1 A Psalm of David, Maschil. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. 2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. 3 When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. 4 For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. 5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. 6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. 7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. 8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. 9 Be ye not as the horse, or as the mule, which have no understanding: whose mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest they come near unto thee. 10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about. 11 Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

Das Glück der Vergebung

1 Ein Lehrgedicht von David. Wie glücklich ist der, / dem die Verfehlung vergeben / und die Sünde zugedeckt ist! 2 Glücklich der Mensch, / dem Jahwe die Schuld nicht zumisst,^[1] / und dessen Geist frei ist von Betrug! (Ro 4:7) 3 Solange ich schwieg, / verfiel auch mein Leib, / denn unaufhörlich schrie es in mir. 4 Du hattest deine Hand schwer auf mich gelegt – bei Tag und bei Nacht, / und das hörte nicht auf. / Mein Lebensmut verdorrte in der Sommerglut. ♪ 5 Da endlich bekannte ich dir meine Schuld / und verschwieg mein Unrecht nicht länger vor dir. / Da sprach ich es aus: / „Ich will meine Vergehen bekennen, Jahwe.“ / Und du, du hast mich befreit von der Schuld, / hast die Sünden vergeben, / das Böse bedeckt. ♪ 6 Darum: Wer dich liebt, / der bete, wann immer er dich antreffen kann. / Wenn dann die gewaltige Flut einbricht, / ihm wird das Wasser nichts tun. 7 Bei dir bin ich sicher geborgen, / beschützt in jeder Gefahr / und vom Jubel der Rettung umschallt. ♪ 8 Ich will dich belehren / und ich zeig dir den richtigen Weg. / Ich will dich beraten / und ich behalte dich im Blick. 9 Sei nicht wie ein Pferd und wie ein Maultier ohne Verstand, / deren Wildheit du bändigen musst mit Zügel und Zaum, / sonst folgen sie nicht. 10 Wer ohne Gott lebt, schafft sich viel Schmerz; / doch wer Jahwe vertraut, wird von Güte umhüllt. 11 Freut euch an Jahwe und jubelt, ihr Gerechten! / Seid fröhlich, die ihr von Herzen aufrichtig seid!

Joie du pardon

1 Méditation^[1] de David. Heureux l’homme ╵dont la faute est effacée, et le péché pardonné! 2 Heureux l’homme ╵au compte de qui ╵l’Eternel ╵ne porte pas le péché^[2] et qui est exempt ╵de duplicité! (Ro 4:7) 3 Tant que je taisais ma faute, je m’épuisais à gémir ╵sans cesse, à longueur de jour. 4 Sur moi, le jour et la nuit, ╵ta main s’appesantissait, ma vigueur m’abandonnait ╵comme l’herbe se dessèche ╵lors des ardeurs de l’été. Pause 5 Je t’ai avoué ma faute, je n’ai plus caché mes torts, j’ai dit: « Je reconnaîtrai ╵devant l’Eternel ╵les péchés que j’ai commis. » Alors tu m’as déchargé ╵du poids de ma faute. Pause 6 Ainsi, que tout homme ╵qui t’est attaché ╵te prie au temps opportun. Si les grandes eaux déferlent, leurs flots ne l’atteignent pas. 7 Tu es un abri pour moi, ╵tu me gardes du danger. Autour de moi retentissent ╵les chants de la délivrance. Pause 8 Tu as dit: « Je t’instruirai, ╵je t’indiquerai ╵le chemin ╵que tu devras emprunter, je serai ton conseiller, ╵mes yeux veilleront sur toi. 9 Ne soyez donc pas stupides ╵comme un cheval, un mulet ╵dépourvus d’intelligence dont il faut dompter la fougue ╵par la bride et par le mors sans quoi ils ne viendront pas vers toi^[3]! » 10 Ils sont nombreux les tourments ╵qui attendent les méchants, mais les hommes qui ont mis ╵leur confiance en l’Eternel ╵sont comblés par son amour. 11 Justes, réjouissez-vous! ╵Mettez votre joie en l’Eternel et poussez des cris de joie, ╵vous qui êtes droits de cœur!
