خلافة يشوع لموسى

1 وَمَضَى مُوسَى يَقُولُ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ: 2 «أَنَا الْيَوْمَ قَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ الْعُمْرِ مِئَةً وَعِشْرِينَ سَنَةً، وَصِرْتُ عَاجِزاً عَنْ قِيَادَتِكُمْ. وَقَدْ قَالَ الرَّبُّ لِي: لَنْ تَعْبُرَ هَذَا الأُرْدُنَّ. 3 وَلَكِنَّ الرَّبَّ إِلَهَكُمْ عَابِرٌ أَمَامَكُمْ، وَهُوَ يُبِيدُ تِلْكَ الأُمَمَ مِنْ قُدَّامِكُمْ فَتَرِثُونَهُمْ. وَسَيَكُونُ يَشُوعُ قَائِدَكُمْ كَمَا وَعَدَ الرَّبُّ. 4 سَيَصْنَعُ الرَّبُّ بِهِمْ كَمَا صَنَعَ بِسِيحُونَ وَعُوجَ مَلِكَيِ الأَمُورِيِّينَ وَبِأَرْضِهِمَا وَأَبَادَهُمَا. 5 فَمَتَى أَخْضَعَهُمُ الرَّبُّ لَكُمْ فَافْعَلُوا بِهِمْ بِمُوْجِبِ جَمِيعِ الْوَصَايَا الَّتِي أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِها. 6 تَقَوَّوْا وَتَشَجَّعُوا. لَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَلا تَجْزَعُوا مِنْهُمْ، لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ إِلَهَكُمْ سَائِرٌ مَعَكُمْ، لَا يُهْمِلُكُمْ وَلا يَتْرُكُكُمْ». 7 فَاسْتَدْعَى مُوسَى يَشُوعَ وَقَالَ لَهُ أَمَامَ جَمِيعِ إِسْرَائِيلَ: «تَقَوَّ وَتَشَجَّعْ، لأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ مَاضٍ مَعَ هَذَا الشَّعْبِ إِلَى الأَرْضِ الَّتِي حَلَفَ الرَّبُّ لِآبَائِهِمْ أَنْ يَهَبَهَا لَهُمْ، وَأَنْتَ تُوَزِّعُهَا عَلَيْهِمْ. 8 هُوَذَا الرَّبُّ يَتَقَدَّمُكَ، هُوَ يَكُونُ مَعَكَ، لَا يُهْمِلُكَ وَلا يَتْرُكُكَ. لِذَلِكَ لَا تَخَفْ وَلا تَرْتَعِبْ».

9 وَكَتَبَ مُوسَى كَلِمَاتِ هَذِهِ التَّوْرَاةِ وَسَلَّمَهَا لِلْكَهَنَةِ بَنِي لاوِي حَامِلِي تَابُوتِ عَهْدِ الرَّبِّ وَإِلَى سَائِرِ شُيُوخِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ. 10 وَأَمَرَهُمْ مُوسَى قَائِلاً: «فِي خِتَامِ السَّبْعِ السَّنَوَاتِ، فِي مِيعَادِ سَنَةِ الإِبْرَاءِ مِنَ الدُّيُونِ، فِي عِيدِ الْمَظَالِّ 11 عِنْدَمَا يَجْتَمِعُ جَمِيعُ الإِسْرَائِيلِيِّينَ لِلْعِبَادَةِ أَمَامَ الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ فِي الْمَوْضِعِ الَّذِي يَخْتَارُهُ، تَتْلُونَ نُصُوصَ هَذِهِ التَّوْرَاةِ فِي مَسَامِعِهِمْ. 12 اجْمَعُوا الشَّعْبَ رِجَالاً وَنِسَاءً وَأَطْفَالاً، وَالْغُرَبَاءَ الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي مُدُنِكُمْ لِيَسْمَعُوا وَيَتَعَلَّمُوا تَقْوَى الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ، وَيَحْرِصُوا عَلَى الْعَمَلِ بِجَمِيعِ نُصُوصِ هَذِهِ التَّوْرَاةِ. 13 وَكَذَلِكَ لِيَسْمَعَ أَوْلادُهُمُ الشَّرِيعَةَ الَّتِي لَمْ يَعْرِفُوهَا، لِيَتَعَلَّمُوا تَقْوَى الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ طَوَالَ الأَيَّامِ الَّتِي يَعِيشُونَهَا عَلَى الأَرْضِ الَّتِي أَنْتُمْ عَابِرُونَ نَهْرَ الأُرْدُنِّ إِلَيْهَا لِتَرِثُوهَا».

14 وَكَانَ الرَّبُّ قَدْ قَالَ لِمُوسَى: «هَا أَنْتَ قَدْ أَوْشَكْتَ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ، وَأَيَّامُ حَيَاتِكَ بَاتَتْ مَعْدُودَةً. فَادْعُ يَشُوعَ، وَقِفَا كِلاكُمَا عِنْدَ خَيْمَةِ الاجْتِمَاعِ لِكَيْ أُوصِيَهُ». فَمَضَى مُوسَى وَيَشُوعُ وَمَثَلا عِنْدَ خَيْمَةِ الاجْتِمَاعِ. 15 فَتَجَلَّى الرَّبُّ فِي الْخَيْمَةِ، فِي سَحَابَةٍ. وَوَقَفَتِ السَّحَابَةُ عِنْدَ بَابِ الْخَيْمَةِ. 16 وَقَالَ الرَّبُّ لِمُوسَى: «مَا إِنْ تَمُوتُ وَتَلْحَقُ بِآبَائِكَ حَتَّى يُسْرِعَ هَذَا الشَّعْبُ وَيَفْجُرَ وَرَاءَ آلِهَةِ الْغُرَبَاءِ الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي الأَرْضِ الَّتِي هُوَ دَاخِلٌ إِلَيْهَا فِي وَسَطِهِمْ، وَيَتَخَلَّى عَنِّي وَيَنْكُثَ عَهْدِي الَّذِي أَبْرَمْتُهُ مَعَهُ، 17 فَيَحْتَدِمُ غَضَبِي عَلَيْهِ فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ، وَأَنْبِذُهُ وَأَحْجُبُ وَجْهِي عَنْهُ، فَيَكُونُ فَرِيسَةً. وَتَلْحَقُ بِهِ شُرُورٌ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمَصَائِبُ، حَتَّى يَقُولَ: أَلَيْسَ لأَنَّ إِلَهِي قَدْ هَجَرَنِي، قَدْ أَصَابَتْنِي هَذِهِ الشُّرُورُ؟ 18 وَأَحْجُبُ وَجْهِي عَنْهُمْ مِنْ أَجْلِ جَمِيعِ مَا ارْتَكَبُوهُ مِنْ شُرُورٍ، إِذْ سَعَوْا وَرَاءَ آلِهَةٍ أُخْرَى. 19 فَالآنَ دَوِّنُوا لأَنْفُسِكُمْ هَذَا النَّشِيدَ وَعَلِّمُوهُ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ. ضَعُوهُ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِمْ لِيَكُونَ هَذَا النَّشِيدُ شَهَادَةً عَلَيْهِمْ. 20 لأَنِّي حَالَمَا أُدْخِلُهُمْ إِلَى الأَرْضِ الَّتِي تَفِيضُ لَبَناً وَعَسَلاً، هَذِهِ الأَرْضِ الَّتِي حَلَفْتُ أَنْ تَكُونَ لِآبَائِهِمْ، فَيَأْكُلُونَ وَيَشْبَعُونَ وَيَسْمَنُونَ، فَإِنَّهُمْ يَسْعَوْنَ وَرَاءَ آلِهَةٍ أُخْرَى وَيَعْبُدُونَهَا وَيَزْدَرُونَ بِي نَاقِضِينَ عَهْدِي. 21 فَمَتَى حَلَّتْ بِهِمْ شُرُورٌ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمَصَائِبُ جَمَّةٌ، يَشْهَدُ هَذَا النَّشِيدُ عَلَيْهِمْ، لأَنَّهُ سَيَظَلُّ يَتَرَدَّدُ عَلَى أَفْوَاهِ ذُرِّيَّتِهِمْ، إِذْ إِنَّنِي عَالِمٌ بِخَوَاطِرِهِمِ الَّتِي تَدُورُ بِخَلَدِهِمِ الآنَ قَبْلَ أَنْ أُدْخِلَهُمْ إِلَى الأَرْضِ كَمَا حَلَفْتُ». 22 فَكَتَبَ مُوسَى هَذَا النَّشِيدَ فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ، وَعَلَّمَهُ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ. 23 وَأَوْصَى الرَّبُّ يَشُوعَ بْنَ نُونَ قَائِلاً: «تَقَوَّ وَتَشَجَّعْ، لأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ تُدْخِلُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِلَى الأَرْضِ الَّتِي أَقْسَمْتُ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا، وَأَنَا أَكُونُ مَعَكَ». 24 وَعِنْدَمَا أَتَمَّ مُوسَى تَدْوِينَ نُصُوصِ هَذِهِ التَّوْرَاةِ كَامِلَةً فِي كِتَابٍ، 25 أَمَرَ اللّاوِيِّينَ حَامِلِي تَابُوتِ عَهْدِ الرَّبِّ قَائِلاً: 26 «خُذُوا كِتَابَ التَّوْرَاةِ هَذَا وَضَعُوهُ إِلَى جِوَارِ تَابُوتِ عَهْدِ الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ، لِيَكُونَ هُنَاكَ شَاهِداً عَلَيْكُمْ، 27 لأَنِّي أَعْرِفُ تَمَرُّدَكُمْ وَقَسَاوَةَ قُلُوبِكُمْ. إِذْ وَأَنَا مَازِلْتُ حَيًّا مَعَكُمُ الْيَوْمَ أَخَذْتُمْ فِي مُقَاوَمَةِ الرَّبِّ. فَكَمْ بِالأَحْرَى تَتَمَرَّدُونَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِي؟ 28 اِجْمَعُوا إِلَيَّ جَمِيعَ شُيُوخِ أَسْبَاطِكُمْ وَعُرَفَاءَكُمْ، لأَتْلُوَ عَلَى مَسَامِعِهِمْ هَذِهِ الْكَلِمَاتِ، وَأُشْهِدَ عَلَيْهِمِ السَّمَاءَ وَالأَرْضَ. 29 لأَنَّنِي وَاثِقٌ أَنَّكُمْ بَعْدَ مَوْتِي تَفْسَدُونَ وَتَضِلُّونَ عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ الَّتِي أَوْصَيْتُكُمْ بِها، فَيُصِيبُكُمُ الشَّرُّ فِي آخِرِ الأَيَّامِ، لأَنَّكُمْ تَقْتَرِفُونَ الشَّرَّ أَمَامَ الرَّبِّ حَتَّى تُثِيرُوا غَيْظَهُ بِمَا تَجْنِيهِ أَيْدِيكُمْ.»

Giosuè successore di Mosè

1 Mosè rivolse ancora queste parole a tutto Israele. 2 Disse loro: «Io ho oggi centovent’anni; non posso più andare e venire, e il Signore mi ha detto: “Tu non passerai questo Giordano”. 3 Il Signore, il tuo Dio, sarà colui che passerà davanti a te e distruggerà, dinanzi a te, quelle nazioni e tu possederai il loro paese; e Giosuè passerà davanti a te, come il Signore ha detto. 4 Il Signore tratterà quelle nazioni come trattò Sicon e Og, re degli Amorei, che egli distrusse con il loro paese. 5 Il Signore le darà in vostro potere e voi le tratterete secondo tutti gli ordini che vi ho dati. 6 Siate forti e coraggiosi, non temete e non vi spaventate di loro, perché il Signore, il tuo Dio, è colui che cammina con te; egli non ti lascerà e non ti abbandonerà». 7 Poi Mosè chiamò Giosuè e, in presenza di tutto Israele, gli disse: «Sii forte e coraggioso, poiché tu entrerai con questo popolo nel paese che il Signore giurò ai loro padri di dar loro e tu glielo darai in possesso. 8 Il Signore cammina egli stesso davanti a te; egli sarà con te; non ti lascerà e non ti abbandonerà; non temere e non perderti d’animo».

9 Mosè scrisse questa legge e la diede ai sacerdoti figli di Levi, che portavano l’arca del patto del Signore, e a tutti gli anziani d’Israele. 10 Mosè diede loro quest’ordine: «Alla fine di ogni settennio, al tempo dell’anno del condono, alla festa delle Capanne, 11 quando tutto Israele verrà a presentarsi davanti al Signore Dio tuo, nel luogo che egli avrà scelto, leggerai questa legge davanti a tutto Israele, in modo che egli la oda. 12 Radunerai il popolo; uomini, donne, bambini, con lo straniero che abita nelle tue città, affinché odano, imparino a temere il Signore, il vostro Dio, e abbiano cura di mettere in pratica tutte le parole di questa legge. 13 E i loro figli, che non ne avranno ancora avuto conoscenza, la udranno e impareranno a temere il Signore, il vostro Dio, tutto il tempo che vivrete nel paese del quale voi andate a prendere possesso passando il Giordano».

Mosè e Giosuè dunque andarono e si presentarono nella tenda di convegno. 15 Il Signore apparve nella tenda in una colonna di nuvola e la colonna di nuvola si fermò sopra l’ingresso della tenda. 16 Il Signore disse a Mosè: «Ecco, tu stai per addormentarti con i tuoi padri; e questo popolo andrà a prostituirsi seguendo gli dèi stranieri del paese nel quale sta per entrare; mi abbandonerà e violerà il patto che io ho stabilito con lui. 17 In quel giorno la mia ira si infiammerà contro di lui; e io li abbandonerò, nasconderò loro il mio volto e saranno divorati. Molti mali e molte angosce piomberanno loro addosso; perciò in quel giorno diranno: “Questi mali non ci sono forse caduti addosso perché il nostro Dio non è in mezzo a noi?” 18 In quel giorno io nasconderò del tutto il mio volto, a causa di tutto il male che avranno fatto rivolgendosi ad altri dèi. 19 Scrivetevi dunque questo cantico e insegnatelo ai figli d’Israele; mettetelo loro in bocca, affinché questo cantico mi serva di testimonianza contro i figli d’Israele. 20 Quando li avrò introdotti nel paese che promisi ai loro padri con giuramento, paese dove scorrono il latte e il miele, ed essi avranno mangiato, si saranno saziati e ingrassati e si saranno rivolti ad altri dèi per servirli, e avranno disprezzato me e violato il mio patto, 21 e quando molti mali e molte angosce saranno piombati loro addosso, allora questo cantico testimonierà contro di loro, poiché esso non sarà dimenticato, e rimarrà sulle labbra dei loro discendenti. 7 Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. 14 And the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, the days approach when you must die. Call Joshua and present yourselves in the tent of meeting, that I may commission him.” And Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves in the tent of meeting. 17 Then my anger will be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them and hide my face from them, and they will be devoured. 18 And I will surely hide my face in that day because of all the evil that they have done, because they have turned to other gods. (تث 31:20) 19 “Now therefore write this song and teach it to the people of Israel. Put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the people of Israel. 21 And when many evils and troubles have come upon them, this song shall confront them as a witness (for it will live unforgotten in the mouths of their offspring). For I know what they are inclined to do even today, before I have brought them into the land that I swore to give.” (تث 31:19; هو 5:3; هو 13:5) 22 So Moses wrote this song the same day and taught it to the people of Israel. 23 And the LORD^[1] commissioned Joshua the son of Nun and said, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall bring the people of Israel into the land that I swore to give them. 24 When Moses had finished writing the words of this law in a book to the very end, (تث 31:9) 25 Moses commanded the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD, (تث 9:1) 26 “Take this Book of the Law and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against you. (تث 31:19; 2مل 22:8) 27 For I know how rebellious and stubborn you are. Behold, even today while I am yet alive with you, you have been rebellious against the LORD. How much more after my death!
