1 يَا اللهُ احْكُمْ بِبَرَاءَتِي، وَدَافِعْ عَنْ قَضِيَّتِي ضِدَّ شَعْبٍ لَا يَرْحَمُ. أَنْقِذْنِي مِنَ الْغَشَّاشِ وَالظَّالِمِ. 2 لأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ حِصْنِي. لِمَاذَا رَفَضْتَنِي؟ لِمَاذَا أَطُوفُ نَائِحاً مِنْ مُضَايَقَةِ الْعَدُوِّ؟ 3 أَرْسِلْ نُورَكَ وَحَقَّكَ فَيُرْشِدَانِي، وَيَأْتِيَا بِي إِلَى جَبَلِكَ الْمُقَدَّسِ وَإِلَى مَسَاكِنِكَ، 4 فَأُقْبِلَ إِلَى مَذْبَحِ اللهِ، إِلَى اللهِ فَرَحِي وَأُسَبِّحُكَ بِالعُودِ يَا إِلَهِي. 5 لِمَاذَا أَنْتِ مُكْتَئِبَةٌ يَا نَفْسِي؟ لِمَاذَا أَنْتِ قَلِقَةٌ فِي دَاخِلِي؟ تَرَجَّيِ اللهَ فَإِنِّي سَأَظَلُّ أَحْمَدُهُ، لأَنَّهُ عَوْنِي وَإِلَهِي.

1 Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people, from the deceitful and unjust man deliver me! (1صم 24:15; مز 5:6; مز 7:8; مز 26:1) 2 For you are the God in whom I take refuge; why have you rejected me? Why do I go about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? (مز 31:4; مز 42:9; مز 44:9) 3 Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling! (مز 2:6; مز 40:11; مز 46:4; مز 57:3; مز 84:1) 4 Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God. 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God. (مز 42:5; مز 42:11)
