Denn es wird eine Zeit so großer Trübsal sein, wie sie nie gewesen ist, seitdem es Völker gibt, bis zu jener Zeit. Aber zu jener Zeit wird dein Volk errettet werden, alle, die im Buch geschrieben stehen. (Dan 7,10; Dan 10,13; Mt 24,21; Offb 12,7)2Und viele, die im Staub der Erde schlafen, werden aufwachen, die einen zum ewigen Leben, die andern zu ewiger Schmach und Schande. (Jes 26,19; Joh 5,29)3Und die Verständigen[1] werden leuchten wie des Himmels Glanz, und die viele zur Gerechtigkeit weisen, wie die Sterne immer und ewiglich. (Spr 4,18; Dan 11,33; Mt 13,43)4Und du, Daniel, verbirg diese Worte und versiegle dies Buch bis auf die letzte Zeit. Viele werden herumirren, und die Bosheit wird zunehmen[2]. (Offb 10,4)5Und ich, Daniel, sah, und siehe, es standen zwei andere da, einer an diesem Ufer des Stroms, der andere an jenem Ufer.6Und er sprach zu dem Mann in leinenen Kleidern, der über den Wassern des Stroms stand: Wann kommt das Ende dieser großen Wunder? (Dan 10,5)7Und ich hörte den Mann in leinenen Kleidern, der über den Wassern des Stroms stand. Er hob seine rechte und linke Hand auf gen Himmel und schwor bei dem, der ewiglich lebt, dass es eine Zeit und zwei Zeiten und eine halbe Zeit währen soll; und wenn der ein Ende hat, der die Macht des heiligen Volks zerschlägt, soll dies alles geschehen. (Dan 7,25; Offb 10,5)8Und ich hörte es, aber ich verstand’s nicht und sprach: Mein Herr, was wird das Letzte davon sein?9Er aber sprach: Geh hin, Daniel; denn es ist verborgen und versiegelt bis auf die letzte Zeit.10Viele werden gereinigt, geläutert und geprüft werden, aber die Gottlosen werden gottlos handeln; alle Gottlosen werden’s nicht verstehen, aber die Verständigen werden’s verstehen.11Und von der Zeit an, da das tägliche Opfer abgeschafft und das Gräuelbild der Verwüstung aufgestellt wird, sind 1290 Tage. (Dan 9,27)12Wohl dem, der da wartet und erreicht 1335 Tage!13Du aber, Daniel, geh dem Ende entgegen, und ruhe, bis du aufstehst zu deinem Erbteil am Ende der Tage![3]
