1Danach offenbarte sich Jesus abermals den Jüngern am See von Tiberias. Er offenbarte sich aber so:2Es waren beieinander Simon Petrus und Thomas, der Zwilling genannt wird, und Nathanael aus Kana in Galiläa und die Söhne des Zebedäus und zwei andere seiner Jünger. (Joh 1,45)3Spricht Simon Petrus zu ihnen: Ich gehe fischen. Sie sprechen zu ihm: Wir kommen mit dir. Sie gingen hinaus und stiegen in das Boot, und in dieser Nacht fingen sie nichts.4Als es aber schon Morgen war, stand Jesus am Ufer, aber die Jünger wussten nicht, dass es Jesus war. (Lk 24,16; Joh 20,14)5Spricht Jesus zu ihnen: Kinder, habt ihr nichts zu essen? Sie antworteten ihm: Nein. (Lk 24,41)6Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Werft das Netz aus zur Rechten des Bootes, so werdet ihr finden. Da warfen sie es aus und konnten’s nicht mehr ziehen wegen der Menge der Fische. (Lk 5,4)7Da spricht der Jünger, den Jesus lieb hatte, zu Petrus: Es ist der Herr! Als Simon Petrus hörte: »Es ist der Herr«, da gürtete er sich das Obergewand um, denn er war nackt, und warf sich in den See. (Joh 13,23)8Die andern Jünger aber kamen mit dem Boot, denn sie waren nicht fern vom Land, nur etwa zweihundert Ellen, und zogen das Netz mit den Fischen.9Als sie nun an Land stiegen, sahen sie ein Kohlenfeuer am Boden und Fisch darauf und Brot.10Spricht Jesus zu ihnen: Bringt von den Fischen, die ihr jetzt gefangen habt!11Simon Petrus stieg herauf und zog das Netz an Land, voll großer Fische, hundertdreiundfünfzig. Und obwohl es so viele waren, zerriss doch das Netz nicht.12Spricht Jesus zu ihnen: Kommt und haltet das Mahl! Niemand aber unter den Jüngern wagte, ihn zu fragen: Wer bist du? Denn sie wussten: Es ist der Herr.13Da kommt Jesus und nimmt das Brot und gibt’s ihnen, desgleichen auch den Fisch. (Joh 6,11)14Das ist nun das dritte Mal, dass sich Jesus den Jüngern offenbarte, nachdem er von den Toten auferstanden war.
Petrus und der Lieblingsjünger
15Da sie nun das Mahl gehalten hatten, spricht Jesus zu Simon Petrus: Simon, Sohn des Johannes, liebst du mich mehr, als mich diese lieb haben? Er spricht zu ihm: Ja, Herr, du weißt, dass ich dich lieb habe. Spricht Jesus zu ihm: Weide meine Lämmer! (Joh 1,42)16Spricht er zum zweiten Mal zu ihm: Simon, Sohn des Johannes, hast du mich lieb? Er spricht zu ihm: Ja, Herr, du weißt, dass ich dich lieb habe. Spricht Jesus zu ihm: Weide meine Schafe! (1Petr 5,2; 1Petr 5,4)17Spricht er zum dritten Mal zu ihm: Simon, Sohn des Johannes, hast du mich lieb? Petrus wurde traurig, weil er zum dritten Mal zu ihm sagte: Hast du mich lieb?, und sprach zu ihm: Herr, du weißt alle Dinge, du weißt, dass ich dich lieb habe. Spricht Jesus zu ihm: Weide meine Schafe! (Joh 13,38; Joh 16,30)18Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage dir: Als du jünger warst, gürtetest du dich selbst und gingst, wo du hinwolltest; wenn du aber alt bist, wirst du deine Hände ausstrecken und ein anderer wird dich gürten und führen, wo du nicht hinwillst.19Das sagte er aber, um anzuzeigen, mit welchem Tod er Gott preisen würde. Und als er das gesagt hatte, spricht er zu ihm: Folge mir nach! (Joh 13,36)20Petrus aber wandte sich um und sah den Jünger folgen, den Jesus lieb hatte, der auch beim Abendessen an seiner Brust gelegen und gesagt hatte: Herr, wer ist’s, der dich verrät? (Joh 13,23; Joh 13,25)21Als Petrus diesen sah, spricht er zu Jesus: Herr, was wird aber mit diesem?22Jesus spricht zu ihm: Wenn ich will, dass er bleibt, bis ich komme, was geht es dich an? Folge du mir nach!23Da kam unter den Brüdern die Rede auf: Dieser Jünger stirbt nicht. Aber Jesus hatte nicht zu ihm gesagt: Er stirbt nicht, sondern: Wenn ich will, dass er bleibt, bis ich komme, was geht es dich an?24Dies ist der Jünger, der das bezeugt und aufgeschrieben hat, und wir wissen, dass sein Zeugnis wahr ist. (Joh 15,27)25Es sind noch viele andere Dinge, die Jesus getan hat. Wenn aber eins nach dem andern aufgeschrieben werden sollte, so würde, meine ich, die Welt die Bücher nicht fassen, die zu schreiben wären. (Ps 106,2; Joh 20,30)
1Quelque temps après, Jésus se montra encore aux disciples sur les bords du lac de Tibériade[1]. Voici dans quelles circonstances.2Simon Pierre, Thomas appelé le Jumeau, Nathanaël de Cana en Galilée, les fils de Zébédée et deux autres disciples se trouvaient ensemble.3Simon Pierre dit aux autres: Je m’en vais pêcher. – Nous aussi. Nous y allons avec toi, lui dirent-ils. Et les voilà partis. Ils montèrent dans un bateau, mais la nuit s’écoula sans qu’ils attrapent un seul poisson.4Déjà le jour commençait à se lever, et voici: Jésus se tenait debout sur le rivage. Mais les disciples ignoraient que c’était lui.5Il les appela: Hé! les enfants, avez-vous pris du poisson? – Rien, répondirent-ils.6– Jetez le filet du côté droit du bateau, leur dit-il alors, et vous en trouverez. Ils lancèrent donc le filet et ne purent plus le remonter, tellement il y avait de poissons.7Le disciple que Jésus aimait dit alors à Pierre: C’est le Seigneur. En entendant que c’était le Seigneur, Simon Pierre, qui avait enlevé sa tunique pour pêcher, la remit et se jeta à l’eau.8Les autres disciples regagnèrent la rive avec le bateau, en remorquant le filet plein de poissons, car ils n’étaient qu’à une centaine de mètres du rivage.9Une fois descendus à terre, ils aperçurent un feu de braise avec du poisson dessus, et du pain.10Jésus leur dit: Apportez quelques-uns de ces poissons que vous venez de prendre.11Simon Pierre remonta dans le bateau et tira le filet à terre. Il était rempli de cent cinquante-trois gros poissons et, malgré leur grand nombre, le filet ne se déchira pas.12– Venez manger, leur dit Jésus. Aucun des disciples n’osa lui demander: « Qui es-tu? » Ils savaient que c’était le Seigneur.13Jésus s’approcha, prit le pain et le leur distribua, puis il fit de même pour le poisson.14C’était la troisième fois que Jésus se montrait à ses disciples, après sa résurrection.
Jésus et Pierre : l’apôtre rétabli dans sa mission
15Après le repas, Jésus s’adressa à Simon Pierre: Simon, fils de Jean, m’aimes-tu plus que ne le font ceux-ci? – Oui, Seigneur, répondit-il, tu connais mon amour pour toi. Jésus lui dit: Prends soin de mes agneaux.16Puis il lui demanda une deuxième fois: Simon, fils de Jean, m’aimes-tu? – Oui, Seigneur, lui répondit Simon. Tu connais mon amour pour toi. Jésus lui dit: Nourris mes brebis.17Jésus lui demanda une troisième fois: Simon, fils de Jean, as-tu de l’amour pour moi? Pierre fut peiné car c’était la troisième fois que Jésus lui demandait: « As-tu de l’amour pour moi? » Il lui répondit: Seigneur, tu sais tout, tu sais que j’ai de l’amour pour toi. Jésus lui dit: Prends soin de mes brebis.18Vraiment, je te l’assure: quand tu étais plus jeune, tu mettais toi-même ta ceinture et tu allais où tu voulais, mais quand tu seras vieux, tu étendras les bras, un autre nouera ta ceinture et te mènera là où tu n’aimerais pas aller.19Par ces mots, il faisait allusion au genre de mort que Pierre allait endurer à la gloire de Dieu. Après avoir dit cela, il ajouta: Suis-moi!20Pierre se retourna et aperçut le disciple que Jésus aimait; il marchait derrière eux. C’est ce disciple qui, au cours du repas, s’était penché vers Jésus et lui avait demandé: « Seigneur, quel est celui qui va te trahir? »21En le voyant, Pierre demanda à Jésus: Seigneur, qu’en est-il de lui?22Jésus lui répondit: Si je veux qu’il reste en vie jusqu’à ce que je revienne, que t’importe? Toi, suis-moi.23Là-dessus, le bruit courut parmi les frères que ce disciple ne mourrait pas. En fait, Jésus n’avait pas dit qu’il ne mourrait pas, mais seulement: « Si je veux qu’il reste en vie jusqu’à ce que je revienne, que t’importe? »24C’est ce même disciple qui témoigne de ces faits et qui les a écrits. Nous savons que son témoignage est vrai.25Jésus a accompli encore bien d’autres choses. Si on voulait les raconter une à une, je pense que le monde entier ne suffirait pas pour contenir tous les livres qu’il faudrait écrire.

And although there were so many, the net was not torn.12Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” Now none of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. Jesus and Peter
15When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” (Jes 40,11; Mt 16,17; Mt 26,33; Mk 14,29; Lk 22,31; Joh 1,42; Joh 10,11; Joh 21,12)16He said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” (Joh 15,1; Apg 20,28; 1Petr 5,2; Offb 7,17)17He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.
