Die vierundzwanzig Abteilungen der Priester

1 Dies waren die Abteilungen der Söhne Aaron. Die Söhne Aarons waren: Nadab, Abihu, Eleasar und Itamar. (1Chr 5,29; 1Chr 23,6) 2 Aber Nadab und Abihu starben vor ihrem Vater und hatten keine Söhne. Und Eleasar und Itamar wurden Priester. (3Mo 10,1; 3Mo 10,12) 3 Und David zusammen mit Zadok von den Söhnen Eleasar und mit Ahimelech von den Söhnen Itamar teilte sie ein nach ihrer Abteilung und ihrem Amt. (2Chr 8,14) 4 Und es fand sich bei den Söhnen Eleasar eine größere Zahl an Männern als bei den Söhnen Itamar. Und sie teilten sie ein: von den Söhnen Eleasar sechzehn Häupter der Sippen und von den Söhnen Itamar acht Häupter der Sippen. 5 Und sie teilten sie beide durchs Los; denn es waren Oberste im Heiligtum und Oberste vor Gott unter den Söhnen Eleasar und unter den Söhnen Itamar. 6 Und der Schreiber Schemaja, der Sohn Netanels, ein Levit, schrieb sie auf vor dem König und vor den Oberen und vor dem Priester Zadok und vor Ahimelech, dem Sohn Abjatars, und vor den Häuptern der Sippen der Priester und Leviten, nämlich eine Sippe für Eleasar und eine für Itamar. (1Chr 18,16) 7 Und das erste Los fiel auf Jojarib, das zweite auf Jedaja, 8 das dritte auf Harim, das vierte auf Seorim, 9 das fünfte auf Malkija, das sechste auf Mijamin, 10 das siebente auf Hakkoz, das achte auf Abija, (Lk 1,5) 11 das neunte auf Jeschua, das zehnte auf Schechanja, 12 das elfte auf Eljaschib, das zwölfte auf Jakim, 13 das dreizehnte auf Huppa, das vierzehnte auf Jeschebab, 14 das fünfzehnte auf Bilga, das sechzehnte auf Immer, 15 das siebzehnte auf Hesir, das achtzehnte auf Pizzez, 16 das neunzehnte auf Petachja, das zwanzigste auf Jeheskel, 17 das einundzwanzigste auf Jachin, das zweiundzwanzigste auf Gamul, 18 das dreiundzwanzigste auf Delaja, das vierundzwanzigste auf Maasja. 19 Das sind ihre Abteilungen nach ihrem Amt, in das Haus des HERRN zu gehen nach der Ordnung, die ihnen ihr Vater Aaron gegeben hat, wie ihm der HERR, der Gott Israels, geboten hatte.

Die Familien der Leviten

20 Von den andern Söhnen Levi waren da: von den Söhnen Amram: Schubaël, von den Söhnen Schubaëls: Jechdeja; 21 von den Söhnen Rehabjas war der erste Jischija; (1Chr 23,17; 1Chr 26,23; 1Chr 26,25) 22 von den Jizharitern: Schelomit; von den Söhnen Schelomits: Jahat. 23 Die Söhne Hebrons waren: Jerija, der erste, Amarja, der zweite, Jahasiël, der dritte, Jekamam, der vierte; 24 die Söhne Usiëls waren: Micha, von den Söhnen Michas: Schamir. 25 Der Bruder Michas war Jischija, von den Söhnen Jischijas: Secharja. 26 Die Söhne Merari waren: Machli und Muschi und die Söhne Jaasijas, seines Sohnes. 27 Die Söhne Merari von Jaasija, seinem Sohn, waren: Schoham, Sakkur und Ibri, 28 von Machli: Eleasar; der hatte keine Söhne. 29 Der Sohn des Kisch war Jerachmeel. 30 Die Söhne Muschis waren Machli, Eder und Jeremot. Das sind die Leviten nach ihren Sippen. 31 Und man warf auch für sie das Los wie für ihre Brüder, die Söhne Aaron, vor König David und vor Zadok und Ahimelech und vor den Häuptern der Sippen der Priester und Leviten, für den jüngsten Bruder ebenso wie für das Haupt der Sippe. Abteilungen der Priester

1 Auch die Söhne Aaron hatten ihre Abteilungen: Die Söhne Aaron: Nadab und Abihu, Eleasar und Itamar. (4Mo 3,2) 3 Und David teilte sie ⟨gemeinsam⟩ mit Zadok von den Söhnen Eleasars und Ahimelech von den Söhnen Itamars nach ihrem Amt in ihren Dienst ein. (1Chr 18,16; 2Chr 8,14; Lk 1,8) 4 Und die Söhne Eleasars wurden in der Gesamtzahl der Männer zahlreicher befunden als die Söhne Itamars. Und sie teilten sie ⟨so⟩ ein: Von den Söhnen Eleasars sechzehn Häupter für die Vaterhäuser und von den Söhnen Itamars acht ⟨Häupter⟩ für ihre Vaterhäuser. 5 Und zwar teilten sie diese wie jene durch Lose ein, denn die Obersten des Heiligtums, die Obersten vor Gott^[1], waren aus den Söhnen Eleasars und aus den Söhnen Itamars. 6 Und der Schreiber Schemaja, der Sohn Netanels, von Levi, schrieb sie auf in Gegenwart des Königs und der Obersten und des Priesters Zadok und Ahimelechs, des Sohnes Abjatars, und der Familienoberhäupter^[2], der Priester und der Leviten. The divisions of priests

1 These were the divisions of the descendants of Aaron: The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. 2 But Nadab and Abihu died before their father did, and they had no sons; so Eleazar and Ithamar served as the priests. 3 With the help of Zadok a descendant of Eleazar and Ahimelek a descendant of Ithamar, David separated them into divisions for their appointed order of ministering. 4 A larger number of leaders were found among Eleazar’s descendants than among Ithamar’s, and they were divided accordingly: sixteen heads of families from Eleazar’s descendants and eight heads of families from Ithamar’s descendants. 5 They divided them impartially by casting lots, for there were officials of the sanctuary and officials of God among the descendants of both Eleazar and Ithamar. 6 The scribe Shemaiah son of Nethanel, a Levite, recorded their names in the presence of the king and of the officials: Zadok the priest, Ahimelek son of Abiathar and the heads of families of the priests and of the Levites – one family being taken from Eleazar and then one from Ithamar. 7 The first lot fell to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah, 8 the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim, 9 the fifth to Malkijah, the sixth to Mijamin, 10 the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah, 11 the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shekaniah, 12 the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim, 13 the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab, 14 the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer, 15 the seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Happizzez, 16 the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezkel, 17 the twenty-first to Jakin, the twenty-second to Gamul, 18 the twenty-third to Delaiah and the twenty-fourth to Maaziah. 19 This was their appointed order of ministering when they entered the temple of the Lord, according to the regulations prescribed for them by their ancestor Aaron, as the Lord, the God of Israel, had commanded him.

The rest of the Levites

20 As for the rest of the descendants of Levi: From the sons of Amram: Shubael; from the sons of Shubael: Jehdeiah. 21 As for Rehabiah, from his sons, Ishiah was the first. 22 From the Izharites: Shelomoth; from the sons of Shelomoth: Jahath. 23 The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the first,^[1] Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third and Jekameam the fourth. 24 The son of Uzziel: Micah; from the sons of Micah: Shamir. 25 The brother of Micah: Ishiah; from the sons of Ishiah: Zechariah. 26 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The son of Jaaziah: Beno. 27 The sons of Merari: from Jaaziah: Beno, Shoham, Zakkur and Ibri. 28 From Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons. 29 From Kish: the son of Kish: Jerahmeel. 30 And the sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder and Jerimoth. These were the Levites, according to their families. 31 They also cast lots, just as their relatives the descendants of Aaron did, in the presence of King David and of Zadok, Ahimelek, and the heads of families of the priests and of the Levites. The families of the eldest brother were treated the same as those of the youngest.
