this world!11But here is what I am writing to you now. You must stay away from anyone who claims to be a believer but does evil things. Stay away from anyone who commits sexual sins. Stay away from anyone who always wants more and more things. Stay away from anyone who worships statues of gods. Stay away from anyone who tells lies about others. Stay away from anyone who gets drunk or who cheats. Don’t even eat with people like these.12Is it my business to judge those outside the church? Aren’t you supposed to judge those inside the church?13God will judge those outside. Scripture says, ‘Get rid of that evil person!’ (De 17:7; De 19:19; De 21:21; De 22:21; De 22:24; De 24:7)
1Überhaupt hört man ganz schlimme Dinge von euch! Es soll da einen Fall von Unzucht geben, wie er nicht einmal unter den Menschen vorkommt, die Gott nicht kennen:[1] dass nämlich einer mit seiner Stiefmutter zusammenlebt. (Le 18:8)2Und darauf seid ihr noch stolz und gebt es als Zeichen eurer christlichen Freiheit aus![2] Ihr solltet vielmehr traurig sein und den, der so etwas getan hat, aus eurer Gemeinschaft ausstoßen! (1Co 6:12; 1Co 10:23)3Ich selbst bin zwar körperlich fern, aber im Geist unter euch; und im Geist bei euch anwesend, habe ich schon das Urteil gesprochen über den, der so etwas Schlimmes getan hat. (Col 2:5)4-5Wenn ihr zusammenkommt und ich im Geist dabei bin und auch Jesus, unser Herr, mit seiner Kraft gegenwärtig ist, dann soll dieser Mensch im Namen von Jesus, unserem Herrn, dem Satan übergeben werden. Der soll an seinem Körper die verdiente Strafe vollziehen, damit er als einer, der von Gott den Heiligen Geist empfangen hat,[3] am Gerichtstag des Herrn doch noch gerettet wird. (1Co 3:15; 1Ti 1:20)6Euer Rühmen ist wahrhaftig unangebracht! Ihr wisst, dass ein klein wenig Sauerteig genügt, um den ganzen Teig sauer zu machen. (Ga 5:9)7Reinigt euch also! Entfernt den alten Sauerteig, damit ihr wieder ein frischer, ungesäuerter Teig seid! Denn das seid ihr doch, seit Christus als unser Passalamm geopfert wurde. (Ex 12:15; Ex 13:7; Joh 1:29)8Lasst uns darum auch entsprechend feiern: nicht mit Brot aus dem alten Sauerteig der Sünde und Schlechtigkeit, sondern mit dem ungesäuerten Brot der Reinheit und Rechtschaffenheit.9In meinem früheren Brief habe ich euch geschrieben, ihr sollt nichts mit Menschen zu tun haben, die Unzucht treiben.10Natürlich dachte ich dabei nicht an Menschen, die außerhalb der Gemeinde stehen, genauso wenig, wenn ich euch vor dem Umgang mit Geldgierigen, Räubern und Götzenanbetern gewarnt habe. Sonst müsstet ihr ja diese Welt überhaupt verlassen.11Ich schreibe euch darum jetzt ausdrücklich: Ihr sollt mit niemand Umgang haben, der sich Bruder nennt und trotzdem Unzucht treibt oder am Geld hängt oder Götzen verehrt, der ein Verleumder, Trinker oder Räuber ist. Mit solch einem sollt ihr auch nicht zusammen essen. (1Co 6:9; 2Th 3:6; Tit 3:10; 2Jo 1:10)12Warum sollen wir über die Außenstehenden zu Gericht sitzen? Eure Aufgabe ist es, die eigenen Leute zur Rechenschaft zu ziehen.13Über die draußen wird Gott Gericht halten. Entfernt also den Bösen aus eurer Mitte! (De 13:6)
