1 The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying, 2 Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink. 3 Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites; 4 And I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door: 5 And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine, and cups, and I said unto them, Drink ye wine. 6 But they said, We will drink no wine: for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, neither ye , nor your sons for ever: 7 Neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any : but all your days ye shall dwell in tents; that ye may live many days in the land where ye be strangers. 8 Thus have we obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters; 9 Nor to build houses for us to dwell in: neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed: 10 But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us. 11 But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians: so we dwell at Jerusalem. 12 Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying, 13 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the LORD. 14 The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed; for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father' commandment: notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me. 15 I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them , saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me. 16 Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them; but this people hath not hearkened unto me: 17 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have pronounced against them: because I have spoken unto them, but they have not heard; and I have called unto them, but they have not answered. 18 And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according unto all that he hath commanded you: 19 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want a man to stand before me for ever.

Der Gehorsam der Rechabiter

1 Dies ist das Wort, das vom HERRN geschah zu Jeremia zur Zeit Jojakims, des Sohnes Josias, des Königs von Juda: (Jer 1:3) 2 Geh in das Haus der Rechabiter, rede mit ihnen und führe sie in des HERRN Haus, in eine der Kammern, und schenke ihnen Wein ein. (1Ch 2:55) 3 Da nahm ich Jaasanja, den Sohn Jirmejas, des Sohnes Habazzinjas, samt seinen Brüdern und allen seinen Söhnen, und das ganze Haus der Rechabiter 4 und führte sie in des HERRN Haus, in die Kammer der Söhne Hanans, des Sohnes Jigdaljas, des Mannes Gottes, die neben der Kammer der Oberen ist, über der Kammer Maasejas, des Sohnes Schallums, des Torhüters. 5 Und ich setzte den Männern vom Hause der Rechabiter Krüge voll Wein und Schalen vor und sprach zu ihnen: Trinkt Wein! 6 Sie aber antworteten: Wir trinken keinen Wein; denn unser Vater Jonadab, der Sohn Rechabs, hat uns geboten: Ihr sollt niemals Wein trinken, weder ihr noch eure Kinder, (2Ki 10:15) 7 auch kein Haus bauen, keinen Samen säen, keinen Weinberg pflanzen noch besitzen, sondern ihr sollt in Zelten wohnen euer Leben lang, auf dass ihr lange lebet in dem Lande, in dem ihr umherzieht. 8 Also gehorchen wir der Stimme unseres Vaters Jonadab, des Sohnes Rechabs, in allem, was er uns geboten hat, dass wir keinen Wein trinken unser Leben lang, weder wir noch unsere Frauen noch unsere Söhne und Töchter; 9 und wir bauen auch keine Häuser, darin zu wohnen, und haben weder Weinberge noch Äcker noch Saat, 10 sondern wir wohnen in Zelten und gehorchen und tun in allem, wie es unser Vater Jonadab geboten hat. 11 Als aber Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, gegen das Land heraufzog, sprachen wir: Kommt, lasst uns nach Jerusalem ziehen vor dem Heer der Chaldäer und der Aramäer! So sind wir in Jerusalem geblieben. 12 Da geschah des HERRN Wort zu Jeremia: 13 So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Geh hin und sprich zu den Männern von Juda und zu den Bürgern von Jerusalem: Wollt ihr euch denn nicht bessern und meinen Worten gehorchen?, spricht der HERR. 14 Die Worte Jonadabs, des Sohnes Rechabs, der seinen Kindern geboten hat, dass sie keinen Wein trinken sollen, werden gehalten, und sie trinken keinen Wein bis auf diesen Tag; denn sie gehorchen ihres Vaters Gebot. Ich aber habe euch immer wieder predigen lassen, doch gehorchtet ihr mir nicht. (Jer 25:4) 15 Ich habe auch immer wieder alle meine Knechte, die Propheten, zu euch gesandt und sagen lassen: Kehrt um, ein jeder von seinem bösen Wege, und bessert euer Tun und folgt nicht andern Göttern nach, ihnen zu dienen, so sollt ihr in dem Lande bleiben, das ich euch und euren Vätern gegeben habe. Aber ihr wolltet eure Ohren nicht neigen und mir nicht gehorchen. (Jer 7:25; Jer 18:11; Zec 1:4) 16 Ja, die Kinder Jonadabs, des Sohnes Rechabs, haben ihres Vaters Gebot gehalten, das er ihnen geboten hat. Aber dies Volk gehorcht mir nicht! 17 Darum, so spricht der HERR, der Gott Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich will über Juda und über alle Bürger Jerusalems kommen lassen all das Unheil, das ich gegen sie geredet habe, weil ich zu ihnen redete und sie nicht hören wollten, weil ich rief und sie mir nicht antworten wollten. (Jer 7:13) 18 Aber zum Haus der Rechabiter sprach Jeremia: So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Weil ihr dem Gebot eures Vaters Jonadab gehorcht habt und alle seine Gebote gehalten und alles getan, was er euch geboten hat, 19 darum, so spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Es soll dem Jonadab, dem Sohn Rechabs, niemals an einem Manne fehlen, der vor mir steht.
