Hoffnung für alle

Wer auf Gott hört, ist auf dem richtigen Weg

1 Wie man Wasser durch Kanäle leitet, so lenkt der HERR die Gedanken des Königs, wohin er will. 2 Der Mensch hält sein Handeln für richtig; aber der HERR prüft auch, was in seinem Herzen vorgeht. 3 Der HERR will, dass die Menschen tun, was gut und richtig ist; das ist ihm lieber als ihre Opfergaben. 4 Wer von Gott nichts wissen will, ist stolz und überheblich; bei allem, was er tut, lädt er Schuld auf sich^[1]. 5 Was der Fleißige plant, bringt ihm Gewinn; wer aber allzu schnell etwas erreichen will, hat nur Verlust. 6 Reichtum, den man durch Betrug erworben hat, zerrinnt schnell und reißt mit in den Tod. 7 Wer Gott missachtet und sich weigert, ihm zu gehorchen, ruiniert sich selbst durch seine Bosheit und Gewalt. 8 Der Schuldige geht krumme Wege, der Ehrliche aber führt ein aufrichtiges Leben. 9 Lieber in einer kleinen Ecke unter dem Dach wohnen als in einem prächtigen Haus mit einer nörgelnden Frau! 10 Wer Gott verachtet, giert nach Bösem; seine Mitmenschen können von ihm kein Mitgefühl erwarten. 11 Wenn man dem Lästermaul eine Geldstrafe auferlegt, werden wenigstens Unerfahrene etwas davon lernen; wenn man aber einen weisen Menschen belehrt, lernt er selbst daraus. 12 Der gerechte Gott^[2] weiß genau, was im Haus eines bösen Menschen vorgeht; wer Gott ablehnt, den stürzt er ins Unglück. 13 Wer sich beim Hilferuf eines Armen taub stellt, wird selbst keine Antwort bekommen, wenn er Hilfe braucht. 14 Wenn jemand wütend auf dich ist, kannst du ihn besänftigen, indem du ihm heimlich ein Geschenk zusteckst. 15 Wenn das Recht beachtet wird, freut sich ein ehrlicher Mensch; aber für einen Übeltäter bedeutet es Angst und Schrecken. 16 Wer sich weigert, Vernunft anzunehmen, wird sich zu den Toten gesellen! 17 Wer ausgelassene Feste liebt, wird bald arm – ein aufwendiger Lebensstil hat noch keinen reich gemacht! 18 Die Gerechtigkeit wird siegen: Nicht den Ehrlichen, sondern den Gottlosen trifft das Unglück.^[3] 19 Lieber in einer einsamen und trostlosen Wüste leben als mit einer launischen Frau, die ständig nörgelt! 20 Ein weiser Mensch kommt zu großem Reichtum, ein Dummkopf aber verschleudert sein Geld. 21 Wer Liebe und Gerechtigkeit übt, der findet das Leben; ein solcher Mensch erntet Anerkennung und Ehre. 22 Der Kluge kann sogar eine gut bewachte Stadt erobern und ihre Befestigungen niederreißen, auf die sich ihre Einwohner verlassen. 23 Überlege deine Worte, und dir bleibt viel Ärger erspart! 24 Wer verächtlich auf andere hinabsieht, ist zu Recht als Spötter verschrien; er macht, was er will, und sonnt sich in seinem Stolz. 25 Ein Faulpelz will viel haben und erreichen, ist aber zu bequem, auch nur einen Finger zu rühren. Dieser Zwiespalt bringt ihn langsam um. 26 Den ganzen Tag lang denkt er nur an sich und seine Wünsche; wer aber zu Gott gehört, der gibt gerne und knausert nicht. 27 Die Opfergaben der Gottlosen sind widerlich, erst recht, wenn sie damit schlechte Ziele verfolgen. 28 Ein falscher Zeuge wird zum Schweigen gebracht; wer aber aussagt, was er wirklich gehört hat, den nimmt man beim Wort. 29 Wer Gott missachtet, setzt ein überhebliches Gesicht auf; aber nur ein aufrichtiger Mensch ist seiner Sache wirklich sicher. 30 Die größte Weisheit, die tiefste Einsicht und die besten Pläne können nicht bestehen, wenn sie gegen den HERRN gerichtet sind. 31 Man kann sich noch so gut auf einen Kampf vorbereiten – den Sieg schenkt allein der HERR!

1 The king' heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts. 3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice. 4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin. 5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want. 6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death. 7 The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment. 8 The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right. 9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. 10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes. 11 When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge. 12 The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness. 13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard. 14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath. 15 It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. 16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead. 17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich. 18 The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright. 19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman. 20 There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up. 21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour. 22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof. 23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles. 24 Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath. 25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour. 26 He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not. 27 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind? 28 A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly. 29 A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way. 30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD. 31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.
