Psalm 104

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. 

2 Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: 

3 Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind: 

4 Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire: 

5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. 

6 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. 

7 At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away. 

8 They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them. 

9 Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth. 

10 He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills. 

11 They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst. 

12 By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches. 

13 He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works. 

14 He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; 

15 And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man' heart. 

16 The trees of the LORD are full of sap ; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted; 

17 Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house. 

18 The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies. 

19 He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down. 

20 Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth . 

21 The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God. 

22 The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens. 

23 Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening. 

24 O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches. 

25 So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts. 

26 There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein. 

27 These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season. 

28 That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good. 

29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust. 

30 Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth. 

31 The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works. 

32 He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke. 

33 I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. 

34 My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD. 

35 Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.

1 Preise den HERRN, meine Seele! HERR, mein Gott, du bist sehr groß, mit Majestät und Pracht bist du bekleidet. (Ps 93:1; Ps 95:3; Ps 103:1; Ps 104:35) 

2 ⟨Du,⟩ der in Licht sich hüllt wie in ein Gewand, der den Himmel ausspannt gleich einer Zeltdecke, (Isa 40:22; 1Jo 1:5) 

3 der seine Obergemächer errichtet in den Wassern, der Wolken macht zu seinem Wagen, der einherzieht auf den Flügeln des Windes, (De 33:26; Ps 18:11; Ps 148:4; Isa 19:1; Am 9:6) 

4 der Winde zu seinen Boten macht, Feuer und Lohe zu seinen Dienern: (Heb 1:7) 

5 Er hat die Erde gegründet auf ihre Grundfesten. Sie wird nicht wanken immer und ewig. (Ps 119:90; Pr 8:29; Ec 1:4) 

6 Die Flut bedeckte sie wie ein Kleid, das Wasser stand über den Bergen. 

7 Vor deinem Schelten floh es, vor dem Schall deines Donners wurde es fortgetrieben. 

8 Die Berge erhoben sich, es senkten sich die Täler an den Ort, den du ihnen bestimmt hattest. (Pr 8:25) 

9 Du hast eine Grenze gesetzt, die überschreitet es nicht. Es wird nicht zurückkehren, die Erde zu bedecken. 

10 ⟨Du,⟩ der Quellen entsendet in die Täler: Zwischen den Bergen fließen sie dahin. (De 8:7) 

11 Sie tränken alle Tiere des Feldes, die Wildesel stillen ihren Durst. 

12 An ihnen wohnen die Vögel des Himmels, aus dichtem Laub lassen sie ihre Stimme erschallen. 

13 ⟨Du,⟩ der die Berge tränkt aus seinen Obergemächern: von der Frucht deiner Werke wird die Erde gesättigt. (Ps 65:10; Jer 10:13) 

14 Der Gras hervorsprossen lässt für das Vieh und Pflanzen zum Dienst des Menschen, damit er Brot hervorbringe aus der Erde (Ge 1:12; Ge 1:29; Ps 147:8; Mr 4:28; Jas 5:18) 

15 und Wein, der des Menschen Herz erfreut; damit er das Angesicht glänzend mache vom Öl und Brot des Menschen Herz stärke. (Jud 9:13; Ec 10:19; Isa 55:10; Zec 10:7) 

16 Es werden gesättigt die Bäume des HERRN, die Zedern des Libanon, die er gepflanzt hat, (Nu 24:6) 

17 wo die Vögel nisten; der Storch – Wacholderbäume sind sein Nest. (Eze 31:6) 

18 Die hohen Berge sind für die Steinböcke, die Felsen eine Zuflucht für die Klippdachse. (Pr 30:26) 

19 Er hat den Mond gemacht zur Zeitbestimmung, die Sonne kennt ihren Untergang. 

20 Du bestellst Finsternis, und es wird Nacht. In ihr regen sich alle Tiere des Waldes. (Ps 74:16) 

21 Die Junglöwen brüllen nach Raub, sie fordern von Gott ihre Speise. (Job 38:39) 

22 Geht die Sonne auf, ziehen sie sich zurück und lagern sich in ihren Verstecken. (Job 37:8) 

23 Der Mensch geht aus an sein Werk, an seine Arbeit bis zum Abend. 

24 Wie zahlreich sind deine Werke, HERR! Du hast sie alle mit Weisheit gemacht, die Erde ist voll deines Eigentums. (Ps 92:6; Pr 3:19; Jer 10:12) 

25 Da ist das Meer, groß und ausgedehnt nach allen Seiten. Dort ist ein Gewimmel ohne Zahl: Tiere klein und groß. (Ge 1:20) 

26 Da ziehen Schiffe einher, der Leviatan, den du gebildet hast, um mit ihm zu spielen. (Ps 107:23) 

27 Sie alle warten auf dich, dass du ihnen ihre Speise gibst zu seiner Zeit. (Ps 136:25; Ps 145:15; Lu 12:6) 

28 Du gibst ihnen: Sie sammeln ein. Du tust deine Hand auf: Sie werden gesättigt mit Gutem. (Ps 145:16; Mt 14:20) 

29 Du verbirgst dein Angesicht: Sie erschrecken. Du nimmst ihren Lebensatem weg: Sie vergehen und werden wieder zu Staub. (Ps 90:3) 

30 Du sendest deinen Lebenshauch aus: Sie werden geschaffen; du erneuerst die Flächen des Ackers. (Job 33:4; Ac 17:25) 

31 Die Herrlichkeit des HERRN sei ewig! Der HERR freue sich seiner Werke! (Ro 11:36) 

32 Der die Erde anschaut, und sie bebt; er rührt die Berge an, und sie rauchen. (Ex 19:18; Ps 77:19; Ps 144:5; Na 1:5) 

33 Singen will ich dem HERRN mein Leben lang, ich will meinem Gott spielen, solange ich bin. (Ps 63:5; Ps 146:2) 

34 Möge ihm gefallen meine Rede! Ich, ich freue mich in dem HERRN! (Ps 19:15; Ps 35:9; Ps 105:3; Hab 3:18) 

35 Die Sünder sollen verschwinden von der Erde und die Gottlosen nicht mehr sein. Preise den HERRN, meine Seele! Halleluja! (1Ch 16:8; Ps 104:1; Ps 145:20; Pr 2:22; Isa 13:9)
