Klage über streitsüchtige Menschen

1 Ein Wallfahrtslied, gesungen auf dem Weg hinauf nach Jerusalem.^[1] In meiner großen Not rufe ich zum HERRN, und er wird mich erhören! 2 HERR, rette doch mein Leben vor diesen Lügenmäulern, vor denen, die mit falscher Zunge reden! 3 Was für eine Strafe wird Gott über euch kommen lassen, jetzt und in Zukunft, ihr doppelzüngigen Heuchler?^[2] 4 Er, der Allmächtige, wird euch mit spitzen Pfeilen und mit glühenden Kohlen treffen.^[3] 5 Wie schlimm ist es für mich, dass ich als Fremder mitten in Meschech leben muss, dass ich bleiben muss bei den Zelten von Kedar!^[4] (1Mo 10,2; 1Mo 25,13) 6 Viel zu lange wohne ich^[5] nun schon unter Menschen, die den Frieden hassen. 7 Ich selbst suche den Frieden, doch was ich auch sage – sie sind nur auf Krieg aus!

A song for those who go up to Jerusalem to worship the Lord.

1 I call out to the LORD when I’m in trouble, and he answers me. 2 LORD, save me from people whose lips tell lies. Save me from people whose tongues don’t tell the truth. 3 What will the LORD do to you, you lying tongue? And what more will he do? 4 He will punish you with the sharp arrows of a soldier. He will punish you with burning coals from a desert bush. 5 How terrible it is for me to live in the tents of the people of Meshek! How terrible to live in the tents of the people of Kedar! 6 I have lived too long among those who hate peace. 7 I want peace. But when I speak, they want war.

1 A Song of Ascents. In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. (2Mo 34,24; 1Kön 12,27; Jes 30,29) 2 Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue. 3 What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, you deceitful tongue? (1Sam 3,17) 4 A warrior’s sharp arrows, with glowing coals of the broom tree! (Ps 45,5; Ps 127,4; Ps 140,10; Spr 25,22; Jer 50,9)
