Die vierundzwanzig Abteilungen der Sänger

1 Und David und die Feldhauptleute sonderten aus zum Dienst die Söhne Asafs, Hemans und Jedutuns als Propheten mit Harfen, Psaltern und Zimbeln. Und es war die Zahl derer, die Dienst taten in ihrem Amt: (1Chr 15,19) 

2 von den Söhnen Asafs: Sakkur, Josef, Netanja, Asarela, Söhne Asafs, unter Asaf, der im Auftrag des Königs weissagte. 

3 Von Jedutun: Jedutuns Söhne: Gedalja, Zeri, Jeschaja, Haschabja, Mattitja, Schimi, diese sechs, unter ihrem Vater Jedutun mit der Harfe, der da weissagte, zu danken und zu loben den HERRN. 

4 Von Heman: Hemans Söhne: Bukkija, Mattanja, Usiël, Schubaël, Jerimot, Hananja, Hanani, Eliata, Giddalti, Romamti-Eser, Joschbekascha, Malloti, Hotir und Mahasiot. 

5 Diese alle waren Söhne Hemans, des Sehers des Königs, nach den Worten Gottes, sein Haupt zu erhöhen; denn Gott hatte Heman vierzehn Söhne und drei Töchter gegeben. (2Chr 35,15) 

6 Diese alle sangen unter der Leitung ihrer Väter Asaf, Jedutun und Heman im Hause des HERRN mit Zimbeln, Psaltern und Harfen für den Dienst im Hause Gottes im Auftrag des Königs. 

7 Und es war ihre Zahl mit ihren Brüdern, die im Gesang des HERRN geübt waren, allesamt Meister, zweihundertachtundachtzig. 

8 Und sie warfen das Los um ihre Ämter, für den Jüngeren wie für den Älteren, für den Lehrer wie für den Schüler. (1Chr 24,31) 

9 Und das erste Los fiel unter Asaf auf Josef. Das zweite auf Gedalja samt seinen Brüdern und Söhnen; ihrer waren zwölf. 

10 Das dritte auf Sakkur samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

11 Das vierte auf Zeri samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

12 Das fünfte auf Netanja samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

13 Das sechste auf Bukkija samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

14 Das siebente auf Asarela samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

15 Das achte auf Jeschaja samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

16 Das neunte auf Mattanja samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

17 Das zehnte auf Schimi samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

18 Das elfte auf Asarel samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. (1Chr 12,7) 

19 Das zwölfte auf Haschabja samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

20 Das dreizehnte auf Schubaël samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

21 Das vierzehnte auf Mattitja samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

22 Das fünfzehnte auf Jeremot samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

23 Das sechzehnte auf Hananja samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

24 Das siebzehnte auf Joschbekascha samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

25 Das achtzehnte auf Hanani samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

26 Das neunzehnte auf Malloti samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

27 Das zwanzigste auf Eliata samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

28 Das einundzwanzigste auf Hotir samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

29 Das zweiundzwanzigste auf Giddalti samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

30 Das dreiundzwanzigste auf Mahasiot samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf. 

31 Das vierundzwanzigste auf Romamti-Eser samt seinen Söhnen und Brüdern; ihrer waren zwölf.

1 Und David und die Obersten des Heeres sonderten die Söhne Asafs und Hemans und Jedutuns zum Dienst aus, die mit Zithern und mit Harfen und mit Zimbeln weissagten. Und ihre Zahl, ⟨die Zahl⟩ der Männer, die ihren Dienst taten, war: (1Chr 13,8; 1Chr 15,28; 1Chr 16,4; 2Chr 5,12; 2Chr 8,14; 2Chr 23,18; Esr 2,41; Esr 6,18; Neh 12,45; Ps 81,3; Ps 92,2; Ps 150,3) 

2 Von den Söhnen Asafs: Sakkur und Josef und Netanja und Asarela, die Söhne Asafs, unter der Leitung Asafs, der nach der Anweisung des Königs weissagte. (Esr 3,10) 

3 Von Jedutun die Söhne Jedutuns: Gedalja und Zeri und Jesaja, Haschabja und Mattitja, und Schimi, ⟨zusammen⟩ sechs, unter der Leitung ihres Vaters Jedutun, der mit der Zither weissagte, um den HERRN zu preisen und zu loben. (1Sam 10,5; 1Chr 16,41) 

4 Von Heman die Söhne Hemans: Bukkija und Mattanja, Usiël, Schubaël und Jerimot, Hananja, Hanani, Eliata, Giddalti und Romamti-Eser, Joschbekascha, Malloti, Hotir, Mahasiot. 

5 Alle diese waren Söhne Hemans, des Sehers des Königs nach der Zusage Gottes, seine Macht zu erhöhen; und Gott hatte dem Heman vierzehn Söhne und drei Töchter gegeben. (2Chr 35,15) 

6 Alle diese ⟨spielten⟩ unter der Leitung ihrer Väter, Asaf und Jedutun und Heman, beim Gesang im Haus des HERRN auf Zimbeln, Harfen und Zithern, für den Dienst im Haus Gottes, nach der Anweisung des Königs. (1Kön 10,12; 2Chr 23,13; 2Chr 29,13; Neh 11,17; Neh 12,24) 

7 Und es war ihre Zahl mit ihren Brüdern, die im Gesang für den HERRN geübt waren, alles Meister, 288. (1Chr 25,2; 2Chr 34,12) 

8 Und sie warfen Lose um ⟨ihren⟩ Dienst, der Kleine genauso wie der Große, der Meister mit dem Schüler. (1Chr 24,5; 1Chr 26,13) 

9 Und das erste Los kam heraus für Asaf, für Josef; ⟨für⟩ Gedalja das zweite: Er und seine Brüder und seine Söhne waren zwölf; 

10 das dritte ⟨für⟩ Sakkur: seine Söhne und seine Brüder, zwölf; 

11 das vierte für Zeri: seine Söhne und seine Brüder, zwölf; 

12 das fünfte ⟨für⟩ Netanja: seine Söhne und seine Brüder, zwölf;

New International Version

The musicians

1 David, together with the commanders of the army, set apart some of the sons of Asaph, Heman and Jeduthun for the ministry of prophesying, accompanied by harps, lyres and cymbals. Here is the list of the men who performed this service: 

2 from the sons of Asaph: Zakkur, Joseph, Nethaniah and Asarelah. The sons of Asaph were under the supervision of Asaph, who prophesied under the king’s supervision. 

3 As for Jeduthun, from his sons: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah and Mattithiah, six in all, under the supervision of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied, using the harp in thanking and praising the Lord. 

4 As for Heman, from his sons: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shubael and Jerimoth; Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti and Romamti-Ezer; Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir and Mahazioth. 

5 (All these were sons of Heman the king’s seer. They were given to him through the promises of God to exalt him. God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.) 

6 All these men were under the supervision of their father for the music of the temple of the Lord, with cymbals, lyres and harps, for the ministry at the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun and Heman were under the supervision of the king. 

7 Along with their relatives – all of them trained and skilled in music for the Lord – they numbered 288. 

8 Young and old alike, teacher as well as student, cast lots for their duties. 1 Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was: 

2 Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, which prophesied according to the order of the king. 

3 Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD. 

4 Of Heman: the sons of Heman; Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth: 

5 All these were the sons of Heman the king' seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters. 

6 All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king' order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman. 

7 So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD, even all that were cunning, was two hundred fourscore and eight. 

8 And they cast lots, ward against ward , as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar. 

9 Now the first lot came forth for Asaph to Joseph: the second to Gedaliah, who with his brethren and sons were twelve: 

10 The third to Zaccur, he , his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
