Johannes der Täufer – Jesu Wegbereiter

1 Dies ist der Anfang des Evangeliums von Jesus Christus, dem Sohn Gottes. (Mt 3,1; Lk 3,1; Joh 1,6; Joh 1,15; Joh 1,35)

2 Im Buch des Propheten Jesaja heißt es: »Ich sende meinen Boten vor dir her; er wird dein Wegbereiter sein.« 3 »Hört, eine Stimme ruft in der Wüste: ›Bereitet dem Herrn den Weg! Ebnet seine Pfade!‹«^[1] 4 Das ging in Erfüllung, als Johannes der Täufer in der Wüste auftrat und die Menschen aufforderte^[2], umzukehren und sich taufen zu lassen, um Vergebung der Sünden zu empfangen^[3]. 5 Die ganze Bevölkerung von Judäa und die gesamte Einwohnerschaft Jerusalems kamen zu ihm in die Wüste; sie bekannten ihre Sünden und ließen sich^[4] im Jordan von ihm taufen. 6 Johannes trug ein Gewand aus Kamelhaar und um seine Hüften einen Ledergürtel und lebte von Heuschrecken und wildem Honig. 7 Er verkündete: »Nach mir kommt einer, der stärker ist als ich; ich bin es nicht einmal wert, mich zu bücken und ihm die Riemen seiner Sandalen zu lösen. 8 Ich habe euch mit Wasser getauft, er aber wird euch mit^[5] dem Heiligen Geist taufen.«

Taufe und Versuchung Jesu

9 In jener Zeit kam auch Jesus aus Nazaret in Galiläa zu Johannes und ließ sich im Jordan von ihm taufen. (Mt 3,13; Lk 3,21; Lk 4,1; Joh 1,32)

10 Als er aus dem Wasser stieg, sah er, wie der Himmel aufriss und der Geist ´Gottes` wie eine Taube auf ihn herabkam. 11 Und aus dem Himmel sprach eine Stimme: »Du bist mein geliebter Sohn, an dir habe ich Freude.« 12 Danach wurde Jesus vom Geist gedrängt, in die Wüste hinauszugehen. 13 Dort blieb er vierzig Tage und wurde vom Satan versucht. Er war bei den wilden Tieren, und die Engel dienten ihm.

Jesu erstes öffentliches Wirken in Galiläa

14 Nachdem Johannes gefangen genommen worden war, ging Jesus nach Galiläa und verkündete dort die Botschaft^[6] Gottes. (Mt 4,12; Lk 4,14) 15 Er sagte: »Die Zeit ist gekommen^[7], das Reich Gottes ist nahe. Kehrt um und glaubt diese gute Botschaft^[8]!«

Die Berufung der ersten Jünger

16 Als Jesus am See von Galiläa entlangging, sah er zwei Fischer, die auf dem See ihre Netze auswarfen, Simon und seinen Bruder Andreas. (Mt 4,18; Lk 5,1) 17 Jesus sagte zu ihnen: »Kommt, folgt mir nach! Ich will euch zu Menschenfischern machen.« 18 Sofort ließen sie ihre Netze liegen und folgten ihm. 19 Er war noch nicht viel weiter gegangen, da sah er zwei Männer, die im Boot saßen und ihre Netze in Ordnung brachten, Jakobus, den Sohn des Zebedäus, und seinen Bruder Johannes. 20 Jesus forderte sie ebenfalls auf, mit ihm zu kommen.^[9] Da ließen sie ihren Vater Zebedäus mit den Arbeitern^[10] im Boot zurück und schlossen sich Jesus an.

Austreibung eines bösen Geistes in der Synagoge von Kafarnaum

21 Sie kamen nach Kafarnaum. Gleich am darauf folgenden Sabbat ging Jesus in die Synagoge und sprach dort zu den Menschen^[11]. (Lk 4,31) 22 Sie waren von seiner Lehre tief beeindruckt, denn er lehrte sie nicht wie die Schriftgelehrten, sondern mit Vollmacht. 23 In der^[12] Synagoge war auch ein Mann, der einen bösen^[13] Geist hatte. Er schrie: 24 »Was willst du von uns, Jesus von Nazaret? Bist du gekommen, um uns zugrunde zu richten?^[14] Ich weiß, wer du bist: der Heilige Gottes!« – 25 »Schweig!«, befahl ihm Jesus. »Verlass diesen Mann!« 26 Da riss der böse Geist den Mann hin und her und verließ ihn mit einem lauten Schrei. 27 Alle waren erstaunt und erschrocken, und einer sagte zum anderen: »Was hat das zu bedeuten? Hier wird mit Vollmacht eine neue Lehre verkündet. Sogar den bösen Geistern befiehlt er^[15], und sie gehorchen ihm!« 28 Bald gab es im gesamten Gebiet von Galiläa keinen Ort mehr, an dem man nicht von Jesus sprach.

Weiteres Wirken Jesu in Kafarnaum

29 Nachdem sie die Synagoge verlassen hatten, gingen sie in das Haus von Simon und Andreas; auch Jakobus und Johannes kamen mit. (Mt 8,14; Lk 4,38) 30 Simons Schwiegermutter lag mit Fieber im Bett, und man bat Jesus, ihr zu helfen^[16]. 31 Er ging zu ihr, ergriff sie bei der Hand und richtete sie auf. Da verschwand das Fieber, und sie sorgte für das Wohl Jesu und seiner Begleiter^[17]. 32 Am Abend, als die Sonne untergegangen war, brachte man alle Kranken und Besessenen zu Jesus. 33 Die ganze Stadt war vor dem Haus^[18] versammelt, 34 und er heilte viele Menschen, die an den verschiedensten Krankheiten litten, und trieb viele Dämonen aus. Den Dämonen verbot er zu reden, denn sie wussten, wer er war.

Jesu Botschaft soll alle erreichen

35 Früh am Morgen, als es noch völlig dunkel war, stand Jesus auf, verließ ´das Haus^[19]` und ging an einen einsamen Ort, um dort zu beten. (Lk 4,42) 36 Simon und die, die bei ihm waren, eilten ihm nach, 37 und als sie ihn gefunden hatten, sagten sie zu ihm: »Alle fragen nach dir.« 38 Er aber erwiderte: »Lasst uns von hier weggehen in die umliegenden Ortschaften, damit ich auch dort ´die Botschaft vom Reich Gottes` verkünden kann; denn dazu bin ich gekommen.« 39 So zog er durch ganz Galiläa, verkündete in den^[20] Synagogen ´die Botschaft vom Reich Gottes` und trieb die Dämonen aus.

Heilung eines Aussätzigen

40 Einmal kam ein Aussätziger zu Jesus, warf sich vor ihm auf die Knie und flehte ihn an: »Wenn du willst, kannst du mich rein machen!« (Mt 8,1; Lk 5,12) 41 Von tiefem Mitleid ergriffen, streckte Jesus^[21] die Hand aus und berührte ihn. »Ich will es«, sagte er, »sei rein!« 42 Im selben Augenblick verschwand der Aussatz, und der Mann war geheilt^[22]. 43 Jesus schickte ihn daraufhin sofort weg. Mit aller Entschiedenheit 44 ermahnte er ihn: »Hüte dich, mit jemand darüber zu sprechen! Geh stattdessen zum Priester, zeig dich ihm und bring für deine Reinigung das Opfer dar, das Mose vorgeschrieben hat. Das soll ein Zeichen^[23] für sie sein.« 45 Der Mann ging weg, doch er fing sofort an, überall zu erzählen, wie er geheilt worden war. Bald war die Sache so bekannt, dass Jesus in keine Stadt mehr gehen konnte, ohne Aufsehen zu erregen. Er hielt sich daher außerhalb der Ortschaften in unbewohnten Gegenden auf, aber auch dort kamen die Leute von überallher zu ihm.

I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. 25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. 26 And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. 27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him. 28 And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee. 29 And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 30 But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her. 31 And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them. 32 And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils. 33 And all the city was gathered together at the door. 34 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him. 35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. 36 And Simon and they that were with him followed after him. 37 And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee. 38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth. 39 And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and cast out devils. 40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. 42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed. 43 And he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent him away; 44 And saith unto him, See thou say nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. 45 But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.
