Das Gleichnis vom Waldbrand

1 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir: 2 Du Menschenkind, richte dein Angesicht nach Teman hin und rufe nach Süden und weissage gegen den Wald im Südland 3 und sprich zum Wald im Südland: Höre des HERRN Wort! So spricht Gott der HERR: Siehe, ich will in dir ein Feuer anzünden, das soll jeden grünen und jeden dürren Baum verzehren, dass man seine Flamme nicht wird löschen können, sondern es soll durch sie jedes Angesicht versengt werden vom Südland bis zum Norden hin. 4 Und alles Fleisch soll sehen, dass ich, der HERR, es angezündet habe und niemand es löschen kann. 5 Ich aber sprach: Ach, Herr HERR, sie sagen von mir: Redet der nicht immer in Rätseln?

Ein Schwert ist bereit

6 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir: 7 Du Menschenkind, richte dein Angesicht gegen Jerusalem und rede gegen sein Heiligtum und weissage gegen das Land Israels 8 und sprich zum Land Israels: So spricht der HERR: Siehe, ich will an dich; ich will mein Schwert aus der Scheide ziehen und will in dir ausrotten Gerechte und Ungerechte. 9 Weil ich denn in dir Gerechte und Ungerechte ausrotte, darum soll mein Schwert aus der Scheide fahren über alles Fleisch vom Südland bis zum Norden hin. 10 Und alles Fleisch soll erfahren, dass ich, der HERR, mein Schwert aus der Scheide gezogen habe; es soll nicht wieder eingesteckt werden. 11 Und du, Menschenkind, sollst seufzen, bis dir die Lenden wehtun, ja, bitterlich sollst du seufzen, dass sie es sehen! 12 Und wenn sie zu dir sagen werden: Warum seufzest du?, so sollst du sagen: Um einer Botschaft willen, die kommen wird; vor ihr werden alle Herzen verzagen und alle Hände sinken, allen der Mut entfallen und alle Knie weich werden. Siehe, es kommt und wird geschehen, spricht Gott der HERR. (Hes 7,17) 13 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir: 14 Du Menschenkind, weissage und sprich: So spricht der Herr: Sprich: Ein Schwert, ja, ein Schwert ist geschärft und geschliffen. 15 Es ist geschärft, dass es schlachten soll; es ist geschliffen, dass es blinken soll. Wie sollten wir uns da freuen? Mein Sohn, du hast den Stock verachtet und jeden Rat. 16 Und er hat ein Schwert zum Schleifen gegeben, dass man’s ergreifen soll; es ist geschärft und geschliffen, dass man’s dem Henker in die Hand gebe. 17 Schrei und heule, du Menschenkind; denn es geht über mein Volk und über alle Regenten in Israel, die dem Schwert verfallen sind samt meinem Volk. Darum schlage auf die Hüfte; 18 denn die Prüfung ist da, und wie sollte es nicht geschehen, da du doch den Stock verachtet hast?, spricht Gott der HERR. (Jes 1,5) 19 Und du, Menschenkind, weissage und schlag deine Hände zusammen! Denn das Schwert wird zweifach, ja dreifach kommen, ein Schlachtschwert, ein großes Schlachtschwert, das sie umkreisen wird, 20 damit die Herzen verzagen und viele fallen sollen; an allen ihren Toren lasse ich das Schwert wüten. Wehe, es ist zum Blitzen gemacht, zum Schlachten geschärft! 21 Hau drein zur Rechten und Linken, wohin deine Schneiden gewandt sind! 22 Dann will auch ich meine Hände zusammenschlagen und meinen Zorn stillen. Ich, der HERR, habe es gesagt.

Das Schwert des Königs von Babel

23 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir: 24 Du Menschenkind, mach dir zwei Wege, auf denen das Schwert des Königs von Babel kommen kann; sie sollen aber beide von einem einzigen Land ausgehen. Und stelle einen Wegweiser an den Anfang eines jeden Weges, der zu einer Stadt weisen soll, 25 und mache den einen Weg, damit das Schwert nach Rabba kommen kann, der Stadt der Ammoniter, und den andern nach Juda, zu der festen Stadt Jerusalem. 26 Denn der König von Babel steht an der Wegscheide, am Anfang der beiden Wege, um sich wahrsagen zu lassen: Er wirft mit den Pfeilen das Los, befragt seinen Götzen und beschaut die Leber. 27 Und das Los in seiner Rechten deutet nach Jerusalem, dass er Sturmböcke heranführe: Da soll er den Mund auftun mit großem Geschrei, die Stimme erheben mit Kriegsgeschrei, Sturmböcke heranführen gegen die Tore, einen Wall aufschütten und ein Bollwerk bauen. – (Hes 4,2) 28 Aber ihnen wird diese Wahrsagung trügerisch scheinen; haben sie doch heilige Eide empfangen. Er aber wird sie an ihre Schuld erinnern, dass sie dabei behaftet werden. 29 Darum, so spricht Gott der HERR: Weil ihr an eure Schuld erinnert habt und euer Ungehorsam offenbar geworden ist, sodass man eure Sünden sieht in all euren Taten, ja, weil ihr daran erinnert habt, sollt ihr dabei behaftet werden. 30 Und du, Fürst in Israel, du unheiliger Frevler, dessen Tag kommen wird, wenn die Schuld zum Ende geführt hat, – 31 so spricht Gott der HERR: Weg mit dem Kopfbund und herunter mit der Krone! Denn nichts bleibt, wie es ist, sondern was niedrig ist, soll erhöht werden, und was hoch ist, soll erniedrigt werden. (2Mo 28,4; Lk 18,14) 32 Zu Trümmern, zu Trümmern, zu Trümmern will ich sie machen – aber auch dies wird nicht bleiben –, bis der kommt, der das Recht hat; dem will ich es geben. (1Mo 49,10)

Das Schwert über Ammon

33 Und du, Menschenkind, weissage und sprich: So spricht Gott der HERR über die Ammoniter und über ihr Schmähen: Du sollst sagen: Das Schwert, das Schwert ist gezückt, dass es schlachten soll; es ist geschliffen, dass es töten soll, und soll blinken, (Hes 25,2) 34 während du dir trügerische Gesichte schauen und Lügen wahrsagen lässt; das Schwert soll an den Hals unheiliger Frevler gesetzt werden, deren Tag kommen wird, wenn die Schuld zum Ende geführt hat. 35 Stecke es wieder in die Scheide! Ich will dich richten an dem Ort, an dem du geschaffen, und im Land, in dem du geboren bist. 36 Und ich will meinen Zorn über dich ausschütten; ich will das Feuer meines Grimms über dich entfachen und will dich rohen Leuten preisgeben, die Verderben schmieden. 37 Du sollst dem Feuer zum Fraß werden, und dein Blut soll im Lande vergossen werden, und man wird nicht mehr an dich denken; denn ich, der HERR, habe es geredet.

The Lord Has Drawn His Sword

1 ^[1] The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem and preach against the sanctuaries.^[2] Prophesy against the land of Israel (Hes 2,1; Hes 20,46) 3 and say to the land of Israel, Thus says the Lord: Behold, I am against you and will draw my sword from its sheath and will cut off from you both righteous and wicked. 4 Because I will cut off from you both righteous and wicked, therefore my sword shall be drawn from its sheath against all flesh from south to north. 5 And all flesh shall know that I am the Lord. I have drawn my sword from its sheath; it shall not be sheathed again. 8 And the word of the Lord came to me: 9 “Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus says the Lord, say: “A sword, a sword is sharpened and also polished, (Hes 21,2; Hes 21,3) 10 sharpened for slaughter, polished to flash like lightning! 11 So the sword is given to be polished, that it may be grasped in the hand. It is sharpened and polished to be given into the hand of the slayer. (Hes 21,19) 12 Cry out and wail, son of man, for it is against my people. It is against all the princes of Israel. They are delivered over to the sword with my people. Strike therefore upon your thigh. (Jer 31,19; Hes 21,6) 13 For it will not be a testing—what could it do if you despise the rod?”^[4] declares the Lord God. 15 that their hearts may melt, and many stumble.^[6] At all their gates I have given the glittering sword. Ah, it is made like lightning; it is taken up^[7] for slaughter. (Hes 21,10) 16 Cut sharply to the right; set yourself to the left, wherever your face is directed. 17 I also will clap my hands, and I will satisfy my fury; I the Lord have spoken.” (Hes 5,13; Hes 17,24; Hes 21,14) 18 The word of the Lord came to me again: 19 “As for you, son of man, mark two ways for the sword of the king of Babylon to come. 26 thus says the Lord God: Remove the turban and take off the crown. Things shall not remain as they are. Exalt that which is low, and bring low that which is exalted.
