1Danach offenbarte sich Jesus abermals den Jüngern am See von Tiberias. Er offenbarte sich aber so:2Es waren beieinander Simon Petrus und Thomas, der Zwilling genannt wird, und Nathanael aus Kana in Galiläa und die Söhne des Zebedäus und zwei andere seiner Jünger. (Joh 1,45)3Spricht Simon Petrus zu ihnen: Ich gehe fischen. Sie sprechen zu ihm: Wir kommen mit dir. Sie gingen hinaus und stiegen in das Boot, und in dieser Nacht fingen sie nichts.4Als es aber schon Morgen war, stand Jesus am Ufer, aber die Jünger wussten nicht, dass es Jesus war. (Lk 24,16; Joh 20,14)5Spricht Jesus zu ihnen: Kinder, habt ihr nichts zu essen? Sie antworteten ihm: Nein. (Lk 24,41)6Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Werft das Netz aus zur Rechten des Bootes, so werdet ihr finden. Da warfen sie es aus und konnten’s nicht mehr ziehen wegen der Menge der Fische. (Lk 5,4)7Da spricht der Jünger, den Jesus lieb hatte, zu Petrus: Es ist der Herr! Als Simon Petrus hörte: »Es ist der Herr«, da gürtete er sich das Obergewand um, denn er war nackt, und warf sich in den See. (Joh 13,23)8Die andern Jünger aber kamen mit dem Boot, denn sie waren nicht fern vom Land, nur etwa zweihundert Ellen, und zogen das Netz mit den Fischen.9Als sie nun an Land stiegen, sahen sie ein Kohlenfeuer am Boden und Fisch darauf und Brot.10Spricht Jesus zu ihnen: Bringt von den Fischen, die ihr jetzt gefangen habt!11Simon Petrus stieg herauf und zog das Netz an Land, voll großer Fische, hundertdreiundfünfzig. Und obwohl es so viele waren, zerriss doch das Netz nicht.12Spricht Jesus zu ihnen: Kommt und haltet das Mahl! Niemand aber unter den Jüngern wagte, ihn zu fragen: Wer bist du? Denn sie wussten: Es ist der Herr.13Da kommt Jesus und nimmt das Brot und gibt’s ihnen, desgleichen auch den Fisch. (Joh 6,11)14Das ist nun das dritte Mal, dass sich Jesus den Jüngern offenbarte, nachdem er von den Toten auferstanden war.
Petrus und der Lieblingsjünger
15Da sie nun das Mahl gehalten hatten, spricht Jesus zu Simon Petrus: Simon, Sohn des Johannes, liebst du mich mehr, als mich diese lieb haben? Er spricht zu ihm: Ja, Herr, du weißt, dass ich dich lieb habe. Spricht Jesus zu ihm: Weide meine Lämmer! (Joh 1,42)16Spricht er zum zweiten Mal zu ihm: Simon, Sohn des Johannes, hast du mich lieb? Er spricht zu ihm: Ja, Herr, du weißt, dass ich dich lieb habe. Spricht Jesus zu ihm: Weide meine Schafe! (1Petr 5,2; 1Petr 5,4)17Spricht er zum dritten Mal zu ihm: Simon, Sohn des Johannes, hast du mich lieb? Petrus wurde traurig, weil er zum dritten Mal zu ihm sagte: Hast du mich lieb?, und sprach zu ihm: Herr, du weißt alle Dinge, du weißt, dass ich dich lieb habe. Spricht Jesus zu ihm: Weide meine Schafe! (Joh 13,38; Joh 16,30)18Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage dir: Als du jünger warst, gürtetest du dich selbst und gingst, wo du hinwolltest; wenn du aber alt bist, wirst du deine Hände ausstrecken und ein anderer wird dich gürten und führen, wo du nicht hinwillst.19Das sagte er aber, um anzuzeigen, mit welchem Tod er Gott preisen würde. Und als er das gesagt hatte, spricht er zu ihm: Folge mir nach! (Joh 13,36)20Petrus aber wandte sich um und sah den Jünger folgen, den Jesus lieb hatte, der auch beim Abendessen an seiner Brust gelegen und gesagt hatte: Herr, wer ist’s, der dich verrät? (Joh 13,23; Joh 13,25)21Als Petrus diesen sah, spricht er zu Jesus: Herr, was wird aber mit diesem?22Jesus spricht zu ihm: Wenn ich will, dass er bleibt, bis ich komme, was geht es dich an? Folge du mir nach!23Da kam unter den Brüdern die Rede auf: Dieser Jünger stirbt nicht. Aber Jesus hatte nicht zu ihm gesagt: Er stirbt nicht, sondern: Wenn ich will, dass er bleibt, bis ich komme, was geht es dich an?24Dies ist der Jünger, der das bezeugt und aufgeschrieben hat, und wir wissen, dass sein Zeugnis wahr ist. (Joh 15,27)25Es sind noch viele andere Dinge, die Jesus getan hat. Wenn aber eins nach dem andern aufgeschrieben werden sollte, so würde, meine ich, die Welt die Bücher nicht fassen, die zu schreiben wären. (Ps 106,2; Joh 20,30)
Jézus megjelenik a Tibériás-tengernél: a nagy halfogás
1Ezek után ismét megjelentette magát Jézus a tanítványoknak a Tibériás-tengernél. Így jelent meg:2Együtt voltak Simon Péter és Tamás, akit Ikernek hívtak, Nátánáel, a galileai Kánából és Zebedeus fiai és másik kettő is az ő tanítványai közül.3Mondta nekik Simon Péter: „Elmegyek halászni.“ Ők erre ezt mondták neki: „Elmegyünk mi is veled.“ Elmentek, és azonnal hajóra szálltak, de azon az éjszakán nem fogtak semmit.4Mikor pedig immár reggel lett, megállt Jézus a parton, a tanítványok azonban nem ismerték meg, hogy Jézus van ott.5Jézus pedig ezt mondta: „Fiaim! Van-e valami ennivalótok?“ Így feleltek neki: „Nincsen!“6Ő pedig ezt mondta nekik: „Vessétek ki a hálót a hajónak jobb oldala felől, és találtok.“ Oda vetették ki tehát, de kivonni már nem bírták a rengeteg hal miatt.7Az a tanítvány pedig, akit Jézus szeretett, így szólt Péternek: „Az Úr van ott!“ Simon Péter pedig, amikor meghallotta, hogy ott van az Úr, magára vette az ingét (mert mezítelen volt), és bevetette magát a tengerbe.8A többi tanítvány pedig a hajón ment (mert nem messze voltak a parttól, hanem mintegy kétszáz könyöknyire), és kivonták a hálót a halakkal.9Amint azért a partra kiszálltak, látják, hogy parázs van ott, rajta hal és kenyér.10Jézus ezt mondta nekik: „Hozzatok a halakból, amelyeket most fogtatok.“11Simon Péter beszállt, és kivonta a hálót a partra, amely tele volt nagy halakkal, százötvenhárommal, és noha ennyi volt, nem szakadozott a háló.12Jézus erre azt mondta nekik: „Gyertek, ebédeljetek.“ A tanítványok közül pedig senki sem merte tőle megkérdezni: „Ki vagy te?“ Mivelhogy tudták, hogy az Úr ő.13Odament tehát Jézus, vette a kenyeret, és adta nekik; és hasonlóképpen a halat is.14Ekkor már harmadszor jelent meg Jézus a tanítványainak, miután feltámadt a halálból.
Jézus kérdése Péterhez, Péter megbízatása
15Mikor aztán megebédeltek, Jézus ezt mondta Simon Péternek: „Simon, Jóna fia, jobban szeretsz-e engem ezeknél?“ Mondta neki: „Igen, Uram, te tudod, hogy szeretlek téged!“ Jézus azt mondta neki: „Legeltesd az én bárányaimat!“16Másodszor is mondta neki: „Simon, Jóna fia, szeretsz-e engem?“ Mondta neki: „Igen, Uram, te tudod, hogy én szeretlek téged.“ Jézus ezt mondta neki: „Őrizd az én juhaimat!“17Harmadszor is mondta neki: „Simon, Jóna fia, szeretsz-e engem?“ Megszomorodott Péter, hogy harmadszor is mondta neki: „Szeretsz-e engem?“ És mondta neki: „Uram, te mindent tudsz, te tudod, hogy én szeretlek téged.“ Jézus azt mondta neki: „Legeltesd az én juhaimat!18Bizony, bizony mondom néked, amikor ifjabb voltál, felövezted magadat, és oda mentél, ahova akartál, mikor pedig megöregszel, kinyújtod a kezedet, más övez fel téged, és oda visz, ahova nem akarod.“19Ezt pedig azért mondta, hogy jelezze, milyen halállal dicsőíti majd meg az Istent. És ezt mondva, így szólt hozzá: „Kövess engem!“
Jézus szava Péter és a szeretett tanítvány sorsáról
20Péter pedig megfordulva, látja, hogy követi az a tanítvány, akit szeretett Jézus, aki a vacsora közben is az ő keblén nyugodott, és mondta: „Uram! Ki az, aki elárul téged?“21Őt látva Péter, mondta Jézusnak: „Uram, ezzel pedig mi lesz?“22Jézus ezt mondta neki: „Ha akarom, hogy ő megmaradjon, amíg eljövök, mi közöd hozzá? Te kövess engem!“23Elterjedt tehát e beszéd az atyafiak között, hogy az a tanítvány nem hal meg. Pedig Jézus nem azt mondta neki, hogy nem hal meg, hanem ezt: „Ha akarom, hogy megmaradjon, amíg eljövök, mi közöd hozzá?“

24Ez az a tanítvány, aki bizonyságot tesz ezekről, és aki megírta ezeket, és tudjuk, hogy az ő bizonyságtétele igaz.25De van sok egyéb is, amiket Jézus cselekedett, amelyeket, ha egyenként megírnák, úgy vélem, hogy maga a világ sem fogadhatná be a könyveket, amelyeket megírtak. Ámen.
1Afterwards Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the Sea of Galilee.[1] It happened this way:2Simon Peter, Thomas (also known as Didymus[2]), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together.3‘I’m going out to fish,’ Simon Peter told them, and they said, ‘We’ll go with you.’ So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.4Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realise that it was Jesus.5He called out to them, ‘Friends, haven’t you any fish?’ ‘No,’ they answered.6He said, ‘Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.’ When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.7Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, ‘It is the Lord!’ As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, ‘It is the Lord,’ he wrapped his outer garment round him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water.8The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred metres.9When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread.10Jesus said to them, ‘Bring some of the fish you have just caught.’11So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn.12Jesus said to them, ‘Come and have breakfast.’ None of the disciples dared ask him, ‘Who are you?’ They knew it was the Lord.13Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.14This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead.
Jesus reinstates Peter
15When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?’ ‘Yes, Lord,’ he said, ‘you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Feed my lambs.’16Again Jesus said, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ He answered, ‘Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Take care of my sheep.’17The third time he said to him, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?’ Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, ‘Do you love me?’ He said, ‘Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Feed my sheep.18Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.’19Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, ‘Follow me!’20Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, ‘Lord, who is going to betray you?’)21When Peter saw him, he asked, ‘Lord, what about him?’22Jesus answered, ‘If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.’23Because of this, the rumour spread among the believers that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, ‘If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?’24This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true.25Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

And although there were so many, the net was not torn.12Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” Now none of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. Jesus and Peter
15When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” (Jes 40,11; Mt 16,17; Mt 26,33; Mk 14,29; Lk 22,31; Joh 1,42; Joh 10,11; Joh 21,12)16He said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” (Joh 21,15; Apg 20,28; 1Petr 5,2; Offb 7,17)17He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep. (Joh 2,25; Joh 13,38; Joh 21,16)18Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.” (Joh 13,36; Joh 21,7)19(This he said to show by what kind of death he was to glorify God.)
