1 Und er fing abermals an, am Meer zu lehren. Und es versammelte sich eine so große Menge bei ihm, dass er in ein Boot stieg, das im Wasser lag, und er setzte sich; und alles Volk stand auf dem Lande am Meer. (Mt 13,1; Lk 8,4) 2 Und er lehrte sie vieles in Gleichnissen; und in seiner Predigt sprach er zu ihnen: (Mk 1,22)

Das Gleichnis vom Sämann

3 Hört zu! Siehe, es ging ein Sämann aus zu säen. (Mt 13,3; Lk 8,5) 4 Und es begab sich, indem er säte, fiel etliches an den Weg; da kamen die Vögel und fraßen’s auf. 5 Anderes fiel auf felsigen Boden, wo es nicht viel Erde hatte, und ging bald auf, weil es keine tiefe Erde hatte. 6 Da nun die Sonne aufging, verwelkte es, und weil es keine Wurzel hatte, verdorrte es. 7 Und anderes fiel unter die Dornen, und die Dornen wuchsen empor und erstickten’s, und es brachte keine Frucht. 8 Und all das Übrige fiel auf das gute Land, ging auf und wuchs und brachte Frucht, und einiges trug dreißigfach und einiges sechzigfach und einiges hundertfach. 9 Und er sprach: Wer Ohren hat zu hören, der höre! (Offb 2,7)

Vom Sinn der Gleichnisse

10 Und als er allein war, fragten ihn, die um ihn waren, samt den Zwölfen nach den Gleichnissen. (Mt 13,10; Lk 8,9) 11 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Euch ist das Geheimnis des Reiches Gottes gegeben; denen draußen aber widerfährt es alles in Gleichnissen, 12 auf dass sie mit sehenden Augen sehen und doch nicht erkennen und mit hörenden Ohren hören und doch nicht verstehen, damit sie sich nicht etwa bekehren und ihnen vergeben werde. (Jes 6,10; Mk 8,18)

Die Deutung des Gleichnisses

13 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Versteht ihr dies Gleichnis nicht, wie wollt ihr dann die andern alle verstehen? (Mt 13,18; Lk 8,11) 14 Der Sämann sät das Wort. 15 Diese aber sind es, die an dem Wege sind: Wo das Wort gesät wird und sie es gehört haben, kommt alsbald der Satan und nimmt das Wort weg, das in sie gesät war. 16 Und diese sind es, die auf felsigen Boden gesät sind: Wenn sie das Wort gehört haben, nehmen sie es sogleich mit Freuden auf, 17 aber sie haben keine Wurzel in sich, sondern sind wetterwendisch; wenn sich Bedrängnis oder Verfolgung um des Wortes willen erhebt, so kommen sie alsbald zu Fall. (Mk 13,9; Mk 13,19) 18 Und andere sind es, die unter die Dornen gesät sind: Die haben das Wort gehört, 19 und die Sorgen der Welt und der trügerische Reichtum und die Begierden nach allem andern dringen ein und ersticken das Wort, und es bleibt ohne Frucht. 20 Und jene sind es, die auf das gute Land gesät sind: Die hören das Wort und nehmen’s an und bringen Frucht, einige dreißigfach und einige sechzigfach und einige hundertfach.

Vom Licht und vom rechten Maß

21 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Zündet man denn ein Licht an, um es unter den Scheffel oder unter die Bank zu setzen? Und nicht, um es auf den Leuchter zu setzen? (Mt 5,15; Lk 8,16) 22 Denn es ist nichts verborgen, das nicht offenbar werden soll, und ist nichts geheim, das nicht an den Tag kommen soll. (Mt 10,26; Lk 12,2) 23 Wer Ohren hat zu hören, der höre! (Mk 9,1) 24 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Seht zu, was ihr hört! Mit welchem Maß ihr messt, wird man euch zumessen, und man wird euch noch dazugeben. (Mt 7,2; Lk 6,38) 25 Denn wer da hat, dem wird gegeben; und wer nicht hat, dem wird man auch das nehmen, was er hat. (Mt 13,12)

Das Gleichnis vom Wachsen der Saat

26 Und er sprach: Mit dem Reich Gottes ist es so, wie wenn ein Mensch Samen aufs Land wirft 27 und schläft und steht auf, Nacht und Tag; und der Same geht auf und wächst – er weiß nicht wie. (Jak 5,7) 28 Von selbst bringt die Erde Frucht, zuerst den Halm, danach die Ähre, danach den vollen Weizen in der Ähre. 29 Wenn aber die Frucht reif ist, so schickt er alsbald die Sichel hin; denn die Ernte ist da.

Das Gleichnis vom Senfkorn

30 Und er sprach: Womit wollen wir das Reich Gottes vergleichen, und durch welches Gleichnis wollen wir es abbilden? (Mt 13,31; Lk 13,18) 31 Es ist wie mit einem Senfkorn: Wenn das gesät wird aufs Land, so ist’s das kleinste unter allen Samenkörnern auf Erden; 32 und wenn es gesät ist, so geht es auf und wird größer als alle Kräuter und treibt große Zweige, sodass die Vögel unter dem Himmel unter seinem Schatten wohnen können. (Hes 17,23) 33 Und durch viele solche Gleichnisse sagte er ihnen das Wort so, wie sie es hören konnten. (Mt 13,34) 34 Und ohne Gleichnisse redete er nicht zu ihnen; aber wenn sie allein waren, legte er seinen Jüngern alles aus.

Die Stillung des Sturmes

35 Und am Abend desselben Tages sprach er zu ihnen: Lasst uns ans andre Ufer fahren. (Mt 8,23; Lk 8,22) 36 Und sie ließen das Volk gehen und nahmen ihn mit, wie er im Boot war, und es waren noch andere Boote bei ihm. 37 Und es erhob sich ein großer Windwirbel, und die Wellen schlugen in das Boot, sodass das Boot schon voll wurde. (Jon 1,4) 38 Und er war hinten im Boot und schlief auf einem Kissen. Und sie weckten ihn auf und sprachen zu ihm: Meister, fragst du nichts danach, dass wir umkommen? 39 Und er stand auf und bedrohte den Wind und sprach zu dem Meer: Schweig! Verstumme! Und der Wind legte sich und es ward eine große Stille. (Ps 107,28) 40 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Was seid ihr so furchtsam? Habt ihr noch keinen Glauben? 41 Und sie fürchteten sich sehr und sprachen untereinander: Wer ist der, dass ihm Wind und Meer gehorsam sind! (Mk 1,27)

1 And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land. 2 And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine, 3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: 4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. 5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: 6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. 8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. 9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. 11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: 12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. 13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables? 14 The sower soweth the word. 15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. 18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. 20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred. 21 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? 22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. 23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. 24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. 25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath. 26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; 27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. 28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. 29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come. 30 And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? 31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: 32 But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it. 33 And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it. 34 But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples. 35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. 36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. 37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? 39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
