Die Versiegelten aus dem Volk Israel

1 Danach sah ich vier Engel stehen an den vier Ecken der Erde, die hielten die vier Winde der Erde fest, damit kein Wind über die Erde blase noch über das Meer noch über irgendeinen Baum. (Dan 7,2; Sach 6,5) 2 Und ich sah einen andern Engel aufsteigen vom Aufgang der Sonne her, der hatte das Siegel des lebendigen Gottes und rief mit großer Stimme zu den vier Engeln, denen Macht gegeben war, der Erde und dem Meer Schaden zu tun: 3 Tut der Erde und dem Meer und den Bäumen keinen Schaden, bis wir versiegeln die Knechte unseres Gottes an ihren Stirnen. (Hes 9,4; Hes 9,6; Offb 9,4) 4 Und ich hörte die Zahl derer, die versiegelt wurden: hundertvierundvierzigtausend, die versiegelt waren aus allen Stämmen Israels: (Offb 14,1; Offb 14,3) 5 aus dem Stamm Juda zwölftausend versiegelt, aus dem Stamm Ruben zwölftausend, aus dem Stamm Gad zwölftausend, (1Mo 35,22) 6 aus dem Stamm Asser zwölftausend, aus dem Stamm Naftali zwölftausend, aus dem Stamm Manasse zwölftausend, 7 aus dem Stamm Simeon zwölftausend, aus dem Stamm Levi zwölftausend, aus dem Stamm Issachar zwölftausend, 8 aus dem Stamm Sebulon zwölftausend, aus dem Stamm Josef zwölftausend, aus dem Stamm Benjamin zwölftausend versiegelt.

Die große Schar aus allen Völkern

9 Danach sah ich, und siehe, eine große Schar, die niemand zählen konnte, aus allen Nationen und Stämmen und Völkern und Sprachen; die standen vor dem Thron und vor dem Lamm, angetan mit weißen Kleidern und mit Palmzweigen in ihren Händen, 10 und riefen mit großer Stimme: Das Heil ist bei unserm Gott, der auf dem Thron sitzt, und bei dem Lamm! (Offb 4,2) 11 Und alle Engel standen rings um den Thron und um die Ältesten und um die vier Wesen und fielen nieder vor dem Thron auf ihr Angesicht und beteten Gott an 12 und sprachen: Amen, Lob und Ehre und Weisheit und Dank und Preis und Kraft und Stärke sei unserm Gott von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit! Amen. 13 Und einer der Ältesten antwortete und sprach zu mir: Wer sind diese, die mit den weißen Kleidern angetan sind, und woher sind sie gekommen? 14 Und ich sprach zu ihm: Mein Herr, du weißt es. Und er sprach zu mir: Diese sind’s, die aus der großen Trübsal kommen und haben ihre Kleider gewaschen und haben sie hell gemacht im Blut des Lammes. (Mt 24,21; Offb 12,11; Offb 22,14) 15 Darum sind sie vor dem Thron Gottes und dienen ihm Tag und Nacht in seinem Tempel; und der auf dem Thron sitzt, wird über ihnen wohnen. (Hes 37,27; Offb 21,3) 16 Sie werden nicht mehr hungern noch dürsten; es wird auch nicht auf ihnen lasten die Sonne oder irgendeine Hitze; (Jes 49,10) 17 denn das Lamm mitten auf dem Thron wird sie weiden und leiten zu den Quellen lebendigen Wassers, und Gott wird abwischen alle Tränen von ihren Augen. 144,000 people are marked with the seal of the living God

1 After this I saw four angels. They were standing at the four corners of the earth. They were holding back the four winds of the earth. This kept the winds from blowing on the land or the sea or on any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east. He brought the official seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels. They had been allowed to harm the land and the sea. 3 ‘Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees,’ he said. ‘Wait until we mark with this seal the foreheads of those who serve our God.’ 4 Then I heard how many people were marked with the seal. There were 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel. 5 From the tribe of Judah, 12,000 were marked with the seal. From the tribe of Reuben, 12,000. From the tribe of Gad, 12,000. 6 From the tribe of Asher, 12,000. From the tribe of Naphtali, 12,000. From the tribe of Manasseh, 12,000. 7 From the tribe of Simeon, 12,000. From the tribe of Levi, 12,000. From the tribe of Issachar, 12,000. 8 From the tribe of Zebulun, 12,000. From the tribe of Joseph, 12,000. From the tribe of Benjamin, 12,000.

9 After this I looked, and there in front of me was a huge crowd of people. They stood in front of the throne and in front of the Lamb. There were so many that no one could count them. They came from every nation, tribe and people. That’s true no matter what language they spoke. They were wearing white robes. In their hands they were holding palm branches. 10 They cried out in a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne. Salvation also belongs to the Lamb.’ 11 All the angels were standing around the throne. They were standing around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces in front of the throne and worshipped God. 12 They said, ‘Amen! May praise and glory and wisdom be given to our God for ever and ever. Give him thanks and honour and power and strength. Amen!’ 13 Then one of the elders spoke to me. ‘Who are these people dressed in white robes?’ he asked. ‘Where did they come from?’ 14 I answered, ‘Sir, you know.’ He said, ‘They are the ones who have come out of the time of terrible suffering. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 So ‘they are in front of the throne of God. They serve him day and night in his temple. The one who sits on the throne will be with them to keep them safe. 16 “Never again will they be hungry. Never again will they be thirsty. The sun will not beat down on them.” The heat of the desert will not harm them. (Jes 49,10) 17 The Lamb, who is at the centre of the area around the throne, will be their shepherd. “He will lead them to springs of living water.” “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” ’ (Jes 25,8; Jes 49,10)
