1A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;2To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.3Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.4Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.5My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:6When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.7Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.8My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.9But those that seek my soul, to destroy it , shall go into the lower parts of the earth.10They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.11But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.

Es dürstet nach dir meine Seele, nach dir schmachtet mein Fleisch in einem dürren und erschöpften Land ohne Wasser. (Ps 5:4; Ps 43:4; Jer 31:14)3So schaue ich im Heiligtum nach dir, um deine Macht und deine Herrlichkeit zu sehen. (Ps 42:2; Ps 68:25)4Denn deine Gnade ist besser als Leben; meine Lippen werden dich rühmen.5So werde ich dich preisen während meines Lebens, meine Hände in deinem Namen aufheben. (Ps 96:6)6Wie von Mark und Fett wird meine Seele gesättigt werden, und mit jubelnden Lippen wird mein Mund loben, (Ps 104:33)7wenn ich deiner gedenke auf meinem Lager, über dich nachdenke in den Nachtwachen.8Denn du bist mir zur Hilfe geworden, und im Schatten deiner Flügel kann ich jubeln.9Meine Seele hängt an dir[1], deine Rechte hält mich aufrecht. (Ps 18:36; 1Co 6:17)10Jene aber, die ⟨mir⟩ zum Verderben[2] nach meinem Leben trachten, werden in die Tiefen der Erde hinsinken.11Man wird sie[3] der Gewalt des Schwertes preisgeben, der Anteil der Schakale werden sie sein. (Ps 44:20; Jer 18:21)12Und der König wird sich freuen in Gott; jeder darf sich rühmen, der bei ihm schwört; denn der Mund der Lügenredner wird verstopft werden. (De 6:13; Ps 31:19)
