1 مَا أَكْثَرَ مَا ضَايَقُونِي فِي حَدَاثَتِي يَقُولُ إِسْرَائِيلُ. 2 مَا أَكْثَرَ مَا ضَايَقُونِي فِي حَدَاثَتِي، لَكِنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَتَغَلَّبُوا عَلَيَّ. 3 جَرَحُوا ظَهْرِي جُرُوحاً عَمِيقَةً، فَصَارَ كَالأَتْلامِ (خُطُوطِ الْمِحْرَاثِ) الطَّوِيلَةِ فِي حَقْلٍ مَحْرُوثٍ. 4 الرَّبُّ عَادِلٌ، كَسَرَ أَغْلالَ عُبُودِيَّةِ الأَشْرَارِ. 5 فَلْيَخْزَ وَلْيُدْبِرْ جَمِيعُ مُبْغِضِي صِهْيَوْنَ. 6 لِيَكُونُوا كَالْعُشْبِ النَّابِتِ عَلَى السُّطُوحِ، الَّذِي يَجِفُّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْمُوَ، 7 فَلَا يَمْلأُ الْحَاصِدُ مِنْهُ يَدَهُ، وَلَا الْحَازِمُ حِضْنَهُ. 8 وَلَا يَقُولُ عَابِرُو السَّبِيلِ لَهُمْ: «لِتَكُنْ عَلَيْكُمْ بَرَكَةُ الرَّبِّ: نُبَارِكُكُمْ بِاسْمِ الرَّبِّ».

1 A Song of Ascents. “Greatly[1] have they afflicted me from my youth”— let Israel now say— (خر 1:14; قض 3:8; قض 3:14; قض 4:3; قض 6:2; قض 10:8; مز 120:1; مز 124:1; إش 47:12; إر 2:2; إر 22:21; هو 2:15) 2 “Greatly have they afflicted me from my youth, yet they have not prevailed against me. (مز 129:1; 2كو 4:8) 3 The plowers plowed upon my back; they made long their furrows.” (إش 50:6; إش 51:23; مي 3:12) 4 The Lord is righteous; he has cut the cords of the wicked. (مز 2:3) 5 May all who hate Zion be put to shame and turned backward! (مز 35:4) 6 Let them be like the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up, (2مل 19:26; أي 8:12; مز 37:2; إش 37:27) 7 with which the reaper does not fill his hand nor the binder of sheaves his arms, 8 nor do those who pass by say, “The blessing of the Lord be upon you! We bless you in the name of the Lord!” (را 2:4; مز 118:26)
