1 يَا رَبُّ لَمْ يَشْمَخْ قَلْبِي وَلَا اسْتَعْلَتْ عَيْنَايَ وَلَا حَفَلْتُ بِالْعَظَائِمِ وَمَا يَفُوقُ إِدْرَاكِي. 2 وَلَكِنِّي سَكَّنْتُ نَفْسِي وَهَدَّأْتُهَا، فَصَارَ قَلْبِي مُطْمَئِنّاً كَطِفْلٍ مَفْطُومٍ مُسْتَسْلِمٍ بَيْنَ ذِرَاعَيْ أُمِّهِ 3 لِيَتَرَجَّ إِسْرَائِيلُ الرَّبَّ مِنَ الآنَ وَإِلَى الأَبَدِ.

1 A Song of Ascents. Of David. O Lord, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. (أي 42:3; مز 101:5; مز 120:1; مز 138:6; إش 57:15; إر 45:5; رو 12:16) 2 But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. (مت 18:3; 1كو 14:20) 3 O Israel, hope in the Lord from this time forth and forevermore. (مز 130:7)
