from Biblica1‘I have told you all this so that you will not turn away from the truth.2You will be thrown out of the synagogue. In fact, the time is coming when someone may kill you. And they will think they are doing God a favour.3They will do things like that because they do not know the Father or me.4Why have I told you this? So that when their time comes, you will remember that I warned you about them. I didn’t tell you this from the beginning because I was with you.5But now I am going to the one who sent me. None of you asks me, “Where are you going?”6Instead, you are filled with sadness because I have said these things.7But what I’m about to tell you is true. It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Friend will not come to help you. But if I go, I will send him to you.8When he comes, he will prove that the world’s people are guilty. He will prove their guilt concerning sin and godliness and judgment.9The world is guilty as far as sin is concerned. That’s because people do not believe in me.10The world is guilty as far as godliness is concerned. That’s because I am going to the Father, where you can’t see me anymore.11The world is guilty as far as judgment is concerned. That’s because the devil, the prince of this world, has already been judged.12‘I have much more to say to you. It is more than you can handle right now.13But when the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own. He will speak only what he hears. And he will tell you what is still going to happen.14He will bring me glory. That’s because what he receives from me he will show to you.15Everything that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said what the Holy Spirit receives from me he will show to you.’
The disciples’ sadness will turn into joy
16Jesus continued, ‘In a little while, you will no longer see me. Then after a little while, you will see me.’17After they heard this, some of his disciples spoke to one another. They said, ‘What does he mean by saying, “In a little while, you will no longer see me. Then after a little while, you will see me”? And what does he mean by saying, “I am going to the Father”?’18They kept asking, ‘What does he mean by “a little while”? We don’t understand what he is saying.’19Jesus saw that they wanted to ask him about these things. So he said to them, ‘Are you asking one another what I meant? Didn’t you understand when I said, “In a little while, you will no longer see me. Then after a little while, you will see me”?20What I’m about to tell you is true. You will weep and mourn while the world is full of joy. You will be sad, but your sadness will turn into joy.21A woman giving birth to a baby has pain. That’s because her time to give birth has come. But when her baby is born, she forgets the pain. She forgets because she is so happy that a baby has been born into the world.22That’s the way it is with you. Now it’s your time to be sad. But I will see you again. Then you will be full of joy. And no one will take away your joy.23When that day comes, you will no longer ask me for anything. What I’m about to tell you is true. My Father will give you anything you ask for in my name.24Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask, and you will receive what you ask for. Then your joy will be complete.25‘I have not been speaking to you plainly. But a time is coming when I will speak clearly. Then I will tell you plainly about my Father.26When that day comes, you will ask for things in my name. I am not saying I will ask the Father instead of you asking him.27No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me. He also loves you because you have believed that I came from God.28I came from the Father and entered the world. Now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.’29Then Jesus’ disciples said, ‘Now you are speaking plainly. You are using examples that are clear.30Now we can see that you know everything. You don’t even need anyone to ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God.’31‘Do you believe now?’ Jesus replied.32‘A time is coming when you will be scattered and go to your own homes. In fact, that time is already here. You will leave me all alone. But I am not really alone. My Father is with me.33‘I have told you these things, so that you can have peace because of me. In this world you will have trouble. But be encouraged! I have won the battle over the world.’

Es wird sogar so weit kommen, dass alle, die euch töten, es als einen Opferdienst zur Ehre Gottes verstehen. (Joh 9:22; Ac 26:9)3Das alles werden sie euch antun, weil sie weder mich noch den Vater erkannt haben. (Joh 15:21)
Die Aufgabe des Heiligen Geistes
4Aber ich habe es euch gesagt. Wenn es eintrifft, werdet ihr an meine Worte denken.« »Ich habe euch dies alles zu Anfang nicht gesagt, weil ich ja bei euch war. (Joh 13:19)5Jetzt gehe ich zu dem, der mich gesandt hat. Doch keiner von euch fragt mich, wohin ich gehe.6Ihr seid nur traurig, weil ich euch dies alles gesagt habe.7Aber glaubt mir, es ist gut für euch, dass ich fortgehe; denn sonst wird der Helfer nicht zu euch kommen. Er wird den Menschen zeigen, was Sünde ist und was Gerechtigkeit und was Gericht. Abschied und Wiedersehen
16»Es dauert noch eine kurze Zeit, und ihr werdet mich nicht mehr sehen. Dann wird wieder eine kurze Zeit vergehen, und ihr werdet mich wiedersehen.« (Joh 14:19)17Unter seinen Jüngern erhob sich die Frage: »Wie sollen wir das verstehen – und das andere Wort: ›Ich gehe zum Vater‹?18Was bedeutet ›eine kurze Zeit‹? Wir verstehen nicht, was er sagt.«19Jesus wusste schon, dass sie ihn fragen wollten. Darum sagte er zu ihnen: »Ich habe gesagt: ›Es dauert noch eine kurze Zeit, und ihr werdet mich nicht mehr sehen. Dann wird wieder eine kurze Zeit vergehen, und ihr werdet mich wiedersehen.‹ Darüber macht ihr euch nun Gedanken?20Amen, ich versichere euch: Ihr werdet jammern und weinen, und die Welt wird sich freuen. Ihr werdet traurig sein; doch ich sage euch: Eure Trauer wird sich in Freude verwandeln.21Wenn eine Frau ein Kind zur Welt bringt, leidet sie Angst und Schmerzen; aber wenn das Kind geboren ist, denkt sie nicht mehr daran, was sie ausgestanden hat, und ist nur noch glücklich, dass ein Mensch zur Welt gekommen ist.22So wird es auch mit euch sein: Jetzt seid ihr voll Angst und Trauer. Aber ich werde euch wiedersehen. Dann wird euer Herz voll Freude sein, und diese Freude kann euch niemand nehmen. (Joh 15:11)23Wenn dieser Tag kommt, werdet ihr mich nichts mehr fragen. Der Sieg über die Welt
25»Ich habe euch dies alles in Andeutungen gesagt, die euch rätselhaft erscheinen müssen. Die Stunde kommt, dass ich nicht mehr in Rätseln zu euch rede, sondern offen und unverhüllt zu euch über den Vater spreche. (Mt 13:34)26Dann werdet ihr ihn unter Berufung auf mich bitten. Ich sage aber nicht, dass ich dann den Vater für euch bitten werde;27denn der Vater liebt euch. Er liebt euch, weil ihr mich liebt und nicht daran zweifelt,[4] dass ich von Gott gekommen bin. (Joh 14:21)28Ich bin vom Vater in die Welt gekommen. Jetzt verlasse ich die Welt wieder und gehe zum Vater.«29Da sagten seine Jünger zu ihm: »Nun sprichst du offen zu uns, nicht mehr in Rätseln.30Jetzt haben wir verstanden, dass du alles weißt. Du weißt schon vorher, was man dich fragen möchte. Darum glauben wir, dass du von Gott gekommen bist.«31Jesus erwiderte: »Ihr meint, ihr glaubt? Jetzt schon?32Die Stunde kommt, ja, sie ist schon da, dass man euch auseinandertreiben wird. Jeder wird nur noch an sich denken, und mich werdet ihr allein lassen. Trotzdem bin ich nicht allein, weil mein Vater bei mir ist. (Zec 13:7; Mr 14:27; Mr 14:50)33Dies alles habe ich euch gesagt, damit ihr in meinem Frieden geborgen seid. In der Welt wird man euch hart zusetzen, aber verliert nicht den Mut: Ich habe die Welt besiegt!« (Joh 14:27; 1Jo 5:4)

from Biblica1Vi ho detto queste cose, perché non siate presi alla sprovvista.2Infatti, sarete cacciati dalle sinagoghe, anzi, sʼavvicina il momento in cui quelli che vi uccideranno, crederanno di fare un favore a Dio.3Vi tratteranno così, perché non hanno conosciuto il Padre, e neppure me.4Ve lo dico ora, perché quando queste cose si avvereranno, vi ricordiate del mio avvertimento. Non ve ne ho parlato prima, perché mi era rimasto ancora un poʼ di tempo da passare con voi.5Ma ora sto per andarmene da chi mi ha mandato. Nessuno di voi mi chiede dove vado.6Ve ne state lì, invece, tristi ed abbattuti per ciò che vi ho detto.7Vi dico la verità: per voi è molto meglio che io me ne vada, altrimenti non verrà il Consolatore. Invece, se me ne vado, ve lo manderò.8Quando sarà qui, egli convincerà il mondo riguardo al peccato, alla giustizia di Dio e al giudizio.9Per quanto riguarda il peccato, perché non credono in me.10Per la giustizia, perché torno dal Padre e non mi vedrete più.11E, infine, per quanto riguarda la liberazione dalla condanna, questa è possibile, perché Satana, il dominatore di questo mondo, è già stato giudicato.12Vorrei dirvi ancora tante altre cose, ma ora non potreste capire.13Quando verrà lo Spirito Santo, Spirito di verità, vi guiderà nella verità senza compromessi, perché non sosterrà le proprie idee, ma vi dirà tutto ciò che ha udito. Non solo, ma vi rivelerà anche le cose future.14Egli mi glorificherà e mi renderà onore, facendovi conoscere la mia gloria.15Tutte le cose che ha il Padre sono mie; per questo vi ho detto che egli stesso vi farà conoscere la mia gloria.
Dolore e gioia
16Fra poco me ne andrò, e non mi vedrete più, ma passerà un altro poʼ di tempo, e poi mi rivedrete».17-18«Ma che cosa sta dicendo?» chiesero fra loro alcuni discepoli. «Che cosa significa: “Fra poco me ne andrò e non mi vedrete più, ma passerà un altro poʼ di tempo e mi rivedrete, perché me ne vado dal Padre”? Non capiamo che cosa voglia dire».19Gesù sʼaccorse che volevano domandarglielo, così disse: «State chiedendovi perché ho parlato così?20Per la verità, vi dico che il mondo farà festa per ciò che sta accadendomi, mentre voi piangerete. Ma il vostro pianto si trasformerà in una gioia immensa (quando mi vedrete di nuovo).21La stessa gioia che prova la partoriente dopo aver dato alla luce un bambino. La sua sofferenza lascia posto alla gioia indescrivibile di aver dato al mondo una nuova creatura, e il dolore è dimenticato.22Anche voi ora siete tristi, ma vi rivedrò, e allora sarete felici, e nessuno vi potrà più togliere quella gioia.23Quando verrà quel giorno, non occorrerà più che vi rivolgiate a me, per chiedere qualcosa. Potrete domandarla nel mio nome direttamente al Padre; ed egli ve la darà.24Finora non avete mai chiesto nulla nel mio nome, cominciate da adesso! Chiedete e otterrete. Così la vostra gioia sarà perfetta.25Vi ho detto queste cose, servendomi delle parabole, ma verrà il giorno in cui non sarà più necessario, e vi parlerò del Padre chiaramente.26-27Allora potrete pregare nel mio nome, e non ci sarà bisogno che sia io a chiedere al Padre di esaudirvi, perché lui stesso vi ama teneramente, proprio perché voi mi avete amato e avete creduto che provengo dal Padre.28Proprio così, ero col Padre e da lui sono venuto nel mondo. Ora partirò dal mondo, per ritornare al Padre».29«Adesso sì che parli chiaro!» dissero i discepoli, «e senza tanti indovinelli.30Ora sappiamo che tu sai tutto e non hai bisogno dei suggerimenti da nessuno. Per questo crediamo che sei venuto da Dio».31«Ci credete, finalmente?» chiese Gesù.32«Verrà il tempo, anzi, è già venuto, in cui sarete dispersi. Ognuno se ne andrà per conto suo, e mi lascerete solo. Eppure non resterò solo, perché il Padre è con me.33Vi ho detto queste cose, perché in me abbiate la pace del cuore e della mente. Qui nel mondo vi aspettano molti dolori, ma fatevi coraggio: io ho vinto il mondo!»
