1¡Escuchen todos: la clase alta y la clase baja,2ricos y pobres del mundo entero! Escuchen mis palabras,3porque son sabias y mis pensamientos están llenos de discernimiento.4Escucharé muchos proverbios y resolveré enigmas al son del arpa.5No hay por qué temer cuando llega la adversidad, ni aunque este rodeado de enemigos.6Ellos confían en sus bienes y se jactan de sus riquezas.7Pero nadie puede salvar a nadie de la muerte, pagándole rescate a Dios por su vida.8Tal salvación no se da fácilmente, pues nadie puede pagar suficiente,9para vivir por siempre y no llegar a ver la fosa.10Nadie puede negar que todos mueren, que sabios e insensatos perecen por igual y, que sus riquezas se quedan para otros.11La tumba será su hogar eterno donde se quedarán para siempre. Ponen su nombre a sus propiedades pero tendrán que dejarles sus riquezas a otros.12El ser humano, con toda su pompa, tiene que morir como cualquier animal.13Así es el destino de los necios, aunque se diga de ellos que tuvieron gran sabiduría.14Como ovejas están destinados al sepulcro; donde la muerte será su pastor. Por la mañana los gobernarán los justos. Sus cuerpos se pudrirán en el sepulcro lejos de sus suntuosas propiedades.15Pero en cuanto a mí; Dios redimirá mi alma del poder de la muerte; porque él me recibirá.16Así que no se desanimen cuando los malvados se enriquecen y edifican bellas mansiones.17Porque al morir nada se llevan consigo. Their form shall be consumed in Sheol, with no place to dwell.
