Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am , and none else beside me.11Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.12Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.13Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.14Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.15Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.

Du hast ihnen kein Erbarmen erwiesen, auf den Greis legtest du schwer dein Joch. (De 28:50; 2Ch 36:17; Ezr 5:12; La 4:16; Zec 1:12)7Und du sagtest: Auf ewig werde ich Herrin sein, für immer! Du nahmst dir dies nicht zu Herzen, das Ende davon bedachtest du nicht. (Ex 7:23; De 32:29; La 1:9; Re 18:7)8Und nun höre dies, du Wollüstige, die in Sicherheit wohnt, die in ihrem Herzen sagt: Ich, und sonst gar nichts! Ich werde nicht als Witwe sitzen noch Kinderlosigkeit kennen! (Eze 16:49; Da 4:27; Zep 2:15)9Dies beides wird über dich kommen in einem Augenblick, an einem einzigen Tag: Kinderlosigkeit und Witwenschaft. In vollem Maße kommen sie über dich trotz der Menge deiner Zaubereien, trotz der gewaltigen Fülle deiner Bannsprüche. (Na 3:4; Re 18:7)10Aber du vertrautest auf deine Bosheit. Du sagtest: Niemand sieht mich. Deine Weisheit und dein Wissen, das hat dich irregeführt. Und du sagtest in deinem Herzen: Ich, und sonst gar nichts! (Ps 94:7; Ec 8:8; Isa 29:15; Eze 8:12; Da 4:27; Zep 2:15)11So kommt Unheil über dich, gegen das du keinen Zauber kennst. Und ein Verderben wird über dich herfallen, das du nicht abwenden[4] kannst. Und plötzlich wird ein Sturm[5] über dich kommen, den du nicht ahnst. – (Da 5:25)12Tritt doch auf mit deinen Bannsprüchen und mit der Menge deiner Zaubereien, mit denen du dich abgemüht[6] hast von deiner Jugend an! Vielleicht kannst du Hilfe schaffen, vielleicht wirst du Schrecken einflößen. (Isa 19:3; Eze 21:26)13Du bist müde geworden durch die Menge deiner Beratungen. Sie sollen doch auftreten und dich retten, die Himmelszerleger, die Sternebeschauer, die an jedem Neumond wissen lassen, was[7] über dich kommen soll! (Isa 44:25; Da 2:2)14Siehe, sie sind wie Strohstoppeln geworden, Feuer hat sie verbrannt! Vor der Gewalt der Flamme haben sie ihr Leben nicht gerettet – es gab keine Kohle, um sich zu wärmen, ⟨kein⟩ Feuer, um davor zu sitzen. (Na 1:10)15So sind dir die geworden, für die du dich abgemüht hast, deine Handelspartner[8] von deiner Jugend an. Sie taumeln, jeder nach seiner Seite hin; niemand rettet dich[9]. (Re 18:15)
