1 Ein Psalm und Lied Asafs, vorzusingen, nach der Weise »Vertilge nicht«. 2 Wir danken dir, Gott, wir danken dir und verkündigen deine Wunder, dass dein Name so nahe ist. (Jes 46,13) 3 »Wenn meine Zeit gekommen ist, werde ich recht richten. 4 Die Erde mag wanken und alle, die darauf wohnen, aber ich halte ihre Säulen fest.« Sela. 5 Ich sprach zu den Ruhmredigen: Rühmt euch nicht so!, und zu den Frevlern: Brüstet euch nicht mit Macht! 6 Brüstet euch nicht so hoch mit eurer Macht, redet nicht so halsstarrig! 7 Denn es kommt nicht vom Aufgang und nicht vom Niedergang, nicht von der Wüste und nicht von den Bergen, 8 sondern Gott ist Richter, der diesen erniedrigt und jenen erhöht. (1Sam 2,7) 9 Denn der HERR hat einen Becher in der Hand, mit starkem Wein voll eingeschenkt. Er schenkt daraus ein, / und die Frevler auf Erden müssen alle trinken und auch noch die Hefe schlürfen. (Ps 60,5; Jer 25,15) 10 Ich aber will verkündigen ewiglich und lobsingen dem Gott Jakobs. 11 Und ich will alle Gewalt der Frevler zerbrechen, dass die Gewalt des Gerechten erhöht werde.

King James Version

1 To the chief Musician, Altaschith, A Psalm or Song of Asaph. Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare. 2 When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly. 3 The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah. 4 I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn: 5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. 6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. 7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. 8 For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them . 9 But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob. 10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
