Abram und Lot trennen sich

1 Abram und seine Frau sowie ´sein Neffe` Lot verließen Ägypten mit ihrem gesamten Besitz und kehrten in den Süden ´Kanaans`^[1] zurück. (1Mo 12,9) 2 Abram war sehr reich. Er besaß ´große` Viehherden und ´viel` Silber und Gold. 3 Vom Süden ´Kanaans` aus^[2] zog er von Lagerplatz zu Lagerplatz Richtung Bet-El, bis er den Platz zwischen Bet-El und Ai erreichte, an dem er früher schon gelagert 4 und einen Altar gebaut hatte. Dort rief er den HERRN bei seinem Namen^[3] an. 5 Auch Lot, der mit Abram unterwegs war, besaß ´viele` Schafe, Ziegen und Rinder sowie eine große Anzahl von Zelten. 6 Das Land bot nicht genug Weidefläche für beide.^[4] Ihre Herden waren zu groß, daher konnten sie nicht länger am selben Ort wohnen. 7 ´Immer wieder` gab es Streit zwischen Abrams und Lots Hirten. Außerdem lebten damals noch die Kanaaniter und die Perisiter im Land. 8 Deshalb sagte Abram ´eines Tages` zu Lot: »Zwischen uns beiden sollte es keinen Streit geben, auch nicht zwischen unseren Hirten. Schließlich sind wir miteinander verwandt^[5]. 9 Es gibt im Land genügend Orte, an denen du dich niederlassen kannst.^[6] Es ist besser, wenn wir uns trennen. Wenn du nach links ziehst, gehe ich nach rechts. Wählst du die rechte Seite, gehe ich nach links.« 10 Lot schaute sich um und sah, dass die Jordanebene sehr wasserreich war. - Damals hatte der HERR Sodom und Gomorra noch nicht zerstört. Deshalb war ´das ganze Jordantal so fruchtbar` wie der Garten des HERRN und das Land Ägypten, und zwar ´einschließlich des unteren Teils` bis hinab nach Zoar. - 11 Lot wählte die gesamte Jordanebene und zog Richtung Osten. So trennten sich die beiden. 12 Abram blieb im Land Kanaan. Lot ließ sich im Gebiet der Jordanstädte nieder und schlug schließlich sein Lager bei Sodom auf. 13 Die Bewohner von Sodom aber waren voller Bosheit und begingen viele abscheuliche Taten, die dem HERRN missfielen. 14 Nachdem Lot sich von Abram getrennt hatte, sagte der HERR zu Abram: »Schau dich von hier aus nach allen Richtungen um, nach Norden, Süden, Osten und Westen. 15 Das ganze Land, das du siehst, will ich dir und deinen Nachkommen für immer geben. 16 Ich werde deine Nachkommen so zahlreich machen wie die Staubkörner auf der Erde. Niemand kann den Staub zählen. Genauso wenig wird man deine Nachkommen zählen können. 17 Mach dich auf den Weg und durchziehe das Land nach allen Richtungen! Denn dir will ich es geben.« 18 Da zog Abram weiter und schlug seine Zelte bei den Terebinthen von Mamre auf, die in der Nähe von Hebron stehen. Dort errichtete er einen Altar für den HERRN.

3 Und er zog weiter von einem Lagerplatz zum anderen, vom Negev her bis nach Bethel, bis zu dem Ort, wo sein Zelt zuerst gestanden hatte, zwischen Bethel und Ai, 4 an die Stätte des Altars, den er dort zuerst errichtet hatte; und Abram rief dort den Namen des HERRN an. 5 Aber auch Lot, der mit Abram ging, hatte Schafe, Rinder und Zelte. (1Mo 11,27) 6 Und das Land ertrug es nicht, dass sie beieinanderwohnten; denn ihre Habe war groß, und sie konnten nicht beieinanderbleiben. (1Mo 13,2) 7 Und es entstand Streit zwischen den Hirten über Abrams Vieh und den Hirten über Lots Vieh; auch wohnten zu der Zeit die Kanaaniter und Pheresiter im Land. (1Mo 12,6; 1Mo 26,20; 1Mo 34,30) 8 Da sprach Abram zu Lot: Es soll doch nicht Streit sein zwischen mir und dir, zwischen meinen Hirten und deinen Hirten! Denn wir sind Brüder. 11 Darum erwählte sich Lot die ganze Jordanaue und zog gegen Osten. So trennte sich ein Bruder von dem anderen. (1Joh 2,15) 12 Abram wohnte im Land Kanaan, und Lot wohnte in den Städten der Aue, und er schlug sein Zelt auf bis nach Sodom hin. 14 Der HERR aber sprach zu Abram, nachdem sich Lot von ihm getrennt hatte: Hebe doch deine Augen auf und schaue von dem Ort, wo du wohnst, nach Norden, Süden, Osten und Westen! (1Mo 13,10; 1Mo 18,2; 1Mo 22,4; 5Mo 3,27; Ps 121,1)

15 Denn das ganze Land, das du siehst, will ich dir und deinem Samen^[3] geben auf ewig. Abram and Lot separate

1 So Abram went up from Egypt to the Negev, with his wife and everything he had, and Lot went with him. 2 Abram had become very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold. 3 From the Negev he went from place to place until he came to Bethel, to the place between Bethel and Ai where his tent had been earlier 4 and where he had first built an altar. There Abram called on the name of the Lord. 5 Now Lot, who was moving about with Abram, also had flocks and herds and tents. 6 But the land could not support them while they stayed together, for their possessions were so great that they were not able to stay together. 7 And quarrelling arose between Abram’s herdsmen and Lot’s. The Canaanites and Perizzites were also living in the land at that time. 8 So Abram said to Lot, ‘Let’s not have any quarrelling between you and me, or between your herdsmen and mine, for we are close relatives. 9 Is not the whole land before you? Let’s part company. If you go to the left, I’ll go to the right; if you go to the right, I’ll go to the left.’ 10 Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan towards Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) 11 So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out towards the east. The two men parted company: 12 Abram lived in the land of Canaan, while Lot lived among the cities of the plain and pitched his tents near Sodom. 13 Now the people of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the Lord. 14 The Lord said to Abram after Lot had parted from him, ‘Look around from where you are, to the north and south, to the east and west. 15 All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring^[1] for ever. 16 I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. 17 Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.’ 18 So Abram went to live near the great trees of Mamre at Hebron, where he pitched his tents. There he built an altar to the Lord.

1 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. 2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold. 3 And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai; 4 Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the LORD. 5 And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents. 6 And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together. 7 And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram' cattle and the herdmen of Lot' cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land. 8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren. 9 Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. 10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. 11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other. 12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom. 13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly. 14 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: 15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. 16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. 17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee. 18 Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.
