1 Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover. 

2 And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people. 

3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. 

4 And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them. 

5 And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money. 

6 And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude. 

7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed. 

8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat. 

9 And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare? 

10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in. 

11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? 

12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready. 

13 And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover. 

14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. 

15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: 

16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. 

17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: 

18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. 

19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. 

20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. 

21 But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table. 

22 And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed! 

23 And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing. 

24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest. 

25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. 

26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. 

27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. 

28 Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. 

29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me; 

30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 

31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 

32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. 

33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death. 

34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me. 

35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing. 

36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one. 

37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end. 

38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough. 

39 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him. 

40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. 

41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, 

42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. 

43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. 

44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. 

45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow, 

46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. 

47 And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him. 

48 But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss? 

49 When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword? 

50 And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. 

51 And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him. 

52 Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves? 

53 When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness. 

54 Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off. 

55 And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them. 

56 But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him. 

57 And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not. 

58 And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not. 

59 And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean. 

60 And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew. 

61 And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. 

62 And Peter went out, and wept bitterly. 

63 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him. 

64 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee? 

65 And many other things blasphemously spake they against him. 

66 And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying, 

67 Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe: 

68 And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go. 

69 Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God. 

70 Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am. 

71 And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.

Предателството на Юда

1 А наближаваше празникът на безквасните хлябове, който се нарича Пасха. (Mt 26:1; Mt 26:2; Mt 26:14; Mr 14:1; Mr 14:2; Mr 14:10; Joh 11:45) 

2 И главните свещеници и книжниците обмисляха как да Го погубят, защото се бояха от народа. (Ps 2:2; Joh 11:47; Ac 4:27) 

3 Тогава Сатана влезе в Юда, наречен Искариотски, който се числеше към дванадесетте; (Mt 26:14; Mr 14:10; Joh 13:2; Joh 13:27) 

4 и той отиде и се наговори с главните свещеници и началниците на стражата как да им Го предаде. 

5 И те се зарадваха и се споразумяха да му дадат пари. (Zec 11:12) 

6 А той се съгласи и търсеше сгоден случай да Го предаде, когато не се е събрало множество. 

Тайната вечеря

8 Исус изпрати Петър и Йоан и каза: Идете и ни пригответе, за да ядем Пасхата. 

9 А те Го попитаха: Къде искаш да приготвим? 

10 А той им каза: Ето, като влезете в града, ще ви срещне човек, който носи стомна с вода; идете след него в къщата, в която влезе, 

11 и кажете на стопанина на къщата: Учителят ти казва: Къде е гостната стая, в която ще ям Пасхата с учениците Си? 

12 И той ще ви посочи голяма горна стая, постлана; там пригответе. 

13 След като отидоха, намериха всичко, както им беше казал; и приготвиха Пасхата. 

14 И като дойде часът, Той седна на трапезата, и апостолите с Него. (Mt 26:20; Mr 14:17) 

15 И им каза: Твърде много съм желал да ям тази Пасха с вас, преди да пострадам; 

16 защото ви казвам, че няма вече да я ям, докато това не се изпълни в Божието царство. (Lu 14:15; Ac 10:41; Re 19:9) 

17 И като взе чаша, благодари на Бога и каза: Вземете това и го разделете помежду си; 

18 защото ви казвам, че няма вече да пия от плода на лозата, докато не дойде Божието царство. (Mt 26:29; Mr 14:25) 

19 И взе хляб и като благодари на Бога, разчупи го, даде им и каза Това е Моето тяло, което се дава за вас; това правете за Мое възпоменание. (Mt 26:26; Mr 14:22; 1Co 11:24) 

20 Така взе и чашата след вечерята и каза: Тази чаша е новият завет в Моята кръв, която за вас се пролива. (1Co 10:16)

23 И те започнаха да се питат помежду си кой ли от тях ще е този, който ще направи това. (Mt 26:22; Joh 13:22; Joh 13:25) 

Спорът за първенство сред учениците

24 Стана още и препирня помежду им кой от тях да бъде смятан за по-голям. (Mr 9:34; Lu 9:46) 

25 А той им каза: Царете на народите господаруват над тях и тези, които ги владеят, се наричат благодетели. (Mt 20:25; Mr 10:42) 

26 Но вие недейте така; а по-големият между вас нека стане като по-малкия и който началства – като онзи, който слугува. (Mt 20:26; Lu 9:48; 1Pe 5:3) 

27 Защото кой е по-голям: този, който седи на трапезата ли, или онзи, който слугува? Не е ли този, който седи на трапезата? Но Аз съм сред вас като онзи, който слугува. (Mt 20:28; Lu 12:37; Joh 13:13; Joh 13:14; Php 2:7) 

28 А вие сте онези, които устояхте с Мене в Моите изпитания. (Heb 4:15)

30 да ядете и да пиете на трапезата Ми в Моето царство; и ще седнете на престола да съдите дванадесетте Израилеви племена. (Ps 49:14; Mt 8:11; Mt 19:28; Lu 14:15; 1Co 6:2; Re 3:21; Re 19:9; Re 20:4) 

Предсказанието за отричането на Петър

31 И Господ каза: Симоне, Симоне, ето, Сатана ви изиска всички, за да ви пресее като жито; (Am 9:9; Mt 26:31; Mr 4:27; Joh 13:36; 1Pe 5:8) 

32 но Аз се молих за тебе, да не отслабне твоята вяра; и ти, когато се обърнеш, утвърди братята си. (Ps 51:13; Joh 17:9; Joh 21:15) 

33 Петър Му каза: Господи, готов съм да отида с Теб и в тъмница, и на смърт. 

34 А Той отговори: Казвам Ти, Петре, петелът няма да пропее днес, докато три пъти не си отрекъл, че Ме познаваш. (Mt 26:34; Mr 14:30; Joh 13:38) 

Подготовката на учениците за идващите събития

35 И им каза: Когато ви пратих без кесия, без торба и без обувки, останахте ли лишени от нещо? А те отговориха: От нищо. (Mt 10:9; Mt 10:10; Mr 6:8; Lu 9:3; Lu 10:4) 

36 И им каза: Но сега, който има кесия, нека я вземе, така също и торба; и който няма кесия, нека продаде дрехата си и нека си купи меч; 

37 защото ви казвам, че трябва да се изпълни с Мен и това писание: „И към беззаконници бе причислен“, защото писаното за Мене наближава към своето изпълнение. (Isa 53:12; Mr 15:28) 

38 А те казаха: Господи, ето, тук има два меча. А Той им каза: Достатъчни са. 

Исус Христос в Гетсиманската градина

39 И излезе да отиде по обичая Си на Елеонския хълм; след Него отидоха и учениците. (Mt 26:36; Mr 14:32; Lu 21:37; Joh 18:1) 

40 След като стигна на мястото, им каза: Молете се да не паднете в изкушение. (Mt 6:13; Mt 26:41; Mr 14:38) 

41 И Той се отдалечи от тях колкото един хвърлей камък и като коленичи, молеше се, като казваше: (Mt 26:39; Mr 14:35) 

42 Отче, ако желаеш, отмини Ме с тази чаша; обаче не Моята воля, а Твоята да бъде. (Joh 5:30; Joh 6:38) 

43 И Му се яви ангел от небето и Го укрепяваше. (Mt 4:11) 

44 И като беше във вътрешна борба, молеше се по-усърдно; и потта Му стана като големи капки кръв, които капеха на земята. (Joh 12:27; Heb 5:7) 

45 И като стана от молитвата, дойде при учениците и ги намери заспали от скръб; и им каза: 

46 Защо спите? Станете и се молете, за да не паднете в изкушение. (Lu 22:40) 

Залавянето на Исус Христос

47 Докато още говореше, ето, зададе се тълпа; и този, който се наричаше Юда, един от дванадесетте, вървеше пред тях; и се приближи до Исус, за да Го целуне за поздрав. (Mt 26:47; Mr 14:32; Mr 14:43; Joh 18:1; Joh 18:3) 

48 А Исус му каза: Юда, с целувка ли предаваш Човешкия Син? 

49 И тези, които бяха около Исус, като видяха какво щеше да стане, казаха: Господи, да ударим ли с меч? 

50 И един от тях удари слугата на първосвещеника и му отсече дясното ухо. (Mt 26:51; Mr 14:47; Joh 18:10) 

51 А Исус проговори: Спрете, престанете! И се допря до ухото му и го изцели. 

52 А на дошлите против Него главни свещеници, началници на храмовата стража и на старейшините Исус каза: Като срещу разбойник ли сте излезли с мечове и сопи? (Mt 26:55; Mr 14:48) 

53 Когато бях всеки ден с вас в храма, не вдигнахте ръка срещу Мене. Но сега е вашият час и на властта на тъмнината. 

Отричането на ап. Петър

54 И като Го хванаха, отведоха Го и Го доведоха в къщата на първосвещеника. А Петър ги следваше отдалеч. (Mt 26:57; Mt 26:58; Mt 26:69; Mr 14:53; Mr 14:66; Joh 18:12; Joh 18:15; Joh 18:24; Joh 18:25) 

55 И когато бяха запалили огън насред двора и бяха насядали около него, то и Петър седна между тях. (Mt 26:69; Mr 14:66; Joh 18:17; Joh 18:18) 

56 А една слугиня, като го видя седнал до огъня, вгледа се в него и каза: И този беше с Него. 

57 А той се отрече и каза: Жено, не Го познавам. 

58 След малко друг го видя и каза: И ти си от тях. Но Петър отговори: Човече, не съм. (Mt 26:71; Mr 14:69; Joh 18:25) 

59 И като се мина около един час, друг някой взе да настоява и казваше: Наистина, и той беше с Него, защото е галилеянин. (Mt 26:73; Mr 14:70; Joh 18:26) 

60 А Петър каза: Човече, не знам за какво говориш. И на часа, докато още изричаше тези думи, един петел пропя. 

61 И Господ се обърна и погледна Петър. И Петър си спомни думите на Господа, как му беше казал: Преди да пропее петелът днес, ти три пъти ще се отречеш от Мен. (Mt 26:34; Mt 26:75; Mr 14:30; Mr 14:72; Joh 13:38) 

62 И излезе вън и плака горко. 

Обругаването на Исус Христос

63 А мъжете, които държаха Исус, се подиграваха с Него и Го биеха, (Mt 26:67; Mt 26:68; Mr 14:65) 

64 и като Го закриваха, удряха Го по лицето и Го питаха: Познай кой Те удари? 

65 И много други хули изговориха против Него. 

Исус Христос пред Синедриона

66 След като се разсъмна, събраха се старейшините на народа, главни свещеници и книжници и Го заведоха в своя Синедрион, и Му казаха: (Ps 2:2; Mt 26:59; Mt 27:1; Mr 14:55; Mr 15:1; Joh 18:19; Joh 18:28; Ac 4:26; Ac 22:5) 

67 Ако Ти си Христос, кажи ни. А Той отговори: Ако ви кажа, няма да повярвате; (Mt 26:63; Mr 14:61) 

68 и ако ви задам въпрос, няма да отговорите. 

69 Но отсега нататък Човешкият Син ще седи отдясно на Божията сила. (Ps 110:1; Mt 26:64; Mr 14:62; Joh 6:62; Heb 1:3; Heb 8:1) 

70 И те всички казаха: Тогава Ти Божият Син ли си? А Той им отвърна: Вие право казвате; защото Аз съм. (Mt 26:64; Mr 14:62) 

71 А те попитаха: Каква нужда имаме вече от свидетелство? Защото ние сами чухме от устата Му богохулството. (Mt 26:65; Mr 14:63)
