1Wenn ein Rechtsstreit zwischen Männern entsteht und sie vor Gericht treten, und man richtet sie, dann soll man den Gerechten gerecht sprechen und den Schuldigen schuldig. (De 16:18; De 17:9; Pr 17:15; Isa 5:20; La 3:35)2Und es soll geschehen, wenn der Schuldige Schläge verdient hat, dann soll der Richter ihn hinlegen und ihm in seiner Gegenwart nach ⟨der festgesetzten⟩ Zahl Schläge geben ⟨lassen⟩, seiner Schuld entsprechend. (Lu 12:47; Ac 5:40)3Vierzig ⟨Schläge⟩ darf er ihm geben ⟨lassen⟩ – nicht mehr –, damit nicht, wenn er fortfährt, ihn über diese hinaus mit vielen Schlägen zu schlagen, dein Bruder in deinen Augen entehrt wird. Schwagerehe
5Wenn Brüder zusammen wohnen und einer von ihnen stirbt und hat keinen Sohn, dann soll die Frau des Verstorbenen nicht auswärts einem fremden Mann angehören. Ihr Schwager soll zu ihr eingehen und sie sich zur Frau nehmen und mit ihr die Schwagerehe vollziehen. (Mt 22:24)6Und es soll geschehen: Der Erstgeborene, den sie ⟨dann⟩ gebiert, soll den Namen seines verstorbenen Bruders weiterführen[2], damit dessen Name aus Israel nicht ausgelöscht wird. (Ge 38:8; Ru 4:10)7Wenn aber der Mann keine Lust hat, seine Schwägerin zu nehmen, dann soll seine Schwägerin ins Tor hinaufgehen zu den Ältesten und soll sagen: Mein Schwager weigert sich, seinem Bruder den Namen in Israel aufrechtzuerhalten; er will die Schwagerehe mit mir nicht eingehen. (Ru 4:2)8Und die Ältesten seiner Stadt sollen ihn rufen und mit ihm reden. Doch stellt er sich dann hin und sagt: Ich habe keine Lust, sie zu nehmen, (Ru 4:6)9dann soll seine Schwägerin vor den Augen der Ältesten zu ihm hintreten und ihm den Schuh von seinem Fuß abziehen und ihm ins Gesicht spucken. Und sie soll antworten und sagen: So soll dem Mann geschehen, der das Haus seines Bruders nicht bauen will! (Nu 12:14; Ru 4:6)10Und sein Name soll in Israel heißen »Haus des Barfüßers«.
Warnung vor unzüchtigem Verhalten und falschen Gewichten
11Wenn Männer miteinander raufen, ein Mann und sein Bruder, und die Frau des einen eilt herbei, um ihren Mann aus der Hand dessen, der ihn schlägt, zu retten, und sie streckt ihre Hand aus und greift an seine Geschlechtsteile[3],12dann sollst du ihr die Hand abhauen; du sollst nicht schonen[4]. (De 13:9)13Du sollst nicht zweierlei Gewichtsteine in deinem Beutel haben, einen großen und einen kleinen.14Du sollst nicht zweierlei Efa in deinem Haus haben, ein großes und ein kleines.15Vollen und gerechten Gewichtstein sollst du haben, und volles und gerechtes Efa sollst du haben, damit deine Tage lange währen in dem Land, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir gibt. (Le 19:35; De 4:40; Am 8:5)16Denn ein Gräuel für den HERRN, deinen Gott, ist jeder, der dieses tut, jeder, der Unrecht tut. (Pr 11:1; Mic 6:10)
Gebot der Ausrottung der Amalekiter
17Denk daran, was Amalek dir getan hat auf dem Weg, als ihr aus Ägypten zogt,18wie er dir auf dem Weg entgegentrat und deine Nachzügler schlug[5], alle Schwachen hinter dir, als du erschöpft und müde warst, und dass er Gott nicht fürchtete. (Ex 17:8; Ro 3:18)19Und wenn der HERR, dein Gott, dir Ruhe verschafft hat vor allen deinen Feinden ringsum in dem Land, das der HERR, dein Gott, dir als Erbteil gibt, es in Besitz zu nehmen, dann sollst du die Erwähnung Amaleks unter dem Himmel auslöschen. Vergiss es nicht! (Ex 17:14; De 3:18)
