Ermahnung zum Gehorsam gegen das Gesetz

1 Und nun höre, Israel, die Gebote und Rechte, die ich euch lehre, dass ihr sie tun sollt, auf dass ihr lebt und hineinkommt und das Land einnehmt, das euch der HERR, der Gott eurer Väter, gibt. 

2 Ihr sollt nichts dazutun zu dem, was ich euch gebiete, und sollt auch nichts davontun, auf dass ihr bewahrt die Gebote des HERRN, eures Gottes, die ich euch gebiete. (5Mo 13,1; Spr 30,6; Offb 22,18) 

3 Eure Augen haben gesehen, was der HERR getan hat bei Baal-Peor; denn jeden, der dem Baal-Peor folgte, hat der HERR, dein Gott, vertilgt aus eurer Mitte. (4Mo 25,3) 

4 Aber ihr, die ihr dem HERRN, eurem Gott, anhinget, lebt alle heute noch. 

5 Sieh, ich habe euch gelehrt Gebote und Rechte, wie mir der HERR, mein Gott, geboten hat, dass ihr danach tun sollt im Lande, in das ihr kommen werdet, um es einzunehmen. 

6 So haltet sie nun und tut sie! Denn darin zeigt sich den Völkern eure Weisheit und euer Verstand. Wenn sie alle diese Gebote hören werden, dann müssen sie sagen: Was für weise und verständige Leute sind das, ein herrliches Volk! (Jes 2,3) 

7 Denn wo ist so ein herrliches Volk, dem Götter so nahe sind wie uns der HERR, unser Gott, sooft wir ihn anrufen? (2Sam 7,23) 

8 Und wo ist so ein großes Volk, das so gerechte Ordnungen und Gebote hat wie dies ganze Gesetz, das ich euch heute vorlege? (Jer 8,8) 

9 Hüte dich nur und bewahre deine Seele gut, dass du nicht vergisst, was deine Augen gesehen haben, und dass es nicht aus deinem Herzen kommt dein ganzes Leben lang. Und du sollst deinen Kindern und Kindeskindern kundtun (Ps 103,2) 

10 den Tag, da du vor dem HERRN, deinem Gott, standest an dem Berge Horeb, als der HERR zu mir sagte: Versammle mir das Volk, dass ich sie meine Worte hören lasse und sie mich fürchten lernen alle Tage ihres Lebens auf Erden und ihre Kinder lehren. (2Mo 19,17; 5Mo 6,7) 

11 Da tratet ihr herzu und standet unten an dem Berge; der Berg aber stand in Flammen bis in den Himmel hinein, und da war Finsternis, Wolken und Dunkel. 

12 Und der HERR redete mit euch mitten aus dem Feuer. Den Klang der Worte hörtet ihr, aber ihr saht keine Gestalt, nur eine Stimme war da. (5Mo 5,4; 5Mo 5,24) 

13 Und er verkündigte euch seinen Bund, den er euch gebot zu halten, nämlich die Zehn Worte, und schrieb sie auf zwei steinerne Tafeln. (2Mo 31,18) 

14 Und der HERR gebot mir zur selben Zeit, euch Gebote und Rechte zu lehren, dass ihr danach tun sollt in dem Lande, in das ihr zieht, es einzunehmen. 

15 So hütet euch um eures Lebens willen – denn ihr habt keine Gestalt gesehen an dem Tage, da der HERR mit euch redete aus dem Feuer auf dem Berge Horeb –, 

16 dass ihr euch nicht versündigt und euch irgendein Bildnis macht, das gleich sei einem Mann oder einer Frau, (2Mo 20,4) 

17 einem Tier auf dem Land oder Vogel unter dem Himmel, 

18 dem Gewürm auf der Erde oder einem Fisch im Wasser unter der Erde. 

19 Hebe auch nicht deine Augen auf zum Himmel, dass du die Sonne sehest und den Mond und die Sterne, das ganze Heer des Himmels, und fallest ab und betest sie an und dienest denen, die der HERR, dein Gott, zugewiesen hat allen Völkern unter dem ganzen Himmel. (5Mo 17,3; Röm 1,23) 

20 Euch aber hat der HERR angenommen und aus dem Schmelzofen, nämlich aus Ägypten, geführt, dass ihr sein Erbvolk sein sollt, wie ihr es jetzt seid. (2Mo 19,5; 1Kön 8,51; Jes 19,25; Jes 48,10; Jer 11,4) 

21 Und der HERR war so erzürnt über mich um eures Tuns willen, dass er schwor, ich sollte nicht über den Jordan gehen noch in das gute Land kommen, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, zum Erbteil geben wird, (5Mo 3,26) 

22 sondern ich muss in diesem Lande sterben und werde nicht über den Jordan gehen. Ihr aber werdet hinübergehen und dies gute Land einnehmen. 

23 So hütet euch nun, dass ihr den Bund des HERRN, eures Gottes, nicht vergesst, den er mit euch geschlossen hat, und nicht ein Bildnis macht von irgendeiner Gestalt, wie es der HERR, dein Gott, geboten hat. 

24 Denn der HERR, dein Gott, ist ein verzehrendes Feuer und ein eifernder Gott. (2Mo 20,5; 2Mo 24,17; 5Mo 9,3; Jes 10,17; Hebr 12,29) 

25 Wenn du nun Kinder zeugst und Kindeskinder und ihr im Lande wohnt und versündigt euch und macht euch Bildnisse von irgendeiner Gestalt, sodass ihr übel tut vor dem HERRN, deinem Gott, und ihn erzürnt, 

26 so rufe ich heute Himmel und Erde zu Zeugen über euch, dass ihr bald weggerafft werdet aus dem Lande, in das ihr geht über den Jordan, um es einzunehmen. Ihr werdet nicht lange darin bleiben, sondern werdet vertilgt werden. (5Mo 30,19; 5Mo 31,28; 5Mo 32,1) 

27 Und der HERR wird euch zerstreuen unter die Völker, und es wird von euch nur eine geringe Zahl übrig bleiben unter den Heiden, zu denen euch der HERR wegführen wird. 

28 Dort werdet ihr Göttern dienen, die das Werk von Menschenhänden sind, Holz und Stein, die weder sehen noch hören noch essen noch riechen können. (5Mo 28,36; Ps 115,4) 

29 Ihr werdet dort den HERRN, deinen Gott, suchen, und du wirst ihn finden, so du ihn von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele suchen wirst. (Ps 27,8; Jer 29,13) 

30 Wenn du geängstet sein wirst und dich das alles treffen wird in künftigen Zeiten, so wirst du dich bekehren zu dem HERRN, deinem Gott, und seiner Stimme gehorchen. (5Mo 30,2) 

31 Denn der HERR, dein Gott, ist ein barmherziger Gott; er wird dich nicht verlassen noch verderben, wird auch den Bund nicht vergessen, den er deinen Vätern geschworen hat. 

32 Denn frage nach den früheren Zeiten, die vor dir gewesen sind, von dem Tage an, da Gott den Menschen auf Erden geschaffen hat, und von einem Ende des Himmels zum andern, ob je so Großes geschehen oder desgleichen je gehört sei, 

33 dass ein Volk die Stimme Gottes aus dem Feuer hat reden hören, wie du sie gehört hast, und dennoch am Leben blieb? (2Mo 20,1; 2Mo 20,19) 

34 Oder ob je ein Gott versucht hat, hinzugehen und sich ein Volk mitten aus einem Volk herauszuholen durch Machtproben, durch Zeichen, durch Wunder, durch Krieg und mit starker Hand und ausgerecktem Arm und durch große Schrecken, wie das alles der HERR, euer Gott, für euch getan hat in Ägypten vor deinen Augen? (5Mo 7,19; 5Mo 29,2) 

35 Du hast es sehen können, auf dass du wissest, dass der HERR allein Gott ist und sonst keiner. (5Mo 32,39) 

36 Vom Himmel hat er dich seine Stimme hören lassen, um dich zurechtzubringen; und auf Erden hat er dir gezeigt sein großes Feuer, und seine Worte hast du aus dem Feuer gehört. (2Mo 20,1; 2Mo 20,18; 2Mo 20,20) 

37 Weil er deine Väter geliebt und ihre Nachkommen erwählt hat, hat er dich aus Ägypten herausgeführt mit seinem Angesicht durch seine große Kraft, (2Mo 33,14) 

38 damit er vor dir her Völker vertriebe, die größer und stärker sind als du, und dich hineinbrächte, um dir ihr Land zum Erbteil zu geben, wie es jetzt ist. 

39 So sollst du nun heute wissen und zu Herzen nehmen, dass der HERR Gott ist oben im Himmel und unten auf Erden und sonst keiner, 

40 und sollst halten seine Rechte und Gebote, die ich dir heute gebiete; so wird’s dir und deinen Kindern nach dir wohlgehen und dein Leben lange währen in dem Lande, das dir der HERR, dein Gott, gibt für immer. 

Freistädte im Ostjordanland

41 Da sonderte Mose drei Städte aus jenseits des Jordans gegen Sonnenaufgang, (4Mo 35,6; 5Mo 19,2) 

42 damit dorthin fliehen konnte, wer seinen Nächsten totschlägt ohne Vorsatz und ihm zuvor nicht feind gewesen ist; der soll in eine dieser Städte fliehen, damit er am Leben bleibe. 

43 Das sind Bezer im Wüstengebiet der Hochebene für die Rubeniter und Ramot in Gilead für die Gaditer und Golan in Baschan für die Manassiter. 

Überleitung zum Gesetz

44 Dies ist das Gesetz, das Mose den Israeliten vorlegte. 

45 Dies sind die Ermahnungen und Gebote und Rechte, die Mose den Israeliten kundtat, als sie aus Ägypten gezogen waren, 

46 jenseits des Jordans im Tal gegenüber Bet-Peor, im Lande Sihons, des Königs der Amoriter, der zu Heschbon herrschte, den Mose und die Israeliten schlugen, als sie aus Ägypten zogen. (4Mo 21,24) 

47 Und sie nahmen sein Land ein, dazu das Land Ogs, des Königs von Baschan, der beiden Könige der Amoriter, die jenseits des Jordans waren gegen Sonnenaufgang, 

48 von Aroër an, das am Ufer des Arnon liegt, bis an den Berg Sion, das ist der Hermon, (5Mo 3,8) 

49 und das ganze Jordantal östlich des Jordans gegen Sonnenaufgang bis an das Meer der Araba am Fuße der Abhänge des Pisga.

الأمر بطاعة الرب

1 وَالآنَ أَصْغُوا يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِلَى الشَّرَائِعِ وَالأَحْكَامِ الَّتِي أُعَلِّمُهَا لَكُمْ لِتَعْمَلُوا بِها، فَتَحْيَوْا وَتَدْخُلُوا لاِمْتِلاكِ الأَرْضِ الَّتِي يُوَرِّثُهَا لَكُمُ الرَّبُّ إِلَهُكُمْ 

2 لَا تُضِيفُوا عَلَى مَا أُوصِيكُمْ بِهِ وَلا تُنَقِّصُوا مِنْهُ، بَلْ أَطِيعُوا أَوَامِرَ الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمُ الَّتِي أُوْصِيكُمْ بِها. 

3 لَقَدْ شَهِدَتْ أَعْيُنُكُمْ مَا أَنْزَلَ الرَّبُّ بِبَعْلِ فَغُورَ، إِذْ أَبَادَ الرَّبُّ إِلَهُكُمْ مِنْ بَيْنِكُمْ كُلَّ مَنْ غَوَى وَرَاءَ بَعْلِ فَغُورَ. 

4 وَأَمَّا أَنْتُمُ الَّذِينَ تَعَلَّقْتُمْ بِالرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ فَجَمِيعُكُمْ أَحْيَاءُ الْيَوْمَ. 

5 انْظُرُوا، هَا أَنَا قَدْ عَلَّمْتُكُمْ شَرَائِعَ وَأَحْكَاماً كَمَا أَمَرَنِي الرَّبُّ إِلَهِي لِتَعْمَلُوا بِمُوْجِبِهَا فِي الأَرْضِ الَّتِي أَنْتُمْ مَاضُونَ إِلَيْهَا لِتَرِثُوهَا. 

6 فَاحْفَظُوهَا وَطَبِّقُوهَا، لأَنَّهَا هِيَ حِكْمَتُكُمْ وَفِطْنَتُكُمْ لَدَى الشُّعُوبِ الَّذِينَ يَسْمَعُونَ عَنْ هَذِهِ الشَّرَائِعِ، فَيَقُولُوا: إِنَّ هَذَا الشَّعْبَ الْعَظِيمَ هُوَ حَقّاً شَعْبٌ حَكِيمٌ فَطِنٌ. 

7 لأَنَّهُ أَيُّ شَعْبٍ، مَهْمَا عَظُمَ، لَهُ آلِهَةٌ قَرِيبَةٌ مِنْهُ مِثْلُ الرَّبِّ إِلَهِنَا فِي كُلِّ مَا نَدْعُوهُ؟ 

8 وَأَيُّ شَعْبٍ، مَهْمَا عَظُمَ، لَدَيْهِ شَرَائِعُ وَأَحْكَامٌ عَادِلَةٌ نَظِيرُ هَذِهِ الشَّرَائِعِ الَّتِي أَضَعُهَا الْيَوْمَ أَمَامَكُمْ؟ 

9 إِنَّمَا احْتَرِزُوا وَاحْذَرُوا لِئَلّا تَنْسَوْا الأُمُورَ الَّتِي شَهِدَتْهَا أَعْيُنُكُمْ فَلا تَنْمَحِي مِنْ قُلُوبِكُمْ كُلَّ أَيَّامِ حَيَاتِكُمْ. وَعَلِّمُوهَا لأَوْلادِكُمْ وَلأَحْفَادِكُمْ. 

10 فَفِي الْيَوْمِ الَّذِي مَثَلْتُمْ فِيهِ أَمَامَ الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ فِي جَبَلِ حُورِيبَ، حِينَ قَالَ لِي الرَّبُّ: اجْمَعْ لِيَ الشَّعْبَ حَتَّى أُسْمِعَهُمْ كَلامِي، فَيَتَعَلَّمُوا مَخَافَتِي طَوَالَ أَيَّامِ حَيَاتِهِمْ عَلَى الأَرْضِ، وَيُعَلِّمُوا أَوْلادَهُمْ أَيْضاً. 

11 فَتَقَدَّمْتُمْ وَوَقَفْتُمْ عِنْدَ سَفْحِ الْجَبَلِ الْمُشْتَعِلِ بِنَارٍ امْتَدَّتْ أَلْسِنَةُ لَهَبِهَا إِلَى كَبِدِ السَّمَاءِ، وَتَلَفَّعَتْ بِسُحُبٍ دَاكِنَةٍ وَضَبَابٍ. 

12 فَخَاطَبَكُمُ الرَّبُّ مِنْ وَسَطِ النَّارِ، فَسَمِعْتُمْ صَوْتَ كَلِمَاتِهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ تُبْصِرُوا لَهُ صُورَةً. 

13 وَأَعْلَنَ لَكُمْ عَهْدَهُ، الْوَصَايَا الْعَشَرَ الَّتِي نَقَشَهَا عَلَى لَوْحَيْ حَجَرٍ، وَأَمَرَكُمْ أَنْ تَعْمَلُوا بِها. 

14 كَمَا أَمَرَنِي فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ أَنْ أُعَلِّمَكُمْ شَرَائِعَهُ وَأَحْكَامَهُ لِتُطَبِّقُوهَا فِي الأَرْضِ الَّتِي أَنْتُمْ مَاضُونَ إِلَيْهَا لِتَرِثُوهَا. 

حظر صنع التماثيل وعبادتها

15 فَاحْذَرُوا لأَنْفُسِكُمْ جِدّاً، فَأَنْتُمْ لَمْ تَرَوْا صُورَةً مَا حِينَ خَاطَبَكُمُ الرَّبُّ فِي جَبَلِ حُورِيبَ مِنْ وَسَطِ النَّارِ. 

16 لِئَلّا تَفْسَدُوا فَتَنْحَتُوا لَكُمْ تِمْثَالاً لِصُورَةٍ مَا لِمِثَالِ رَجُلٍ أَوِ امْرَأَةٍ. 

17 أَوْ شِبْهَ بَهِيمَةٍ مَا مِمَّا عَلَى الأَرْضِ، أَوْ شِبْهَ طَيْرٍ مَا مِنْ طُيُورِ السَّمَاءِ. 

18 أَوْ شِبْهَ كَائِنٍ مَا مِنْ زَوَاحِفِ الأَرْضِ، أَوْ شِبْهَ سَمَكٍ مَا مِمَّا فِي الْمَاءِ تَحْتَ الأَرْضِ. 

19 أَوْ لِئَلّا تَتَطَلَّعُوا إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَتُشَاهِدُوا الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ وَالنُّجُومَ وَالأَجْرَامَ السَّمَاوِيَّةَ الَّتِي وَزَّعَهَا الرَّبُّ إِلَهُكُمْ عَلَى جَمِيعِ الأُمَمِ الَّتِي تَحْتَ السَّمَاءِ، فَتَغْوُوا وَتَسْجُدُوا لَهَا وَتَعْبُدُوهَا. 

20 أَمَّا أَنْتُمْ فَقَدِ اخْتَارَكُمُ الرَّبُّ وَأَخْرَجَكُمْ مِنْ أَتُونِ الْحَدِيدِ مِنْ دِيَارِ مِصْرَ لِتَكُونُوا لَهُ شَعْبَ مِيرَاثِهِ، كَمَا أَنْتُمُ الْيَوْمَ. 

غضب الرب على موسى

21 وَلَكِنَّ الرَّبَّ غَضِبَ عَلَيَّ مِنْ أَجْلِكُمْ وَأَقْسَمَ أَلّا أَعْبُرَ نَهْرَ الأُرْدُنِّ وَلا أَطَأَ الأَرْضَ الْخَصِيبَةَ الَّتِي وَهَبَكُمْ إِيَّاهَا الرَّبُّ إِلَهُكُمْ نَصِيباً. 

22 كَذَلِكَ فَأَنَا أَمُوتُ فِي هَذِهِ الأَرْضِ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ أَجْتَازَ نَهْرَ الأُرْدُنِّ. وَأَمَّا أَنْتُمْ فَتَعْبُرُونَهُ وَتَرِثُونَ تِلْكَ الأَرْضَ الْخَصِيبَةَ. 

23 وَلَكِنْ إِيَّاكُمْ أَنْ تَنْسَوْا عَهْدَ الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمُ الَّذِي قَطَعَهُ مَعَكُمْ وَتَنْحَتُوا لأَنْفُسِكُمْ تِمْثَالاً لِصُورَةٍ مَا مِمَّا نَهَاكُمُ الرَّبُّ إِلَهُكُمْ عَنْهُ. 

24 لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ إِلَهَكُمْ هُوَ نَارٌ آكِلَةٌ وَإِلَهٌ غَيُورٌ. 

عقوبة عبادة الأصنام

25 وَإذَا أَنْجَبْتُمْ بَنِينَ وَأَحْفَاداً وَمَكَثْتُمْ طَوِيلاً فِي الأَرْضِ، ثُمَّ غَوَيْتُمْ فَنَحَتُّمْ لَكُمْ تِمْثَالاً لِصُورَةِ شَيْءٍ مَا، وَارْتَكَبْتُمُ الشَّرَّ فِي عَيْنَيِ الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ لإِثَارَةِ غَيْظِهِ، 

26 فَإِنَّنِي أُشْهِدُ عَلَيْكُمُ الْيَوْمَ السَّمَاءَ وَالأَرْضَ، أَنَّكُمْ تَنْقَرِضُونَ سَرِيعاً مِنَ الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي أَنْتُمْ عَابِرُونَ نَهْرَ الأُرْدُنِّ إِلَيْهَا لِتَرِثُوهَا، وَلَنْ تَطُولَ بِكُمُ الأَيَّامُ عَلَيْهَا، إِذْ لابُدَّ أَنَّكُمْ حِينَئِذٍ هَالِكُونَ. 

27 وَيُشَتِّتُكُمُ الرَّبُّ بَيْنَ الأُمَمِ فَتُصْبِحُونَ أَقَلِّيَّةً بَيْنَ الشُّعُوبِ الَّتِي يَسُوقُكُمْ إِلَيْهَا. 

28 وَهُنَاكَ تَعْبُدُونَ آلِهَةً مِنْ خَشَبٍ وَحَجَرٍ مِنْ صَنْعَةِ أَيْدِي النَّاسِ، مِمَّا لَا يُبْصِرُ وَلا يَسْمَعُ وَلا يَأْكُلُ وَلا يَشُمُّ. 

29 وَلَكِنْ إِنْ طَلَبْتُمْ مِنْ هُنَاكَ الرَّبَّ إِلَهَكُمْ، مُلْتَمِسِينَهُ مِنْ كُلِّ قُلُوبِكُمْ وَنُفُوسِكُمْ، فَإِنَّكُمْ تَجِدُونَهُ. 

30 فَعِنْدَمَا يَكْتَنِفُكُمُ الضِّيقُ وَتُصِيبُكُمْ فِي آخِرِ الأَيَّامِ جَمِيعُ هَذِهِ الأُمُورِ، عِنْدَئِذٍ تَرْجِعُونَ إِلَى الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ وَتُطِيعُونَ أَوَامِرَهُ. 

31 لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ إِلَهَكُمْ إِلَهٌ رَحِيمٌ لَا يَنْبِذُكُمْ وَلا يُفْنِيكُمْ، وَلا يَنْسَى عَهْدَ آبَائِكُمُ الَّذِي أَقْسَمَ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهِ. 

الرب هو الله

32 فَاسْأَلُوا عَنِ الأَيَّامِ الْغَابِرَةِ الَّتِي انْقَضَتْ قَبْلَكُمْ، مُنْذُ الْيَوْمِ الَّذِي خَلَقَ اللهُ فِيهِ الإِنْسَانَ عَلَى الأَرْضِ. اسْأَلْ مِنْ أَقْصَى السَّمَاوَاتِ إِلَى أَقْصَاهَا: هَلْ حَدَثَ قَطُّ مِثْلُ هَذَا الأَمْرِ الْعَظِيمِ؟ وَهَلْ سَمِعَ أَحَدٌ بِمِثْلِهِ؟ 

33 هَلْ سَمِعَتْ أُمَّةٌ صَوْتَ اللهِ يَتَكَلَّمُ مِنْ وَسَطِ النَّارِ كَمَا سَمِعْتُمْ أَنْتُمْ، وَعَاشَتْ؟ 

34 وَهَلْ حَاوَلَ إِلَهٌ قَطُّ أَنْ يَأْخُذَ لِنَفْسِهِ شَعْباً مِنْ وَسَطِ شَعْبٍ آخَرَ مُجْرِياً تَجَارِبَ وَآيَاتٍ وَمُعْجِزَاتٍ وَحُرُوباً وَقُدْرَةً فَائِقَةً وَقُوَّةً شَدِيدَةً وَمَخَاوِفَ عَظِيمَةً كَمَا صَنَعَ مَعَكُمُ الرَّبُّ إِلَهُكُمْ فِي مِصْرَ عَلَى مَرْأَى مِنْكُمْ؟ 

35 لَقَدِ اطَّلَعْتُمْ عَلَى هَذِهِ كُلِّهَا لِتَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ الرَّبَّ هُوَ الإِلَهُ، وَلَيْسَ آخَرَ سِوَاهُ. 

36 فَقَدْ أَسْمَعَكُمْ صَوْتَهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ لِيُنْذِرَكُمْ. وَأَرَاكُمْ نَارَهُ الْعَظِيمَةَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ، وَسَمِعْتُمْ صَوْتَهُ مِنْ وَسَطِ النَّارِ. 

37 وَلأَنَّهُ قَدْ أَحَبَّ آبَاءَكُمْ، وَاخْتَارَ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ، أَخْرَجَكُمْ بِنَفْسِهِ وَبِقُدْرَتِهِ الْعَظِيمَةِ مِنْ دِيَارِ مِصْرَ، 

38 وَطَرَدَ مِنْ أَمَامِكُمْ أُمَماً أَكْبَرَ مِنْكُمْ وَأَعْظَمَ، لِيَأْتِيَ بِكُمْ إِلَى أَرْضِهِمْ وَيُوَرِّثَكُمْ إِيَّاهَا، كَمَا حَدَثَ فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ. 

39 فَاعْتَرِفُوا الْيَوْمَ وَرَدِّدُوا فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ قَائِلِينَ: إِنَّ الرَّبَّ هُوَ الإِلَهُ فِي السَّمَاءِ مِنْ فَوْقُ، وَعَلَى الأَرْضِ مِنْ تَحْتُ وَلَيْسَ إِلَهٌ سِوَاهُ. 

40 فَاحْفَظُوا الْيَوْمَ مَا أُوْصِيكُمْ بِهِ مِنْ شَرَائِعِهِ وَأَحْكَامِهِ لِيُحْسِنَ الرَّبُّ إِلَيْكُمْ وَإِلَى أَوْلادِكُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِكُمْ، فَيُطِيلَ أَيَّامَكُمْ عَلَى الأَرْضِ الَّتِي وَهَبَكُمْ إِيَّاهَا إِلَى الأَبَدِ.

41 ثُمَّ خَصَّصَ مُوسَى ثَلاثَ مُدُنٍ شَرْقِيَّ نَهْرِ الأُرْدُنِّ، 

42 لِيَلْجَأَ إِلَيْهَا الْقَاتِلُ غَيْرُ الْمُتَعَمِّدِ، الَّذِي لَا يَضْمِرُ عَدَاءً سَابِقاً لِلْقَتِيلِ، فَيَجِدُ فِي إِحْدَى تِلْكَ الْمُدُنِ مَلْجَأً وَيَحْيَا. 

43 أَمَّا هَذِهِ الْمُدُنُ فَكانَتْ: بَاصَرَ فِي الصَّحْرَاءِ فِي أَرْضِ السَّهْلِ فِي دِيَارِ الرَّأُوبَيْنِيِّينَ وَرَامُوتَ فِي جِلْعَادَ فِي بِلادِ الْجَادِيِّينَ، وَجُولانَ فِي بَاشَانَ فِي مِنْطَقَةِ الْمَنَسِّيِّينَ.

44 وَهَذِهِ هِيَ الشَّرِيعَةُ الَّتِي وَضَعَهَا أَمَامَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، 

45 وَهَذِهِ هِيَ الشُّرُوطُ وَالْفَرَائِضُ وَالأَحْكَامُ الَّتِي خَاطَبَ بِها مُوسَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ عِنْدَ خُرُوجِهِمْ مِنْ مِصْرَ، 

46 وَهُمْ مُخَيِّمُونَ شَرْقِيَّ نَهْرِ الأُرْدُنِّ، فِي الْوَادِي بِجِوَارِ بَيْتِ فَغُورَ فِي أَرْضِ سِيحُونَ مَلِكِ الأَمُورِيِّينَ الَّذِي كَانَ مُقِيماً فِي حَشْبُونَ، فَقَضَى عَلَيْهِ مُوسَى وَالإِسْرَائِيلِيُّونَ عِنْدَ خُرُوجِهِمْ مِنْ أَرْضِ مِصْرَ. 

47 فَامْتَلَكُوا بِلادَهُ وَبِلادَ عُوجٍ مَلِكِ بَاشَانَ، مَلِكَيِ الأَمُورِيِّينَ اللَّذَيْنِ كَانَا مُقِيمَيْنِ شَرْقِيَّ نَهْرِ الأُرْدُنِّ، 

48 مِنْ عَرُوعِيرَ الْوَاقِعَةِ عَلَى حَافَةِ وَادِي أَرْنُونَ، إِلَى جَبَلِ سِيئُونَ الَّذِي هُوَ حَرْمُونُ، 

49 وَكُلَّ وَادِي الْعَرَبَةِ شَرْقِيَّ نَهْرِ الأُرْدُنِّ، حَتَّى الْبَحْرِ الْمَيِّتِ عِنْدَ سُفُوحِ الْفِسْجَةِ.

New International Version

Obedience commanded

1 Now, Israel, hear the decrees and laws I am about to teach you. Follow them so that you may live and may go in and take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, is giving you. 

2 Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you. 

3 You saw with your own eyes what the Lord did at Baal Peor. The Lord your God destroyed from among you everyone who followed the Baal of Peor, 

4 but all of you who held fast to the Lord your God are still alive today. 

5 See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the Lord my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it. 

6 Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’ 

7 What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the Lord our God is near us whenever we pray to him? 

8 And what other nation is so great as to have such righteous decrees and laws as this body of laws I am setting before you today? 

9 Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them. 

10 Remember the day you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, when he said to me, ‘Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children.’ 

11 You came near and stood at the foot of the mountain while it blazed with fire to the very heavens, with black clouds and deep darkness. 

12 Then the Lord spoke to you out of the fire. You heard the sound of words but saw no form; there was only a voice. 

13 He declared to you his covenant, the Ten Commandments, which he commanded you to follow and then wrote them on two stone tablets. 

14 And the Lord directed me at that time to teach you the decrees and laws you are to follow in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess. 

Idolatry forbidden

15 You saw no form of any kind the day the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire. Therefore watch yourselves very carefully, 

16 so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman, 

17 or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air, 

18 or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below. 

19 And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars – all the heavenly array – do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshipping things the Lord your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven. 

20 But as for you, the Lord took you and brought you out of the iron-smelting furnace, out of Egypt, to be the people of his inheritance, as you now are. 

21 The Lord was angry with me because of you, and he solemnly swore that I would not cross the Jordan and enter the good land the Lord your God is giving you as your inheritance. 

22 I will die in this land; I will not cross the Jordan; but you are about to cross over and take possession of that good land. 

23 Be careful not to forget the covenant of the Lord your God that he made with you; do not make for yourselves an idol in the form of anything the Lord your God has forbidden. 

24 For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. 

25 After you have had children and grandchildren and have lived in the land a long time – if you then become corrupt and make any kind of idol, doing evil in the eyes of the Lord your God and arousing his anger, 

26 I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you this day that you will quickly perish from the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess. You will not live there long but will certainly be destroyed. 

27 The Lord will scatter you among the peoples, and only a few of you will survive among the nations to which the Lord will drive you. 

28 There you will worship man-made gods of wood and stone, which cannot see or hear or eat or smell. 

29 But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. 

30 When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the Lord your God and obey him. 

31 For the Lord your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your ancestors, which he confirmed to them by oath. 

The Lord is God

32 Ask now about the former days, long before your time, from the day God created human beings on the earth; ask from one end of the heavens to the other. Has anything so great as this ever happened, or has anything like it ever been heard of? 

33 Has any other people heard the voice of God speaking out of fire, as you have, and lived? 

34 Has any god ever tried to take for himself one nation out of another nation, by testings, by signs and wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, or by great and awesome deeds, like all the things the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes? 

35 You were shown these things so that you might know that the Lord is God; besides him there is no other. 

36 From heaven he made you hear his voice to discipline you. On earth he showed you his great fire, and you heard his words from out of the fire. 

37 Because he loved your ancestors and chose their descendants after them, he brought you out of Egypt by his Presence and his great strength, 

38 to drive out before you nations greater and stronger than you and to bring you into their land to give it to you for your inheritance, as it is today. 

39 Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other. 

40 Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the Lord your God gives you for all time. 

Cities of refuge

41 Then Moses set aside three cities east of the Jordan, 

42 to which anyone who had killed a person could flee if they had unintentionally killed a neighbour without malice aforethought. They could flee into one of these cities and save their life. 

43 The cities were these: Bezer in the wilderness plateau, for the Reubenites; Ramoth in Gilead, for the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan, for the Manassites. 

Introduction to the law

44 This is the law Moses set before the Israelites. 

45 These are the stipulations, decrees and laws Moses gave them when they came out of Egypt 

46 and were in the valley near Beth Peor east of the Jordan, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon and was defeated by Moses and the Israelites as they came out of Egypt. 

47 They took possession of his land and the land of Og king of Bashan, the two Amorite kings east of the Jordan. 

48 This land extended from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge to Mount Sirion (that is, Hermon), 

49 and included all the Arabah east of the Jordan, as far as the Dead Sea, below the slopes of Pisgah.

Запрет идолопоклонства

15 Итак, твёрдо помните, что вы не видели никакого образа в тот день, когда Вечный говорил с вами у горы Синай из огня, 

16 чтобы не развратиться и не сделать себе идола – образ в какой-либо форме, изображающий мужчину или женщину, 

17 или какое-либо животное на земле, какую-нибудь птицу, летающую под небесами, 

18 какое-нибудь пресмыкающееся по земле, или рыбу в водах. 

19 А когда вы посмотрите на небо и увидите солнце, луну и звёзды – всё небесное многообразие, то не соблазняйтесь: не поклоняйтесь и не служите тому, что Вечный, ваш Бог, уделил всем народам под небом. 

20 Но что до вас – Вечный взял вас и вынес из плавильной печи, из Египта, чтобы вы были народом Его наследия, как сейчас. 

21 Вечный разгневался на меня из-за вас и поклялся, что я не перейду через Иордан и не войду в благодатную землю, которую Вечный, ваш Бог, даёт вам в наследие. 

22 Я умру в этой земле; я не перейду через Иордан, но вы перейдёте и завладеете благодатной землёй.

27 Вечный рассеет вас между народами, и лишь немногие выживут среди народов, к которым Вечный прогонит вас. 

28 Там вы будете служить богам, сделанным человеком из дерева и камня, которые не могут ни видеть, ни слышать, ни есть, ни чуять запах. 

29 Но там-то вы и начнёте искать Вечного, вашего Бога, и найдёте Его, если будете искать всем сердцем и всей душой. 

30 Когда вас постигнет скорбь и всё это случится с вами, вы вернётесь к Вечному, вашему Богу, и будете слушаться Его. 

31 Ведь Вечный, ваш Бог, – это милостивый Бог; Он не оставит и не погубит вас и не забудет священное соглашение с вашими предками, которое Он скрепил клятвой. 

Вечный – единственный Бог

32 Спросите о прежних днях, которые были задолго до вас, с того дня, когда Всевышний сотворил на земле человека; спросите от края до края небес. Случалось ли что-нибудь подобное этому великому делу, и разве слышали когда-нибудь о чём-то подобном? 

33 Разве слышал какой-нибудь другой народ голос Бога, говорящего из огня, как слышали вы, и остался жив? 

34 Разве когда-нибудь пробовал какой-нибудь бог взять себе народ из другого народа – испытаниями, знамениями и чудесами, войной, могучей и простёртой рукой, великими и ужасными подвигами, как сделал это для вас Вечный, ваш Бог, в Египте у вас на глазах? 

35 Вам было явлено это, чтобы вы знали, что Вечный – это Бог, и нет другого Бога, кроме Него. 

36 Он дал вам услышать Свой голос с неба, чтобы наставить вас. На земле Он показал вам Свой великий огонь, и вы слышали Его слова из огня. 

37 Он полюбил ваших предков и избрал их потомков, Он Сам вывел вас из Египта Своей великой силой, 

38 чтобы прогнать от вас народы, которые многочисленнее и сильнее, и привести вас в их землю, отдав её вам в наследие, как это и есть сегодня. 

39 Знайте ныне и запомните навсегда, что Вечный – это Бог на небе вверху и на земле внизу, и нет другого.

Города-убежища

41 Затем Муса отделил к востоку от Иордана три города, (4Mo 35,6; 5Mo 19,1; Jos 20,1) 

42 куда мог убежать всякий, кто убьёт человека неумышленно, не питая к убитому ненависти. Он мог убежать в один из этих городов и тем спасти свою жизнь. 

43 Вот эти города: Бецер на пустынном плато для рувимитов; Рамот в Галааде для гадитов; Голан в Башане для манасситов. 

Вступление к Закону

44 Вот Закон, который Муса изложил исраильтянам. 

45 Вот заповеди, установления и законы, которые Муса дал им, когда они вышли из Египта 

46 и находились в долине рядом с Бет-Пеором к востоку от Иордана, в земле Сигона, царя аморреев, который правил в Хешбоне и был побеждён Мусой и исраильтянами, когда они вышли из Египта. 

47 Они завладели его землёй и землёй Ога, царя Башана, двух аморрейских царей, к востоку от Иордана.
