Psalm 80

Menge Bibel

Psalm 80

New International Reader’s Version

von Biblica
1 Shepherd of Israel, hear us. You lead the people of Joseph like a flock. You sit on your throne between the cherubim. Show your glory2 to the people of Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh. Call your strength into action. Come and save us.3 God, make us new again. May you be pleased with us. Then we will be saved.4 LORD God, you rule over all. How long will you be angry? Will you be angry with your people even when they pray to you?5 You have given us tears as our food. You have made us drink tears by the bowlful.6 You have let our neighbours mock us. Our enemies laugh at us.7 God who rules over all, make us new again. May you be pleased with us. Then we will be saved.8 You brought Israel out of Egypt. Israel was like a vine. After you drove the nations out of Canaan, you planted the vine in their land.9 You prepared the ground for it. It took root and spread out over the whole land.10 The mountains were covered with its shade. The shade of its branches covered the mighty cedar trees.11 Your vine sent its branches out all the way to the Mediterranean Sea. They reached as far as the River Euphrates.12 Why have you broken down the walls around your vine? Now all who pass by it can pick its grapes.13 Wild pigs from the forest destroy it. Insects from the fields feed on it.14 God who rules over all, return to us! Look down from heaven and see us! Watch over your vine.15 Guard the root you have planted with your powerful right hand. Take care of the branch you have raised up for yourself.16 Your vine has been cut down and burned in the fire. You have been angry with us, and we are dying.17 May you honour the people at your right hand. May you honour the nation you have raised up for yourself.18 Then we won’t turn away from you. Give us new life. We will worship you.19 LORD God who rules over all, make us new again. May you be pleased with us. Then we will be saved.

1 To the choirmaster: according to Lilies. A Testimony. Of Asaph, a Psalm. Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock. You who are enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth. (2Mo 25,22; 1Sam 4,4; 2Sam 6,2; Ps 50,1; Ps 50,2; Ps 60,1; Ps 77,20; Ps 78,67; Ps 81,5; Ps 95,7; Ps 99,1)2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up your might and come to save us! (4Mo 2,18; Ps 35,23; Ps 118,14; Ps 118,21)3 Restore us,[1] O God; let your face shine, that we may be saved! (4Mo 6,25; Ps 4,6; Ps 60,1; Ps 80,19; Ps 85,4; Kla 5,21)4 O Lord God of hosts, how long will you be angry with your people’s prayers? (Ps 59,5; Ps 74,10; Ps 79,5)5 You have fed them with the bread of tears and given them tears to drink in full measure. (1Kön 22,27; Ps 42,3; Ps 102,9; Jes 30,20)6 You make us an object of contention for our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves. (Ps 44,13)7 Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved! (Ps 80,3)8 You brought a vine out of Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it. (Ps 44,2; Jes 5,1; Jes 27,2; Jer 2,21; Jer 12,10; Hes 17,6; Mt 21,33; Mk 12,1; Lk 20,9)9 You cleared the ground for it; it took deep root and filled the land. (Jos 24,12)10 The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches.11 It sent out its branches to the sea and its shoots to the River.[2] (Ps 72,8)12 Why then have you broken down its walls, so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit? (Ps 89,40; Jes 5,5)13 The boar from the forest ravages it, and all that move in the field feed on it. (Jer 5,6)14 Turn again, O God of hosts! Look down from heaven, and see; have regard for this vine, (Jes 63,15)15 the stock that your right hand planted, and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.16 They have burned it with fire; they have cut it down; may they perish at the rebuke of your face! (Ps 39,11; Ps 76,6; Jes 33,12)17 But let your hand be on the man of your right hand, the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself! (Ps 89,21)18 Then we shall not turn back from you; give us life, and we will call upon your name! (Ps 71,20)19 Restore us, O Lord God of hosts! Let your face shine, that we may be saved! (Ps 80,3; Ps 80,7)
