1Weh Ariel, Ariel[1], du Stadt, wo David lagerte! Fügt Jahr zu Jahr und feiert die Feste! (Jes 33,7)2Ich will den Ariel ängstigen, dass er traurig und voll Jammer sei, und er soll mir ein rechter Ariel sein.3Denn ich will dich belagern ringsumher und will dich einschließen mit Bollwerk und will Wälle um dich aufschütten lassen. (Jes 30,30)7Und wie ein Traum, wie ein Nachtgesicht, so soll die Menge aller Völker sein, die gegen Ariel kämpfen mit ihrem ganzen Heer und Bollwerk und die ihn ängstigen.8Denn wie ein Hungriger träumt, dass er esse – wenn er aber aufwacht, so ist sein Verlangen nicht gestillt; und wie ein Durstiger träumt, dass er trinke – wenn er aber aufwacht, ist er matt und durstig: So soll es der Menge aller Völker ergehen, die gegen den Berg Zion kämpfen.
Die Verblendung des Volkes
9Starrt hin und werdet bestürzt, seid verblendet und werdet blind! Seid trunken, doch nicht vom Wein, taumelt, doch nicht vom Bier! (Jes 6,9)10Denn der HERR hat über euch einen Geist des tiefen Schlafs ausgegossen und eure Augen – die Propheten – zugetan, und eure Häupter – die Seher – hat er verhüllt. (Jes 28,21; Jes 44,25; Mt 11,25; 1Kor 1,19)15Weh denen, die mit ihrem Plan verborgen sein wollen vor dem HERRN und mit ihrem Tun im Finstern bleiben und sprechen: »Wer sieht uns und wer kennt uns?« (Ps 10,11; Jes 47,10)16Wie kehrt ihr alles um! Als ob der Ton dem Töpfer gleich wäre, dass das Werk spräche von seinem Meister: Er hat mich nicht gemacht!, und ein Bildwerk spräche von seinem Bildner: Er versteht nichts! (Jes 45,9; Jes 64,7; Jer 18,1; Röm 9,20)
Die große Wandlung
17Wohlan, es ist noch eine kleine Weile, so soll der Libanon fruchtbares Land werden, und was jetzt fruchtbares Land ist, soll wie ein Wald werden. (Jes 32,15)18Zu der Zeit werden die Tauben hören die Worte des Buches, und die Augen der Blinden werden aus Dunkel und Finsternis sehen; (Jes 32,3; Jes 35,5; Mt 11,5)19und die Elenden werden wieder Freude haben am HERRN, und die Ärmsten unter den Menschen werden fröhlich sein in dem Heiligen Israels.20Denn es wird ein Ende haben mit den Tyrannen und mit den Spöttern aus sein, und es werden vertilgt werden alle, die darauf aus sind, Unheil anzurichten,21welche die Leute schuldig sprechen vor Gericht und stellen dem nach, der sie zurechtweist im Tor, und beugen durch Lügen das Recht des Unschuldigen.
