1 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown. 3 Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD. 4 Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel: 5 Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain? 6 Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt? 7 And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination. 8 The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit. 9 Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children' children will I plead. 10 For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there be such a thing. 11 Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit. 12 Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD. 13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. 14 Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave ? why is he spoiled? 15 The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant. 16 Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of thy head. 17 Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, when he led thee by the way? 18 And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river? 19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts. 20 For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot. 21 Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me? 22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD. 23 How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways; 24 A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her. 25 Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go. 26 As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets, 27 Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us. 28 But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah. 29 Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the LORD. 30 In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion. 31 O generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness? wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee? 32 Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number. 33 Why trimmest thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught the wicked ones thy ways. 34 Also in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these. 35 Yet thou sayest, Because I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned. 36 Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria. 37 Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: for the LORD hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them.

1 Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir: 2 Geh hin und predige Jerusalem öffentlich und sprich: So spricht der HERR: Ich gedenke der Treue deiner Jugend und der Liebe deiner Brautzeit, wie du mir folgtest in der Wüste, im Lande, da man nicht sät. (De 2:7; Ho 2:16; Ho 13:5) 3 Da war Israel dem HERRN heilig, die Erstlingsfrucht seiner Ernte. Wer davon essen wollte, machte sich schuldig, und Unheil musste über ihn kommen, spricht der HERR. (De 7:6; De 26:19) 4 Hört des HERRN Wort, ihr vom Hause Jakob und alle Geschlechter vom Hause Israel! 5 So spricht der HERR: Was haben doch eure Väter Unrechtes an mir gefunden, dass sie von mir wichen und hingen den nichtigen Götzen an und wurden so zunichte (Mic 6:3) 6 und dachten niemals: Wo ist der HERR, der uns aus Ägyptenland führte und leitete uns in der Wüste, im wilden, ungebahnten Lande, im dürren und finstern Lande, im Lande, das niemand durchwandert und kein Mensch bewohnt? (De 8:15) 7 Und ich brachte euch in ein fruchtbares Land, dass ihr äßet seine Früchte und Güter. Aber als ihr hineinkamt, machtet ihr mein Land unrein und mein Eigentum mir zum Gräuel. (De 6:10; Jud 2:1; Jer 3:1) 8 Die Priester fragten nicht: Wo ist der HERR?, und die Hüter des Gesetzes achteten meiner nicht, und die Hirten wurden mir untreu, und die Propheten weissagten im Namen des Baal und hingen den Götzen an, die nicht helfen können. (Jer 5:31) 9 Darum muss ich noch weiter mit euch und mit euren Kindeskindern rechten, spricht der HERR. (Mic 6:2) 10 Denn geht hin zu den Inseln der Kittäer und schaut, und sendet nach Kedar und gebt genau acht und schaut, ob’s daselbst so zugeht: 11 ob die Heiden ihre Götter wechseln, die doch keine Götter sind. Aber mein Volk hat seine Herrlichkeit eingetauscht gegen einen Götzen, der nicht helfen kann! (Ro 1:23) 12 Entsetze dich, Himmel, darüber, erschrick und erbebe gar sehr, spricht der HERR. 13 Denn mein Volk tut eine zwiefache Sünde: Mich, die lebendige Quelle, verlassen sie und machen sich Zisternen, die doch rissig sind und das Wasser nicht halten. (Ps 36:10; Jer 17:13) 14 Ist denn Israel ein Sklave oder unfrei geboren? Warum ist er zum Raub geworden? 15 Löwen brüllten über ihm, brüllten laut und verwüsteten sein Land. Seine Städte sind verbrannt, sodass niemand darin wohnt. (Jer 4:7) 16 Dazu scheren die Leute von Memphis und Tachpanhes dir den Kopf kahl. 17 Das alles hast du dir doch selbst bereitet, weil du den HERRN, deinen Gott, verlässt, sooft er dich den rechten Weg leiten will. 18 Was hilft’s dir, dass du nach Ägypten ziehst und willst vom Nil trinken? Und was hilft’s dir, dass du nach Assyrien ziehst und willst vom Euphrat trinken? (Isa 31:1; Jer 36:1) 19 Deine Bosheit ist schuld, dass du so geschlagen wirst, und dein Ungehorsam, dass du so gestraft wirst. Und du musst innewerden und erfahren, was es für Jammer und Herzeleid bringt, den HERRN, deinen Gott, zu verlassen und mich nicht zu fürchten, spricht Gott, der HERR Zebaoth. 20 Denn von jeher hast du dein Joch zerbrochen und deine Bande zerrissen und gesagt: Ich will nicht unterworfen sein! Sondern auf allen hohen Hügeln und unter allen grünen Bäumen triebst du Hurerei. (1Ki 14:23; Isa 57:5; Eze 6:13) 21 Ich aber hatte dich gepflanzt als einen edlen Weinstock, ein ganz echtes Gewächs. Wie bist du mir denn geworden zu einem schlechten, wilden Weinstock? (Ps 80:9; Isa 5:1) 22 Und wenn du dich auch mit Lauge wüschest und nähmest viel Seife dazu, so bleibt doch der Schmutz deiner Schuld vor mir, spricht Gott der HERR. 23 Wie wagst du denn zu sagen: Ich bin nicht unrein, ich habe mich nicht an die Baale gehängt? Sieh doch, wie du es treibst im Tal, und bedenke, was du getan hast! Du läufst kreuz und quer wie eine schnelle Kamelstute, 24 wie eine Wildeselin in der Wüste, wenn sie vor großer Brunst lechzt und läuft, dass niemand sie aufhalten kann. Wer sie haben will, muss nicht weit laufen; er trifft sie zur Zeit ihrer Brunst. 25 Schone doch deine Füße, dass sie nicht wund werden, und deine Kehle, dass sie nicht durstig werde. Aber du sprachst: Da wird nichts draus; ich muss die Fremden lieben und ihnen nachlaufen. (Jer 18:12) 26 Wie Schande über einen Dieb kommt, wenn man ihn ergreift, so ist Schande über das Haus Israel gekommen samt seinen Königen, Fürsten, Priestern und Propheten, 27 die zum Holz sagen: »Du bist mein Vater«, und zum Stein: »Du hast mich geboren.« Denn sie kehren mir den Rücken zu und nicht das Angesicht. Aber wenn die Not über sie kommt, sprechen sie: »Auf und hilf uns!« (Jer 7:24; Jer 18:17; Jer 32:33) 28 Wo sind denn deine Götter, die du dir gemacht hast? Lass sie aufstehen; lass sehen, ob sie dir helfen können in deiner Not! Denn so viel Städte, so viel Götter hast du, Juda. (De 32:37; Jud 10:14; Jer 11:13) 29 Wie könnt ihr rechten mit mir? Ihr seid alle von mir abgefallen, spricht der HERR. 30 Alle meine Schläge sind vergeblich an euren Kindern, sie lassen sich doch nicht erziehen; euer Schwert frisst eure Propheten wie ein wütender Löwe. (Isa 1:5; Mt 22:6; Mt 23:37; Mr 12:5)

31 Du böses Geschlecht, merke auf des HERRN Wort! Bin ich denn für Israel eine Wüste oder ein finsteres Land? Warum spricht denn mein Volk: »Wir streifen frei umher und brauchen dir nicht mehr nachzulaufen«? 32 Vergisst wohl eine Jungfrau ihren Schmuck oder eine Braut ihren Schleier? Mein Volk aber vergisst mich seit endlos langer Zeit. (De 32:18; Jer 18:15) 33 Wie fein findest du Wege, dir Liebhaber zu suchen! Darum hast du dich auch gewöhnt, auf bösen Wegen zu wandeln. 34 Auch fand man an deinen Kleidern das Blut von Armen und Unschuldigen, die du nicht beim Einbruch ertappt hast, sondern die alledem widerstanden. (Jer 7:6) 35 Und doch sprachst du: Ich bin unschuldig; er hat ja doch seinen Zorn von mir gewandt. Siehe, ich will dich richten, weil du sprichst: Ich habe nicht gesündigt. (Isa 43:26) 36 Was läufst du denn so leichtfertig bald dahin, bald dorthin! Auch an Ägypten wirst du zuschanden werden, wie du an Assyrien zuschanden geworden bist. (Isa 30:3; Ho 7:11) 37 Denn du musst auch von dort wegziehen, die Hände über dem Kopf; denn der HERR hat sie verworfen, auf die du deine Hoffnung setztest, und es wird dir nicht mit ihnen gelingen.
