1Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and brake the images in pieces, and cut down the groves, and threw down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had utterly destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.2And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priests and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, the priests and Levites for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the tents of the LORD.3He appointed also the king' portion of his substance for the burnt offerings, to wit , for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in the law of the LORD.4Moreover he commanded the people that dwelt in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might be encouraged in the law of the LORD.5And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly.6And concerning the children of Israel and Judah, that dwelt in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of holy things which were consecrated unto the LORD their God, and laid them by heaps.7In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month.8And when Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed the LORD, and his people Israel.9Then Hezekiah questioned with the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.10And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the LORD hath blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.11Then Hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of the LORD; and they prepared them ,12And brought in the offerings and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully: over which Cononiah the Levite was ruler, and Shimei his brother was the next.13And Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, were overseers under the hand of Cononiah and Shimei his brother, at the commandment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah the ruler of the house of God.14And Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the porter toward the east, was over the freewill offerings of God, to distribute the oblations of the LORD, and the most holy things.15And next him were Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, in their set office, to give to their brethren by courses, as well to the great as to the small:16Beside their genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even unto every one that entereth into the house of the LORD, his daily portion for their service in their charges according to their courses;17Both to the genealogy of the priests by the house of their fathers, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, in their charges by their courses;18And to the genealogy of all their little ones, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, through all the congregation: for in their set office they sanctified themselves in holiness:19Also of the sons of Aaron the priests, which were in the fields of the suburbs of their cities, in every several city, the men that were expressed by name, to give portions to all the males among the priests, and to all that were reckoned by genealogies among the Levites.20And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the LORD his God.21And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

Danach kehrten alle Kinder Israels wieder zu ihrem Besitztum in ihre Städte zurück. (2Ki 18:4; 2Ki 23:14; 2Ki 23:19; 2Ch 32:12; Mt 6:24)2Hiskia aber stellte die Abteilungen der Priester und der Leviten wieder her, dass jeder wieder seinen Dienst hatte, sowohl die Priester als auch die Leviten, Brandopfer und Friedensopfer darzubringen, zu dienen, zu danken und zu loben in den Toren des Lagers des HERRN. (1Ch 23:6; 1Ch 23:30; 1Ch 24:1)3Auch gab der König einen Teil seiner Habe für die Brandopfer, für die Brandopfer am Morgen und am Abend, und für die Brandopfer an den Sabbaten und Neumonden und Festen, wie es im Gesetz des HERRN vorgeschrieben ist. (Nu 28:1; 2Sa 24:24; Ps 81:5)4Und er gebot dem Volk, das in Jerusalem wohnte, den Priestern und Leviten den ihnen gebührenden Anteil zu geben, damit sie am Gesetz des HERRN festhalten könnten. (Nu 18:8; Nu 18:26; Ne 13:10; Mal 3:8; 1Co 9:9; Ga 6:6)5Als nun dieser Befehl bekannt wurde, gaben die Kinder Israels viele Erstlingsgaben von Korn, Most, Öl, Honig und allem Ertrag des Feldes und brachten die Zehnten von allem in Menge herbei. (Nu 18:12; Nu 18:21; De 14:22; Ne 10:35)6Und auch die Kinder Israels und Judas, die in den Städten Judas wohnten, brachten den Zehnten von Rindern und Schafen und den Zehnten von den geheiligten Dingen, die dem HERRN, ihrem Gott, geheiligt worden waren, und legten es haufenweise hin. (Le 27:30)7Im dritten Monat fingen sie an, die Haufen aufzuschütten, und im siebten Monat waren sie damit fertig.8Als nun Hiskia und die Obersten hineingingen und die Haufen sahen, lobten sie den HERRN und sein Volk Israel. (1Ch 29:9; Ezr 7:27; Ac 21:19; 2Co 9:12; Eph 1:3)9Und Hiskia befragte die Priester und Leviten wegen dieser Haufen. (2Ch 31:5)10Da antwortete ihm Asarja, der Oberpriester aus dem Haus Zadok, und sprach: Seitdem man angefangen hat, das Hebopfer in das Haus des HERRN zu bringen, haben wir gegessen und sind satt geworden und haben noch viel übrig gelassen; denn der HERR hat sein Volk gesegnet; daher ist eine so große Menge übrig geblieben! (1Ch 6:34; Pr 3:9; Mal 3:10; 2Co 9:6)11Da befahl Hiskia, dass man Vorratskammern herrichte im Haus des HERRN; und sie richteten sie her, (Ne 10:38; Ne 13:5; Ne 13:12)12und sie brachten das Hebopfer, die Zehnten und das Geheiligte getreulich hinein. Und als Oberaufseher darüber wurden bestimmt: Kananja, der Levit, und Simei, sein Bruder, als zweiter; (1Ch 26:20; Ne 13:13)13dazu Jechiel, Asasja, Nahat, Asahel, Jerimot, Josabad, Eliel, Jismachja, Mahat und Benaja, als Aufseher unter der Leitung Kananjas und Simeis, seines Bruders, nach dem Befehl des Königs Hiskia und Asarjas, des Obersten im Haus Gottes. (1Ch 9:11; 1Ch 24:5; Ne 11:11)14Und Kore, der Sohn Jimnas, der Levit, der Torhüter gegen Osten, war über die freiwilligen Gaben für Gott gesetzt, um das Hebopfer des HERRN und die hochheiligen Dinge herauszugeben. (Nu 18:9; Nu 29:39)15Und unter seiner Leitung waren Eden, Minjamin, Jeschua, Schemaja, Amarja und Sechanja, um in den Städten der Priester ihren Brüdern abteilungsweise getreulich [ihren Anteil] zu geben, den Kleinen wie den Großen. (Jos 21:9)16Überdies wurden sie in Geschlechtsregister eingetragen, alles, was männlich war, von drei Jahren an und darüber, alle, die in das Haus des HERRN gehen sollten nach der täglichen Ordnung an ihren Dienst auf ihren Posten, nach ihren Abteilungen. (Ex 29:38; Ps 68:20; Da 1:5; Mt 6:11; Lu 9:23; Ac 2:46)17Und zwar erfolgte die Eintragung der Priester nach ihren Vaterhäusern, und die der Leviten von 20 Jahren an und darüber mit Rücksicht auf ihre Ämter, die sie abteilungsweise zu versehen hatten. (1Ch 23:1)18Und sie hatten sich einzutragen samt ihren Kindern, ihren Frauen, ihren Söhnen und Töchtern, als ganze Gemeinde; denn getreulich heiligten sie sich für das Heiligtum.19Und für die Söhne Aarons, die Priester, [die] in den zu ihren Stadtbezirken gehörenden Ländereien [wohnten], gab es in jeder Stadt mit Namen bezeichnete Leute, welche die Austeilung an die männlichen Glieder der Priesterfamilien und an alle, die in die levitischen Geschlechtsregister eingetragen waren, zu besorgen hatten. (Le 25:34; Nu 35:2)20So handelte Hiskia in ganz Juda, und er tat, was gut, recht und getreu war vor dem HERRN, seinem Gott. (2Ki 20:3; 2Ch 14:1; Ps 143:10; Joh 1:47; Ac 24:16; Php 4:8; 1Th 2:10)21Und in all seinem Werk, das er im Dienst des Hauses Gottes und nach dem Gesetz und Gebot unternahm, um seinen Gott zu suchen, handelte er von ganzem Herzen, und so gelang es ihm auch.
