1Rufe laut, halte nicht an dich! Erhebe deine Stimme wie eine Posaune und verkündige meinem Volk seine Abtrünnigkeit und dem Hause Jakob seine Sünden! (Mi 3,8)2Sie suchen mich täglich und wollen gerne meine Wege wissen, als wären sie ein Volk, das die Gerechtigkeit schon getan und das Recht seines Gottes nicht verlassen hätte. Sie fordern von mir Recht, sie wollen, dass Gott ihnen nahe sei. (Jes 29,13)3»Warum fasten wir und du siehst es nicht an? Warum kasteien wir unseren Leib und du willst’s nicht wissen?« Siehe, an dem Tag, da ihr fastet, geht ihr doch euren Geschäften nach und bedrückt alle eure Arbeiter. (Jer 14,12)4Siehe, wenn ihr fastet, hadert und zankt ihr und schlagt mit gottloser Faust drein. Ihr sollt nicht so fasten, wie ihr jetzt tut, wenn eure Stimme in der Höhe gehört werden soll.5Soll das ein Fasten sein, an dem ich Gefallen habe, ein Tag, an dem man sich kasteit oder seinen Kopf hängen lässt wie Schilf und in Sack und Asche sich bettet? Wollt ihr das ein Fasten nennen und einen Tag, an dem der HERR Wohlgefallen hat? (Sach 7,5; Mt 6,16)6Ist nicht das ein Fasten, an dem ich Gefallen habe: Lass los, die du mit Unrecht gebunden hast, lass ledig, auf die du das Joch gelegt hast! Gib frei, die du bedrückst, reiß jedes Joch weg!7Heißt das nicht: Brich dem Hungrigen dein Brot, und die im Elend ohne Obdach sind, führe ins Haus! Wenn du einen nackt siehst, so kleide ihn, und entzieh dich nicht deinem Fleisch und Blut! (5Mo 15,11; Hes 18,7; Mt 25,35)8Dann wird dein Licht hervorbrechen wie die Morgenröte, und deine Heilung wird schnell voranschreiten, und deine Gerechtigkeit wird vor dir hergehen, und die Herrlichkeit des HERRN wird deinen Zug beschließen. (Ps 37,6; Jes 52,12)9Dann wirst du rufen und der HERR wird dir antworten. Wenn du schreist, wird er sagen: Siehe, hier bin ich. Wenn du in deiner Mitte niemand unterjochst und nicht mit Fingern zeigst und nicht übel redest, (Jes 30,19)10sondern den Hungrigen dein Herz finden lässt und den Elenden sättigst, dann wird dein Licht in der Finsternis aufgehen, und dein Dunkel wird sein wie der Mittag.11Und der HERR wird dich immerdar führen und dich sättigen in der Dürre und dein Gebein stärken. Und du wirst sein wie ein bewässerter Garten und wie eine Wasserquelle, der es nie an Wasser fehlt. (Jer 31,12)12Und es soll durch dich wieder aufgebaut werden, was lange wüst gelegen hat, und du wirst wieder aufrichten, was vorzeiten gegründet ward; und du sollst heißen: »Der die Lücken zumauert und die Wege ausbessert, dass man da wohnen könne«. Vom Segen der Sabbatheiligung
13Wenn du deinen Fuß am Sabbat zurückhältst und nicht deinen Geschäften nachgehst an meinem heiligen Tage und den Sabbat »Lust« nennst und den heiligen Tag des HERRN »Geehrt«; wenn du ihn dadurch ehrst, dass du nicht deine Gänge machst und nicht deine Geschäfte treibst und kein leeres Geschwätz redest, (Jes 56,2; Jes 56,4)14dann wirst du deine Lust haben am HERRN, und ich will dich über die Höhen auf Erden gehen lassen und will dich speisen mit dem Erbe deines Vaters Jakob; denn des HERRN Mund hat’s geredet.
1Rufe aus ⟨voller⟩ Kehle, halte nicht zurück! Erhebe deine Stimme wie ein Horn und verkünde meinem Volk sein[1] Vergehen und dem Haus Jakob seine[2] Sünden! Nennst du das ein Fasten und einen dem HERRN wohlgefälligen Tag? (Mt 6,16)6Ist nicht ⟨vielmehr⟩ das ein Fasten, an dem ich Gefallen habe: Ungerechte Fesseln[8] zu lösen, die Knoten des Joches zu öffnen, gewalttätig Behandelte als Freie zu entlassen und dass ihr jedes Joch zerbrecht? (2Chr 28,11; Neh 5,11; Jon 3,8)7⟨Besteht es⟩ nicht ⟨darin⟩, dein Brot dem Hungrigen zu brechen und dass du heimatlose Elende ins Haus führst? Wenn du einen Nackten[9] siehst, dass du ihn bedeckst und dass du dich deinem Nächsten[10] nicht entziehst? (Hi 31,19; Hes 18,7; Mt 25,35)8Dann wird dein Licht hervorbrechen wie die Morgenröte, und deine Heilung wird schnell sprossen. Deine Gerechtigkeit wird vor dir herziehen, die Herrlichkeit des HERRN wird deine Nachhut sein[11]. (Hi 11,17; Ps 37,6; Ps 112,4; Spr 11,17; Spr 11,25; Jes 60,2)9Dann wirst du rufen, und der HERR wird antworten. Du wirst um Hilfe schreien, und er wird sagen: Hier bin ich! Wenn du aus deiner Mitte fortschaffst das Joch, das Fingerausstrecken[12] und böses Reden (Hi 22,27; Ps 145,18; Spr 6,13; Jes 30,19; Jes 65,24)10und ⟨wenn du⟩ dem Hungrigen dein Brot[13] darreichst und die gebeugte Seele sättigst, dann wird dein Licht aufgehen in der Finsternis, und dein Dunkel wird sein wie der Mittag. Und du wirst genannt werden: Vermaurer von Breschen, Wiederhersteller von Straßen zum Wohnen. 1‘Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people their rebellion and to the descendants of Jacob their sins.2For day after day they seek me out; they seem eager to know my ways, as if they were a nation that does what is right and has not forsaken the commands of its God. They ask me for just decisions and seem eager for God to come near them.3“Why have we fasted,” they say, “and you have not seen it? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you have not noticed?” ‘Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please and exploit all your workers.4Your fasting ends in quarrelling and strife, and in striking each other with wicked fists. You cannot fast as you do today and expect your voice to be heard on high.5Is this the kind of fast I have chosen, only a day for people to humble themselves? Is it only for bowing one’s head like a reed and for lying in sackcloth and ashes? Is that what you call a fast, a day acceptable to the Lord?6‘Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?7Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter – when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?8Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness[1] will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.9Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: here am I. ‘If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk,10and if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.11The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame.
