1 طُوبَى لِلإِنْسَانِ الَّذِي لَا يَتْبَعُ مَشُورَةَ الأَشْرَارِ، ولَا يَقِفُ فِي طَرِيقِ الْخَاطِئِينَ، وَلَا يُجَالِسُ الْمُسْتَهْزِئِينَ. 2 بَلْ فِي شَرِيعَةِ الرَّبِّ بَهْجَتُهُ، يَتَأَمَّلُ فِيهَا نَهَاراً وَلَيْلاً. 3 فَيَكُونُ كَشَجَرَةٍ مَغْرُوسَةٍ عِنْدَ مَجَارِي الْمِيَاهِ، تُعْطِي ثَمَرَهَا فِي حِينِهِ، وَوَرَقُهَا لَا يَذْبُلُ، وَكُلُّ مَا يَصْنَعُهُ يُفْلِحُ. 4 لَيْسَ كَذَلِكَ حَالُ الأَشْرَارِ، بَلْ إنَّهُمْ مِثْلُ التِّبْنِ الَّذِي تُبَدِّدُهُ الرِّيحُ. 5 لِذَلِكَ لَا تَقُومُ لَهُمْ قَائِمَةٌ فِي يَوْمِ الْقَضَاءِ، وَلَا يَكُونُ لِلْخُطَاةِ مَكَانٌ بَيْنَ جَمَاعَةِ الأَبْرَارِ، 6 لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ يَحْفَظُ طَرِيقَ الأَبْرَارِ، أَمَّا طَرِيقُ الأَشْرَارِ فَمَصِيرُهَا الهَلاكُ.

1 Blessed is the man[1] who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; (أي 21:16; مز 26:4; مز 107:32; أم 1:10; أم 1:22; أم 3:34; أم 4:14; أم 19:29; أم 21:24; أم 29:8; إش 28:14; إر 15:17) 2 but his delight is in the law[2] of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. (يش 1:8; مز 112:1; مز 119:1; مز 119:35; مز 119:47; مز 119:92; مز 119:97) 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. (تك 39:3; تك 39:23; عد 24:6; أي 29:19; مز 46:4; مز 128:2; إش 3:10; إش 34:4; إر 17:8; حز 19:10; حز 47:12) 4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. (أي 21:18) 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; (مز 5:5; مز 76:7; حز 13:9; نا 1:6; لو 21:36; أف 6:13) 6 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
