Heilung eines Gelähmten

1 Einige Tage später kehrte Jesus nach Kafarnaum zurück. Es sprach sich schnell herum, dass er wieder zu Hause war. (Mt 9,1; Lk 5,17) 2 Da versammelten sich so viele Menschen bei ihm, dass kein Platz mehr war, nicht einmal vor dem Haus^[1]. Während er ihnen das Wort ´Gottes` verkündete, 3 wurde ein Gelähmter gebracht; vier Männer trugen ihn. Sie wollten mit ihm zu Jesus, 4 doch es herrschte ein solches Gedränge, dass sie nicht zu ihm durchkamen. Da deckten sie das Dach über der Stelle ab, wo Jesus sich befand, und machten eine Öffnung, durch die sie den Gelähmten auf seiner Matte^[2] hinunterließen. 5 Als Jesus ihren Glauben sah, sagte er zu dem Gelähmten: »Mein Sohn, deine Sünden sind dir vergeben!« 6 Einige Schriftgelehrte, die dort saßen, lehnten sich innerlich dagegen auf^[3]. 7 »Wie kann dieser Mensch es wagen, so etwas zu sagen?«, dachten sie. »Das ist ja Gotteslästerung! Niemand kann Sünden vergeben außer Gott.« 8 Jesus hatte in seinem Geist sofort erkannt, was in ihnen vorging. »Warum gebt ihr solchen Gedanken Raum in euren Herzen?«, fragte er sie. 9 »Was ist leichter – zu dem Gelähmten zu sagen: ›Deine Sünden sind dir vergeben‹ oder: ›Steh auf, nimm deine Matte und geh umher!‹? 10 Doch ihr sollt wissen, dass der Menschensohn die Vollmacht hat, hier auf der Erde Sünden zu vergeben.« Und er wandte sich zu dem Gelähmten und sagte: 11 »Ich befehle dir: Steh auf, nimm deine Matte und geh nach Hause!« 12 Da stand der Mann auf, nahm seine Matte und ging vor den Augen der ganzen Menge hinaus. Alle waren außer sich vor Staunen; sie priesen Gott und sagten: »So etwas haben wir noch nie erlebt.«

Die Berufung des Zolleinnehmers Levi

13 Danach ging Jesus wieder hinaus an den See. Die ganze Menschenmenge kam zu ihm, und er lehrte sie. (Mt 9,9; Lk 5,27) 14 Als er weiterging und am Zollhaus vorbeikam, sah er dort Levi sitzen, den Sohn des Alphäus. Jesus sagte zu ihm: »Folge mir nach!« Da stand Levi auf und folgte Jesus.

Jesu Gemeinschaft mit Zolleinnehmern und Sündern

15 Später war Jesus in Levis Haus zu Gast. Zusammen mit ihm und seinen Jüngern nahmen viele Zolleinnehmer und andere Leute, die als Sünder galten,^[4] an dem Essen teil; die Zahl derer, die ihm nachfolgten, war groß^[5]. (Mt 9,10; Lk 5,29) 16 Als nun die Schriftgelehrten, die zur Partei der Pharisäer gehörten,^[6] sahen, dass Jesus mit solchen Leuten aß, sagten sie zu seinen Jüngern: »Wie kann er nur zusammen mit Zolleinnehmern und Sündern essen?« 17 Jesus hörte das und entgegnete ihnen: »Nicht die Gesunden brauchen den Arzt, sondern die Kranken. Ich bin nicht gekommen, um Gerechte zu rufen, sondern Sünder.«

Junger Wein gehört nicht in alte Schläuche

18 Einmal, als die Jünger des Johannes und die Pharisäer fasteten^[7], kamen einige Leute zu Jesus und sagten: »Die Jünger des Johannes und die Jünger der Pharisäer fasten; warum fasten dann deine Jünger nicht?« (Mt 9,14; Lk 5,33) 19 Jesus gab ihnen zur Antwort: »Können etwa bei einer Hochzeit die Gäste^[8] fasten, während der Bräutigam noch bei ihnen ist? Solange sie den Bräutigam bei sich haben, können sie doch nicht fasten! 20 Es kommt allerdings eine Zeit, wo ihnen der Bräutigam entrissen sein wird; dann^[9] werden sie fasten. 21 Niemand flickt ein altes Kleid mit einem neuen Stück Stoff, sonst reißt das neue Stück wieder aus, und der Riss im alten Stoff wird noch größer.^[10] 22 Auch füllt niemand jungen Wein in alte Schläuche. Er ´gärt ja noch und` würde die Schläuche zum Platzen bringen, und der Wein samt den Schläuchen wäre verloren^[11]. Nein, jungen Wein füllt man in neue Schläuche.« (Mt 9,17; Lk 5,37)

Jesus ist Herr über den Sabbat

23 An einem Sabbat ging Jesus durch die Felder. Seine Jünger fingen an, am Weg entlang Ähren abzureißen ´und die Körner zu essen`. (Mt 12,1; Lk 6,1) 24 Da sagten die Pharisäer zu ihm: »Hast du gesehen, was sie da tun? Das ist doch am Sabbat nicht erlaubt!« 25 Jesus entgegnete: »Habt ihr nie gelesen, was David tat, als er und seine Begleiter nichts zu essen hatten und Hunger litten? 26 Wie er damals – zur Zeit des Hohenpriesters Abjatar – ins Haus Gottes ging und von den geweihten Broten aß, von denen doch nur die Priester essen dürfen, und wie er auch seinen Begleitern davon gab? « (1Sam 21,2) 27 Und Jesus fügte hinzu: »Der Sabbat ist für den Menschen gemacht, nicht der Mensch für den Sabbat. 28 Darum ist der Menschensohn Herr auch über den Sabbat.«

And he arose and followed him. 15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him. 16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? 17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. 18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not? 19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. 20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days. 21 No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse. 22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles. 23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. 24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? 25 And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? 26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him? 27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: 28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
