Jonah 2

1 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish' belly, 

2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. 

3 For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me. 

4 Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. 

5 The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. 

6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God. 

7 When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. 

8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. 

9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD. 

10 And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land .

Молитвата на Йона

1 Тогава Йона се помоли на ГОСПОДА, своя Бог, от вътрешността на рибата, като каза: (Mt 12:40; Mt 16:4; Lu 11:30) 

2 В скръбта си извиках към ГОСПОДА и Той ме послуша; от вътрешността на преизподнята извиках и Ти чу гласа ми. 

3 Защото Ти ме хвърли в дълбочините, в сърцето на морето, и потоци ме обиколиха; всичките Твои вълни и големи води преминаха над мен. (Ps 65:2; Ps 120:1; Ps 130:1; Ps 142:1; La 3:55; La 3:56) 

4 И аз казах: Отхвърлен съм отпред очите Ти; но отново ще погледна към святия Твой храм. (Ps 42:7; Ps 88:6) 

5 Водите ме обкръжиха дори до душа, бездната ме обгърна, морският бурен се обви около главата ми. (1Ki 8:38; Ps 31:22) 

6 Слязох до дъното на планините; земните лостове ме затвориха завинаги; но пак Ти, ГОСПОДИ, Боже мой, си избавил живота ми от рова. (Ps 69:1; La 3:54) 

7 Като чезнеше в мене душата ми, спомних си за ГОСПОДА и молитвата ми влезе при Тебе в святия Ти храм. (Ps 16:10) 

8 Онези, които уповават на лъжливите суети, изоставят милостта, спазвана за тях. (Ps 18:6) 

9 Но аз ще принеса жертва с хвалебен глас; ще отдам това, което съм обрекъл. Спасението е от ГОСПОДА. (2Ki 17:15; Ps 31:6; Jer 10:8; Jer 16:19)
